It's just like him,
Reede
To wonder off in the evergreen park.

Reede
To wonder off in the evergreen park.

Reede made his shaking stop as sweat began to bead up on his shoulders. He needed to move, but what if him moving gave himself away? What if they could see movement like a beast or something? The boy shook his head, raising his muddy hand to his hair. A streak of mud was left across his forehead and a few of the hairs that previously fell to his forehead were now reaching for the sky, but Reede shrugged as he started to turn around. I still need to get food for the others.. Or do I? I'm out here for the woman.. Should I really be hunting then? Reede sat with a confused expression across his face for a few moments. This was a tough decision.
Suddenly though, Reede heard a small gasp and his eyes were torn to that location. He could barely see anything but he certainly saw her. Staring at him from within that bush like he was some kind of deer. In all honesty, that's exactly how Reede reacted; He froze, his eyes wide as they stared at this woman hidden within that bush. After what seemed like an hour, Reede gained his bearings and turned to run. He spun, placed one leg on the ground, then fell on his face. Standing on mud while in a situation you had to run from wasn't a good idea.
Reede flipped himself over, his forehead no longer the only thing coated in a strip of mud, and realized his spear was missing. He took his eyes away from the woman in front of him; mistake number one, and started to tear through the mud in search for his beloved spear. He found the wood within the mud, it's color only slightly lighter then the ground, and reached for his swiftly; yet another mistake. His fingers slid up the wood and Reede tore his hand back with a gasp. Several splinters were now embedded in his palm, something you'd think he was use to. Reede reached for the spear again, this time being much gentler, then picked himself up. Looking back at the bush, he realized he couldn't see this woman anymore. Was that even the right bush? Or was Reede just seeing things?
Reede took in a deep breath, his shuddering returning as he spun in circles, looking for this predator. He tossed his spear from hand to hand, popping his neck, then knuckles as he tossed. His fear made him jumpy as his eyes searched every leaf or branch around him. "Where are you..? I know you're out there.. Somewhere.." Reede gulped as he spoke, his voice extremely soft, yet easily traveling to any nearby ears.
