Jay heard footsteps. His anxiety would take him whole if he didn't confront the threat now... So stopped where he was and dropped the backpack at his feet. He turned and literally had a moment where he almost fainted. This guy terrified him... Although he guessed he had the same effect on people because of his mask.
"...H-h-helloo...." Jay squeaked.

He was deadly quiet, almost too considering the eerie creepy nature to his stare
The eyes of the mask glinted green a bit as the smile faded, obviously seeing how horrified the other was
But yet he outstretched a hand, fingers out and palm facing down as if to touch
And slowly stepped forwards, coming closer to the other
His being giving off a warning aura, his hands most of all

Jay swallowed and involuntarily took a step back.
"M-my name is J-Jason..." He used his full name. He tended to do that when he was about to faint out of terror. This guy seriously creeped him out but if he had learned one thing in his time in the city: Don't openly run if you can help it. These people feed off of terror and are more likely to get hostile if you show you're scared of them... At least that was what he thought.

He did not respond at all to him
No speaking whatsoever
But instead, he stopped moving, and reached up to take a hold of his hat
And took it off, putting it over his heart and watching him
Either it was to show Jay how he wasn't a threat, or to reassure him that he was in fact some sort of human
Intentions weren't clear

The man did a seemingly polite gesture... In return, he took off his mask.
"C-can you speak...?" Jay asked quietly.

He said nothing
Say there, staring at him stiffly
Before moving to put his hat back on his head
And made sure it was on before he saw Jay take off his own mask
And lightly touched his own, wanting to do the same
But didn't, and slowly lowered his arms

His anxiety was slowly subsiding, but the guy still scared him half to death.
"I-it's fine... Really... Trust me, I'm no threat..." Jay gave him a small smile. He even went so far as to hold out his own, shaking hand.

A smile graced his face once more as he came forwards to grab his hand
The diseased hand cursed onto him for enternity
It would make one break out in red, sick to the stomach, and sensitive to light
Or very very sick upon being touched

"Ah-"

Well Pestis DID reach out.. So either you can choose if he yanked his hand away just in time, or shook it)
