WHAT IS A COATL?
Well, to put it simply, the Coatl is a serpent-like creature recently discovered by archeologists. Though it may seem snakelike at first glance, scientists have classified it as its own new species. With fur, wings, and feathers it doesn't seem like anything anyone has ever seen, a beast from myth and legend that no one would expect to be real.
Well, here you have a mini version of this giant monster from past times. About the size of a small python when born, Coatls can grow up to 10 feet long, with the largest ever reported being about 25 feet long. They are extremely loyal beast who treasure their owners and act much like pack animals, but can be aggressive if not trained properly at birth. Choose your Coatl wisely, as it may stick with you for as long as you live!
Coatls have not been reported to die of old age thus far. In fact, we think that the oldest Coatl to date is about 256 years old! These ancient beasts will most likely outlive their humans under normal circumstances, yet, these creatures have a special ritual that they perform once their human dies.
If their human companion passes away before the Coatl does, the Coatl will lay their helmet on the humans grave and evaporate into thin air. Their helmet is like their life force and once it is removed the Coatl vanishes into a spirit and seeks out its human companions soul, and accompanies it for all eternity. Only the Coatl can remove their own helmet.
