Just found out that someone isn't using the art I did for them because it doesn't perfectly match their idea of the characters anatomy. That would be fine and I'd understand, except when they ordered the piece from me, they didn't specify anything about the anatomy whatsoever? The only thing I had was the reference which didn't depict the character properly. I followed the reference exactly, as one normally does, and spent 3+ hours trying to get the piece to look perfect, and they aren't ever going to use it. It was free art too. A full-body, nicely shaded and highlighted, and a complex character so it took even longer than normal.
I feel like I was kind of cheated out of the time and effort I put into the piece. I wish they could have at least said something to me to let me know that they couldn't use the piece.
Look, I do understand that mistakes happen and you forget to write something down, but it is fair to at least talk to the artist or keep the piece, even if you expressly label the piece as not be anatomically correct. I do understand the owner's mindset, but it does bug me- I feel like I shouldn't have found out on accident.
I really do get it and everything, but I guess it does get to me a bit. Communication is key, but when you make a mistake and forget to communicate something it's nice to own up to it, or at least mention it.

I am also looking to do some art trades! I'm not too picky, but I'd like to find partners who will put in equal effort on their side, as I really plan to work hard on my half. My DA with examples is here, though keep in mind that they work on the site is in fact behind on my work now- I haven't uploaded anything in forever because I haven't had the time/motivation and many of my pieces have been traditional.

Kromora the Species

This species has orbs of their colors that follow
them around. The fact that they always have their born
colors makes them very clingy to those who share their
favorite colors. They have only as many colors as their orbs.
The most is 7 but usually they only have 3-4 orbs and colors.
Their powers are shown by the color they are connected to
the most, which will be their eye color. They are very social
and hatch from either eggs or live birth. There are males and
females and they are pretty much the same. They come in
many different arrays such as with hooves, manes, different tails,
and so on. No one really knows where they came from, but they
poofed in Naos's room one day and she doesn't know what to do with
them. They say their nick names are Kromes or Kro

If I could get pms of opinions of the species or tips to help them grow that would be nice ;u; they aren't that popular, but I feel like a lot of people could like them if they knew about them or I made them better <3

Questions
1) Asked by The Wolfe (page 135): How do you come up with names and personalities for each character?
For me, I base it all off the design of the character. If they look tropical I try to stick to tropical names, for more plain looking characters I take my time to research names and the meanings and try to find one that I can connect with and that would fit the look of the character. I'm not the best when it comes to personalities in my opinion. I just try to give them as realistic of one that I can see fit. I often change things up as well.
2) Asked by The Wolfe (also from page 135): Your characters are at the beach. Who would be...
- Sunbathing? I can see most of my characters sunbathing, but the two that would love it the most would have to be Savita & Sirona.
- Building sandcastles? Amura, Chickadee, Taz & maybe even little Honey! The main three are all very close friends and I can see little Honey being dragged along with them!
- Swimming? All of them for the most part, but everyone will start to wonder if Ormr is also part fish since he will stay in the longest.
- Riding a jet-ski? My fursona and main girl, Xaviera, will be hogging the jet-ski for sure. No doubt in my mind about that! Tamu would try to get on but his mother,Anjali, won't let him.
- Surfing? To everyone's surprise it would be the military boy who would be the best surfer of the group, so that would be Sarge.
- Avoiding the water at all costs? Alucard isn't much of a fan of water.
- Playing Volleyball? Lady & Anjali would play while keeping a close eye on all the little ones running around the beach playing with each other. (They are the biggest moms of the group)

aah im a trashcan and made another personal art piece from a warmup sketch that just so happened to be absolutely gorgeous i think. so i lined and colored my latest favorite (besides Kajah) character on it!

might detail shade and redo the eye shading so its prettier eventually?? idk i love it to death but ive got commissions to do
