It was another day just like any others. Scintillation, a female Maine Coon, was just padding across the fields. The scent of fresh grass filled the Maine Coon's nostrils. She expected to sniff the scent of plants, only there were no other plants save for the grass. Along with a dying clover. Scintillation's ears perked up as she heard a sniffle and a sob. Her eyes, one was a shade of cold, graceful blue and the other was a beautiful, majestic shade of gold, casted a glance down to a shivering Maine Coon cat lying in front of the dying clover with a broken stem. A basket laid by his side and he was sobbing over his misfortune. Now, normally, Scintillation would not pay any attention to this cat. Why should she anyways? He was just a stranger who Scintillation had hardly any connection or relationship with.
As Scintillation was about to continue on her way, her eyes slowly gazed down on the smaller Maine Coon. He seemed like a farmer, yet all of his plants seemed to have died off, save for that clover. That clover was about to die off anyways. The Maine Coon's brown eyes suddenly shifted up to look at Scintillation, causing Scintillation to jump backwards a little. Her gaze, cold and insensitive at first, slowly softened at the sight of this brown Maine Coon with green highlights, continuously shivering in fright. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you or anything," Scintillation said, her voice a little gruff. The Maine Coon's body slowly stopped shivering as he raised his head to look straight into Scintillation's eyes. Scintillation crouched down to the Maine Coon's height. "First of all, what's your name?" the female Maine Coon asked.
"M-my name i-is Yenhind. Mr. Yenhind," the stranger Maine Coon replied, looking at Scintillation. Scintillation's eyes looked around, taking in the surroundings. By the looks of it, it doesn't seem like you're much of a farmer, Scintillation thought, giving a huff. However, her cold, stone-hard exterior softened a little as she looked at Mr. Yenhind. "Well, Mr. Yenhind, my name is Scintillation," she introduced herself, her tone a little softer. However, her face was still missing a smile. Mr. Yenhind stopped shivering, but his eyes were still filled with sadness and fear. Scintillation looked at the dying clover. Then, she looked back at Mr. Yenhind, forcing a smile. "What happened here?" she asked, mustering the kindest tone she could muster. Between sniffles, Mr. Yenhind told Scintillation his story. "Hmm.. You need some clovers, eh?" Scintillation remarked. She stood up. "Right. Stop crying, I'll be right back." Scintillation bounded away.
A few moments later, she came back, carrying a bunch of clover seeds and a tiny hoe. Goodness knows where she found the hoe. Scintillation roughly dropped the hoe in front of Mr. Yenhind, but she slowly set the seeds in front of him. "For now, make do with these," Scintillation said. "But, don't you worry. I'm going to help you set things right." As soon as Scintillation saw a gleam of hopefulness in Mr. Yenhind's eyes, she let her muzzle pull up into a small, genuine smile.
