The brown tabby's ears pinned against his head in annoyance as Dewpaw continued to talk, even after he had picked out his prey. He let his claws sink into the tree's soft bark as he began to pull himself up the tree. Once he made it to the branch that the bird was sitting on, he had to try to pull himself up quietly. He managed to climb up onto the branch, but the bird noticed as it shook. It flew up into the air, and it let out a loud, squeaky chirp to alert other birds that were in the area to the presence of the cats. Cedarpaw leaped as high up away from the branch as he felt comfortable, and he caught the bird in his jaws after he pulled it towards himself with his paws. The bird's life was quickly ended, and the agile tom managed to catch the branch beneath himself. He slid from the tree with the colorful bird clenched carefully in his jaws, triumph filling him from head to toe. Cedarpaw eyed Dewpaw warily to gauge her temper before he replied with, ''Foxpaw and I've caught something, what's taking you so long?'' The tabby's striped coat puffed out as he physically shielded himself from a cool breeze, and mentally prepared himself for Dewpaw's tempered reply.

Her jaws were parted, but she didn't scent any prey right away. Her golden gaze switched from looking up at the trees, to scanning the forest floor. She stepped forward softly, ear twitching at the sound of Cedarpaw's voice. She didn't look, but only listened, her ears pinning back. Don't worry. Just stay calm. Take a deep breath and relax... She tried to calm herself, but her temper got the best of her. Her gaze turned into a glare, and she gripped the soft soil with her claws, clenching he jaw. She whirled around, "I'm working on it!" She hissed, pelt bristling as she turned and darted into the bushes, trembling with rage.

By the clench of her jaw and the tone of her voice, Cedarpaw could tell that his comment had made its mark. For a few moments he felt triumph, but it was soon smothered by a pang of guilt that swept over him. Maybe I should have given her some more credit. After all, she did almost drown. If that doesn't put a cat in a bad mood, I don't know what will. After a few moments of hesitation, the tabby shot Foxpaw a green glare, and then he followed after Dewpaw. ''Dewpaw? I was just asking a question, y'know. It's not that big of a deal. Let just not fight, alright,'' the tom asked. This was his way of trying to call a truce. He didn't want to argue anymore, but quite frankly, he didn't want to apologize for anything either. After all, he didn't feel like it was completely his fault.

She let out a huff as she heard pawsteps following behind her. The scent of Cedarpaw wafted her nose, and she turned to confront the tabby. "Just stop talking, please!" Her tail quickly whisked back and forth, and she couldn't help bit to let out another huff. "I want silence, that's all!" She was tired of all these words. She just needed some peace and quiet to relax; it wasn't something words could necessarily fix.

The tabby wrinkled his nose as he flinched away from Dewpaw's tempered shouting. How'd we go from being fine minutes earlier to this? His ears swiveled to the side, and the flattened back against his head as he felt agitation pricking at him once again. ''Well, this wouldn't have happened if you just would've let me tell Foxpaw the simple rule of hunting. Y'know, don't chase after anything that's bigger than you,'' Cedarpaw shouted indignantly back. His voice shook with frustration as he continued to speak, ''But fine, if you want quiet time, I'll leave. You won't have to see me again! Just stay friends with Foxpaw, because that's all that matters.'' He didn't necessarily mean what he said, but he was too aggravated to care. Cedarpaw, feeling crestfallen at this point, turned back and stormed off, his striped tail trailing behind him in defeat.

She felt her breaths quiver as she stared him down, her golden gaze turning into a severe glare. Dewpaw hissed at him as he left, and watched him leave, making sure was gone before continuing in her original direction. She spat under her breath, her tail lashing back and forth. Why is he always bringing up Foxpaw?! I'm tired of it! She didn't have any definite destination, but her paws brought her to the meadow, and she felt the wind tugging at her fur. She was too agitated to feel any remorse, so she paced around slowly, trying to take her mind off of things for the time being.
