"Latke, huh?" White Flame said to himself and looked up at the brown wolf with his clear, blue eyes, "My name's White Flame." He began to walk to the border, his fur still slightly on edge. "Come on," he called to the wolf, "I'd hate to keep your family waiting." White Flame decided not to say to much to this wolf just in case he proved to be distrustful.

Latke

He nodded and picked up his pace to keep up with White Flame, his eyes were locked on the ground. He knew at any moment this much larger wolf could change his mind about the rabbit and take it from him with ease. So Latke kept his body language very submissive, he made sure that every step he took was only one step behind White Flame. His tail was low, ears laid back. He hoped that they would reach the boarder soon he hadn't realize how far in he had come, he must have gotten turned around some where since nothing in this part of the forest seemed familiar.

White Flame watched the wolf and frowned at his submissive behavior. His fur flatten, for he realized this wolf was no threat. He turned to the Latke and was surprised to see that this wolf was slightly smaller than he was because he was a rather small wolf himself, which added to his slight comfort. "Hey," he called to Latke and slowed his pace so that they were walking side by side, "lighten up a bit would you?" He nudged the wolf in an attempt to be friendly, "I am sorry about being so hostile earlier. I just had to be sure you weren't going to attack me first." White Flame felt sort of awkward, but he did his best to hide it. He looked up and could almost see where the border was located.

Latke

He relaxed a little, " it's nothing I get it", he managed to give a half smile. He picked his head up and looked around, "will we be reaching the border soon" he asked half to himself half a loud.

White Flame matched Latke's half-smile. He listened to Latke's question and nodded. "Yeah," he responded, "we should be there... Now." He stopped and stood on where the border was. White Flame made eye contact with the wolf as he turned back to look at him. "Hey, can I ask you a question?" He asked, "all I ask is that you respond honestly; it will not change my mind on letting you go with the rabbit, but were you telling the truth earlier? Do you actually have a mate and pups waiting for you?"

Latke

He stepped up to the border and lowered his head, "No it wasn't true," he sighed and set the rabbit down, "the truth is I haven't seen my mate or pups in many moons. I came back from a long hunting trip one day to find them all gone, the only sign was a faint scent heading in this direction. It has been so long my pups are probably grown by now, they probably don't even remember me even if I was to find them" he sat down and poked the rabbit with his paw.

White Flame sat down across from Latke, "well then, I am sorry for what you lost." He respond and suddenly felt grim. He looked down at the floor in front of him. "I never had a mate or pups, and I afraid that I likely never will," he commented solemnly. Despite himself, White Flame managed to look up at the wolf and fake a half-smile

Latke

Meeting his half smile he smiled a bit, " don't worry, the right one is out there. Don't give up yet, and even if the right one is not out there, you will always have your brother". He had managed to relax a bit, White Flame wasn't as aggressive as other pack wolves.
