So, I'm hoping to cosplay as Scarlet Witch for the new Captain America movie coming out in May. It looks reasonably easy to do, I just need to find a black dress and red blazer really. (I'll probably find its a lot harder than it looks though.)

Where do you cosplay? Conventions/Sometimes I just do photo shoots
Do you buy your costumes, or make them yourself? Usually I sew them by hand unless I'm short on time or the means to make pieces
What was your first costume? Miss Martian from Young Justice
What is your favorite costume that you've done? Miss Martian but it's a lot of body painting so I haven't worn her in a few years.
What is your favorite costume that you've seen someone else do? Rapunzel or Starfire probably.

I came here because I need some advice on one of the cosplays I'm putting together for SDCC.
I'm going as Robin from Fire Emblem-

There are a lot of rather small gold and purple details on the coat and I was wondering how you would go about outing those accents on it? I don't want to paint them on and I'm not very good at top stitching things so I just wondered hoe y'all would tackle this project. Thanks.

note to future self: dont use an x acto knife so much

okay so im making dave's caledscratch and this thing is killing me
luckily i found lightweight wood thats fairly easy to work with (aka balsa wood)
and everything is going pretty well
hopefully i dont jinx myself cause i still have a lot to doooo

question for you guys: there are little knobs on the sword, so should i make them by hand or buy them from radioshack or
something and put them on in a way that they twist and stuff?

here is a masterlist of sorts for wings, both articulated and static. also this one, and this one.

maybe you could use like iron on type stuff?? other than that i'm not sure. I feel like taping off and painting would be your best bet, though.

I need your guys opinions

Do you think it's 'too late' to do a Hiccup cosplay from How to Train your Dragon 2, since it's been out for so long?
Would anyone recognize it, do you think?

People still do harry potter cosplays, and cardcaptor Sakura cosplays
so yeah there is no limit to when you can cosplay something
Heck, I'm doing a OHSHC cosplay and that anime has been over for a good almost 10 years.
