Trade Rant Thread

I'm sick of n00bs attempting to offer "help" on the Fair Trade thread. Generally, I don't mind it and I ignore their posts and put in my opinion, but I'm getting entirely fed up with it. Somebody just stated that the White Dragon is worth a Yellow Toxic, and somebody keeps challenging one of my good friends who knows her rarities by heart. These n00bs are trying to "help" because they want to look like they know what they're talking about but they're only making themselves look like complete... well, morons. Sorry if that's a bit harsh. It's not fair to the members who go there seeking help on their trades. I fear that far too many unfair trades have been accepted due to the takeover of n00bs on that thread. I feel like I need to constantly stalk the thread because somebody is going to stroll in and give terrible advice. It's even a rule - if you don't know what you're talking about, don't post. How is it fair for people to get bad advice and get scammed because a n00b wants to look helpful?

I can sympathize here, seeing that the white dragon goes for a toxic was the reply I got when I asked about my bid for a white dragon (blue grinner plus some other rares). Though considering the person was from 2009 I assumed she knew more, though I still would never even consider toxic-worth for any dragon myself.

And I've been seeing it a lot more often people arguing there with some that don't know their rarities, even someone admitting that they didn't really know after offering advice before.

Unfortunately there's no way to stop them.

I especially dislike when they defend themselves. I try to find the nicest way possible to reply so that I don't start a fight, but things are interpreted wrong over the Internet so I'm always worried that I'll be called names. I was told to leave the thread and was called a "know-it-all" because I was helping people with trades and explaining why a trade was unfair, which led me to taking a break from the thread for over a month. :/ There's nothing wrong with getting your rarities wrong - we all had to learn at some point. But trying to challenge something that you know is wrong is just utterly useless and unhelpful to everybody.

Yeah, but it just means a lot of hurt feelings along the way. At least sometimes they are trying to help and don't realise what they're saying is wrong.

I told someone they were giving bad advice once. Didn't stop them. Some people are far too eager to try and prove their knowledge or lack thereof. All to feel 'helpful' This was after I had countered like 4 of their 'advices' with what was really fair. Like Seasonal, I feel I have to stalk the thread and make sure someone isn't giving out bad trade advice.

How some random person I don't know, who asked for a green sorbet for 5 hoard pets, comes and tells me that my CE galaxy for their green sorbet was unfair, that I was totally ripped off. I asked on the fair trade thread and was told it was fair, but if I'm getting ripped off by n00bs on the Fair trade thread, someone is going to pay.

Yeah,they are NOT helpful. They helped someone scam me out of my grinner for 2 '08 advents and 2 store pets. D:
