"Taylor..." mewed Shale. "I'm sorry, I don't think I know her.... what was her fur color?"

"She was tan like me. She didn't have any spots but all four of her paws were black." Venompaw mewed.

Realization came into Shale's eyes. "Oh! That she-cat! I remember her! My X-mate saw her crossing the Thunderpath and offered to go help her. I didn't see her myself, but I've heard about her." she lashed her tail. "Of course, after that, my mate started 'helping' other cats until one day he just.... left.." she shook away the bad memories. "So what's your second question?"

"OOoo. Good that means she may still be alive GREAT." Venompaw mewed excited. She then turned to Shale and quickly said. "If i am a warrior before your kits become apprentices do you think i could mentor Minnow. I know we will have to ask Batstar but i wanted to get your permission first."

Shale purred. "You're a great cat. I'd let you mentor all of my kits."

[Solarizing]

Batstar scrambled out of the tunnel and leapt on the leafy tree by the oasis. He let out an earsplitting yowl, "LET ALL CATS OF OASISCLAN JOIN BENEATH THE HIGHPALM FOR A CLAN MEETING!" hoping that he was loud enough so the cats inside the cave-den could hear him.

"thanks so much Shale. You have raised great kits and taught them so much." Venompaw mewed looking up to Batstar. "Come on lets go to the meeting."

Sugarflower stopped sorting her herbs when she heard her brother's yowl. There must be a meeting,

Shale pricked her ears. "Batstar! Let's hurry, Venompaw!"

Blizzard dashed through the tunnels "Yes! We get our meeting!"

"You're going the wrong way!" Minnow giggled.

Venompaw sat with Shale under Highpalm waiting for the meeting

Batstar watched his Clan cluster below him. "For the cats who havn't heard, Sugarflower is safe and unharmed."
Mews of happiness and relief filled the Clan.
"Also," Batstar continued. "On the patrol I came across a rogue queen and her kits that are willing to join OasisClan. Shale, come forward."

Shale felt a twinge of fear. As a kit, she had learned to stay away from the odd group of wild cats, and now in a few moments she would be one. Change is coming... but is it for the best or worst?

"Shale," meowed Batstar. "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your life?"

Shale didn't know the warrior code, but she would learn and respect it – for her kits. "I do," she mewed.

Batstar dipped his head. "Then by the powers of EonClan, I give you your warrior name. Shale, from this day forth, you shall be known as Shaleshard."

Shaleshard let Batstar touch her head while her kits watched in awe.
