»» "hurry up, max!" clarice called behind her, "i-i'm trying!"
he replied, finally catching up to the other pup, stopping
at the cave entrance, "won't our parents be mad?" max asked,
"who said they should know?" she barked, bounding off into
the cave, their parents have been really good friends, as
loners, you'll do anything for a friend. "but, they would have
sent out a patrol…" max whined, "oh, come on! we're loners!
that's the whole point, to get into trouble!" clarice yelled,
the den walls making an echo of her voice. max followed her,
trying to stay low. his father's voice hit him in the head
like a bullet to the heart, "fa-father!" he squealed, turning
around, clarice sprinting out. "don't tell mommy! please!"
she squealed, running behind her mother and father. she had
feared the old brute more then anything, and she shivered.
she had something to tell max, but it was going to have to
wait…
not long afterwards, they had became mates, and started
a pack of their own, but then another came, the winter
pack had taken up part of their territory, and there is
nothing they could have done. they went into war, and the
two alpha's got killed, only their puppies and a few other
wolves left to help the pack.
their pups had grown into fine warriors, and let a loner
take their parents' place. now, they just have to keep their
parents' promise, and help the pack live through these
times of the winter packs' attacking. not only that, but they
have to live through the harsh winter, when their rival
pack is more fit.
will they live? or…not?
