That there,
That's not me.
I go where I please.
I walk through walls.
I'm not here.
This isn't happening.
I'm not here.
Thin beams of sunshine filtered through the relatively dense cover of leaves; not much light made it through the thick jungle canopy, but it was enough to illuminate the dark earthen surface of the forest floor on which an adult male tiger lurked. It was not an unfamiliar sight to see a tiger in that particular segment of the jungle, nor was it uncommon for a big cat to hunt alone. It was, however, slightly odd for that specific tiger to be padding alone in the shadows, looking for food without another feline soul in sight at a time during which no one's stomach rumbled and the morning sun was barely brimming the horizon. Errol was often among the first of his tribe to awaken, and he usually spent the early hours before, during, and slightly after dawn at his favorite rock outcrop deep in the forest yet not very far off from his tribe's camp, the epicenter of their territory. The rather generic tiger enjoyed perching on a particular stone formation that jutted out from the cliff side to watch the sun's golden rays gradually spill over into the valley, setting alight the endless plethora of trees within it. It was such a calming sight, not to mention his alone. It was nice to grant yourself some seclusion every once in a while, especially if you experienced the relatively unchanging life of an armored tribal tiger.

Errol had decided to leave his sanctuary earlier than usual for a reason that was lost to him; he had been enraptured by the insatiable, instinctive urge to hunt all of a sudden. This, as well, was not uncommon for a tiger of his average standing. Navigating the jungle in which he was born into was a simple task, one that had easily fallen into second nature for any tiger older than a year. His paw steps were silent by default while the great creature continued to travel stealthily through the dark place; his golden eyes examined the undergrowth carefully. He hoped to find some sort of deer, or at least a boar. . .

It was not long until Errol came across a rustling sound in the bushes opposite him. He had been stalking through a small, foliage-encompassed hunting trail that had long ago fallen under misuse when only a few yards away, he detected a faint noise. The tiger immediately dropped into a low crouch, his white belly fur brushing roots and shriveled plants. Acting on instinct, Errol unsheathed his claws and came to an abrupt but inaudible nonetheless halt. His paws tingled in anticipation although he could barely feel them due to his lengthy walk. He glanced down and felt a brief pang of despair when the hunter realized that he had left his claw casings at the camp. No matter. The male could only hope that he had not come across a larger, more formidable prey animal that usually took a pair of tigers to bring down at once.

No time to think. Breakfast wouldn't wait forever. Errol's powerful leg muscles contracted; he prepared himself for the leap for a moment, then he launched his armored body into the air toward the general direction of his quarry. He had only a moment to glance down and analyze what sort of creature would be between his jaws in a moment; thinking fast, Errol gazed down and found himself rapidly descending upon a small, alarmed antelope that had previously been enjoying its final meal of a modest palate of ferns and shoots. Shock froze the prey animal in place, and it could only stare up in terror as a silent death cascaded down upon it. It was even more surprised when the new threat landed several feet behind it. Errol bared his glistening, metal-encased teeth; it was not in anger, but surprise. He overshot!

He had to react quickly. His prey had done so already, overcoming its unexpected plight and attempting to get away. The hunting tiger whirled about and raced after his quarry, desperate to prevent it from escaping. It had the advantage of a head start as well as a small, lithe body. Errol hastened his speed, cursing himself for staying up later than usual to partake in a discussion about the current war. He could feel fatigue beginning to take over his body, but the tiger pumped his muscular legs faster and harder, keeping his evasive quarry in sight at all times.

Eventually, Errol was forced to give up his pursuit; he was able to keep up a swift pace after any animal in the jungle, albeit not over long distances. He would simply have to hope for better luck another time; keeping this in mind, he continued the hunt. It was a lucky occasion to make a kill at all; he would not be discouraged by a single unsuccessful attempt. Straining his ears for any sounds that might have escaped him otherwise, the armored feline resumed his silent stalk.

This time, he did not have to wait long for yet another telltale indication of rustling leaves; he had a target. Errol took more care this time to pad quietly toward his adversary and peered warily through the foliage. His eyes had long before adjusted to the dim light under the canopy in this part of the jungle, and he recognized his enemy at once. The faint sun rays danced lightly off the off-white surface; the animal's anatomy creaked with every movement; it had no flesh, fur, or organs on or within its entire being, yet its senses were still intact. It could be harmed, but not killed, for it was already dead. It was an enemy of every living tiger on the planet. It . . . was only a tapir. Even so, Errol examinated his newfound opponent cautiously. His right ear twitched in the memory of a rather small raven tearing it in half during one of their battles. One thing that the war had taught him was size didn't matter.

Despite that being in mind, Errol was experienced doubts that this practically microscopic being could be much of a threat to even a yearling. He knew that it was unwise to underestimate any other living thing at all, but it was difficult to ignore the seemingly fragileness of the skeleton before him. Even if it was another tiger, like him, or a rhinoceros, bear, or any other large creature, the creature before him was still a Bone. He could not ignore his duty as an armored tiger. It was logical to attack this creature, correct? Once again, Errol crouched close to the ground and eased himself forward, replaying the plan in his head a few times. He would burst out of the shrubbery all of a sudden in an effort to take the Bone by surprise. Then he would dispatch his foe with a swift blow to the side with the intention of knocking over the inferior animal, or the shadow of one. He expected a fight to immediately pursue his assault, and he was perfectly capable of improvising. He planned to use his superior size and, most likely, strength to win the fight. It was a good, wholesome plan. Now to follow through with it.

Errol barely hesitated before he rushed the skeleton, lurching forward with the speed of a tiger with the element of surprise on his side. He had to take a grand total of precisely two strides before he was at his unsuspecting quarry's side. A guttural, uncontrollable growl emitted from Errol's throat when he raised a large, lethal paw in order to knock the tapir Bone over, and he swung it quickly through the air directly towards where an ordinary animal's heart would be.

[[Geh. . . Looks like the writer's block is spreading. x.x I apologize for the quality [and quantity. There is way too much fluff. . .] of this post; I thought that I should just get it over with since it's been a while and I still needed to post for Errol.
Anyway, I hope you don't mind me involving Fleck in this, Zmija. . . I can always erase the last few paragraphs; this roleplay could use a bit of action, methinks, but if you don't want that to happen, it doesn't have to. I'm sorry for not consulting you prior to this as well.]]

You're like a black cat with a black backpack full of fireworks,
And you're gonna burn the city down right now.

Fleck had simply been pacing back and forth near the tribe, her little nose pressed to the leaves and dirt. Her toes would reach forward and scrape at the leaves, showing the bugs that lay underneath. In her stress, Fleck would go into a fury on the sight of these bugs and grab them between her teeth, crunching on their exoskeleton and letting the greenish red insides flow down her jaw bone. A pleasure for the tapir seeing that in her past life she'd never been able to kill such things with her nuisance of a nose. Even her feet had been a nuisance in the past life, so soft and vulnerable. Now they were sharpened weapons, equal to that of the tigers' sharpened teeth. Hell, her whole body provided as much protection as those pitiful tigers' armor.

Fleck went into another rage as she thought of the tigers, flinging leaves up around her. The faint, nearly invisible blue aura that surrounded Fleck grew as her temper pulled at it's reins. It darkened and got thicker, sending up a whirlwind of leaves. But, as soon as it had happened, it was gone. Fleck sat there, staring at nothing, her fear of what had just happened making her stock still. How could she let such inferior emotions grab at her like that?

As the tapir was thinking, she didn't hear the tiger that was rushing toward her until it was to late. A huge paw slammed into her chest and Fleck heard an almost inaudible crack resound through her chest as she went flying a few feet away. Fleck lifted her skull to stare at this tiger with her nonexistent eyes. This little creature began yelling at the armored tiger, yelling insults and taunts, but to the tiger this just sounded like the screams of a dying creature. Something so pathetic and sad that it deserved nothing more then death.

The blue aura around Fleck grew in her rage, this time under control and Fleck knew she had a handle on it. She rushed at the tiger, Her jaws wide open, her skull lowered, and her cracked chest bone hidden. She wouldn't let him get another hit on her delicate chest.

((It's fine Rose, I was waiting for someone to interact with Fleck. But, honestly, I kinda forgot about her for a while there. xD Btw, I added in the aura cause I figured they need something to hold them together and let the tigers judge their emotions.))

A second before impact, the dead tapir looked up just a moment too late to flee. Errol did not know what he would have saw if the creature did have eyes; the twin empty pits betrayed nothing, haunting the tiger with their void blackness. He assumed that he would have seen alarm, surprise, perhaps anger at its assailant. There was no time to mull over the emotions of a skeleton, the large feline remembered as jarring reality shattered his mental tangent; his paw, which easily the dwarfed the size of his enemy's head, or at least the skull that remained, slammed squarely into the Bone's chest, initiating a satisfying crack. His blow had come close to breaking a few of the tapir's ribs and cracked something else -- its structure was less susceptible to pressure as Errol originally thought -- but its purpose was fulfilled nonetheless, for the stranger went sailing through the air. It crashed hard into the ground a few feet away although no bones were broken. The tapir anatomy did not get to its feet immediately; instead, it shook its head and seemed to stare directly at its assailant with those empty, soul-less pits. Something about the way that its icy, swirling blue aura that he hadn't noticed before moved about its source seemed sinister and furious, but Errol didn't back away. He didn't move at all. He merely stood motionless and returned the Bone's somehow penetrating, unnerving gaze.

A few seconds later, his foe picked itself up -- there was something about its motions, stature, and frame that whispered feminine, but Errol refused to thing of the being as male or female, preferring to regard the thing as an it -- and looked at the slowly advancing tiger. It began shrieking something unintelligible at its attacker, thrashing and howling at the hunter in his gray-blue metal armor, and Errol was tempted to cover his ears with his paws due to the shrill, high-pitched words that pierced his eardrums. He almost pitied the infuriated, rambling creature, but then he quickly reminded himself -- as a good, loyal tribe member would -- that the prey animal's remains would kill any one of his tribe-mates if it could. That set Errol's perspective once more, and this time he was determined to maintain it. The tapir's fury seethed for a few moments longer -- long enough for the hunter to creep closer, earnest to take any advantage he could -- but eventually the small skeleton's temper seemed to simmer and fade. Its screams diminished and died away while the blue mist surrounding the dead animal grew dauntingly, becoming denser and larger by the second. It pulsed slightly, rapidly, probably in synch with its host's accelerating heartbeat. Just as suddenly, the Bone pawed angrily at the ground, lowered its skull near the ground, and charged faster than its new victim could look twice at its offensive move. Sleeplessness of late was taking its sluggish toll on Errol, and his reaction time was slower than usual. Those deadly, agonizingly sharp tusks approached faster than he could move to evade them, and he leapt to the side just soon enough for the deadly points to miss the left cavity of his chest where his racing heart was nestled; however, his adversary's right tusk burrowed under the skin over his left leg and rib cage, and the flesh torn painfully. An approximately six-inch long wound was gouged from his left shoulder to the first couple of ribs before its owner could wrench himself away fast enough. He jerked at the pain and cringed, his face creasing into a series of many lines and folds. He barely suppressed a roar of agony and fuelled the pain-induced rage toward the it that had caused it. He allowed himself a deep, intimidating growl and lashed out at the arrangement of bones with both sets of uncovered claws; simultaneously, he turned around swiftly on his hind legs, bringing down his paws in a bout of anger that surprised even Errol. He usually treated battle with more reserved forethought, considering every move as quick as he could, but restlessness had left him edgy and irritable to a degree. The attack was powerful and formidable, but it was semi-blindly executed, and he could only hope in an instance that it was not too clumsy to have at least a shred of accuracy.

[[Good, good. Thank you. n.n I'm watching a movie at the same time, so my replies may be even more sluggish than they already are. . .
Also, the aura is a good touch, methinks. It will be useful in the future. :3
As a minor OOC, has anyone seen RENT before? :3]]

Name:
Phyre
Gender:
Female
Form:
Snow Leapord Skeleton
Personality:
Phyre is an extremely intimidating skeleton, never speaking at all, not even to other Bones. She comes and goes wherever she pleases, silent and like a sentinel at times. Many others have learned to keep out of the evil feline's way, but she wouldn't bother them anyway; her appearance is enough to frighten most away.
If any other Bone is in trouble though, or engaged in a losing battle, and Phyre is nearby enough to hear it or see it...woe the foe that has attacked the Bone she is coming to defend.

{{I thought I'd keep it short and sweet, since most of her personality is easier to reveal through thoughts and dialogue. xP}}

Tikaani felt a slow smirk rise on his furred lips at the younglings shocked expression, his hesitation and frightened stuttering. His right ear flicked lazily, and he yawned, revealing silver-capped fangs and a rolling tongue before his maw closed again. "You're right, I wouldn't," he purred, still holding onto the trunk. "But if I simply let go, you really would be flung." He chuckled, a deep, growling sound, then sighed, his eyes analyzing Tegue as the young male's attitude was regained.

He could read the slight defiance growing in Tegue's eyes, and his instincts responded with a growl, brief but just menacing enough to be a warning. "Watch yourself," he cautioned, his voice soft but firm. "With anyone other than me, that could have been the start of a battle you would have lost." He watched as the youngling glanced over Tikaani's shoulder to catch the very end of the battle, and the brief look of disappointment that crossed his face. He was about to comment when a feeling jolted through his entire body, a sharp sting of pain like a lightening bolt.

His muscles spasmed, and he nearly let go of the tree. "Get off now," he ordered Tegue, his pupiless icy blue eyes staring at him fiercely. "And stay in the camp." He waited for the young lion to depart from the tree, feeling the lightening's electricity course through him with even more intensity. There was a Bone nearby, and there was a tiger fighting it. He needed to get to Sierra and Razi, to get their help in aiding the tiger fighting. He had no idea who it was; he could only sense their auras, the Bones enraged to extremity, the tiger focused on taking it down.

Azta
Image
You see me?
I'm content. Satisfied.
But the shadows...
The never leave me.

A dark golden eyelid covered the female feline's darker eye as she slept. Her sleek coat was warmed by the sun, free of it's armour. Soft noises filled Azta's mind, even though in reality the air was silent. She heard birds singing, the leaves rustling in a soft breeze, and other tigers padding quietly around her. Her tail twitched and her front paw moved as she slept. In her dream, she prowled through the armoured tiger's territory forest in search of something. Azta wasn't sure what, just something. She came upon a small water fountain that sent waterdrops cascading up around it, giving the air a sort of shiny glimmering look. The golden and black feline bent her head to drink from the crystal-clear pool at the base of the waterfall when she saw something move. Her muscles tensed, and her lips curled up the slightest bit.

She could hear a small whimper to her left followed by an inaudible noise. Her head wiped around to see what the movement was, and she saw it. A small tiger cub, no more then a few months old, lay pinned to the ground under a Bone. "Please." It whimpered, scrambling to pull itself out from under the enemy. "Please don't hurt me..." The Bone cocked it's head to look at Azta, but it seemed to look right through her, as if she wasn't there. The Bone turned back to the cub and let out a blood-curdling scream before lunging.

"No!" Azta jumped awake, shocked at what she had seen, or rather, dreamt. She stood shaking slightly. It wasn't the Bone that had scared her, but the way the cub begged to be let go, and the way the Bone looked at her. But the dream wasn't real. It was just that, a dream. There was no Bone around at the moment, and there wasn't even a waterfall nearby that she knew of. She jumped off the flat rock she had been napping on and padded towards her armour. She shouldn't have taken it off, she realized. If there had been a Bone, she could've been very vulnerable. Azta fastened the armour on her muscular warrior's body as she replayed the dream in her mind. Maybe she should talk to a Seer about it.

Luar must be somewhere nearby, and that was who Azta decided to consult. The tiger turned a full circle as she looked for Luar, the Seer. Her darker eye caused shadows to dance on her left side, which she ignored. After a few minutes of thinking she decided to head northward to look for Seer, but before she could take a single step a series of screams and screechs echoed in the not-so-far distance. Just like her dream. Azta sprung into action. Her large feet took her towards the nearest warrior to find out what was happening. Now that she thought of it, she could feel the presence of Bone's aura.

Less then a minute later Tikanni came into view. "Tikanni! Where's the Bone, do you know?"

((Holy macaroni, that was a long post for me. I hope it's good for starting out. I'll have Evor join in sometime soon.))

Phyre's aura was a deep green, radiating and fluctuating gently with her mood. She was content, walking with silent, sentinel claws on the ground, feeling nothing, caring for nothing. She knew the tigers' clan camp was not far off, but she was not close enough to provoke attack, not in the least. And any lone hunter that chose to challenge her could be easily taken care of. A smirk decorated the emotionless skeletal face of the Snow Leopard, and her spined tail flicked in satisfaction, a low purr escaping her invisible throat. The purr, though, would have most likely sounded like a grating of bone on bone, angry and haunting.

And then the sounds of battle reached her ears...only two certain creatures could create the racket of deathly screeches and fierce roars; a tiger, and a Bone. The Leopard's aura instantly changed to a deep, penetrating red, and she turned slightly to her left, leaping off into a sprint for the sounds. If she was correct in her judgement, the Bone was merely a small mammal, probably the Tapir that had been wandering around not long before. A Tapir wouldn't stand much chance against a seasoned tiger warrior; it would perish unless Phyre came to help. Which was precisely what she was doing.

She came into the clearing of the battle, watching as the Tapir screeched her rage, her aura coldly blue with her anger, furious and flicking with each sound she made. Phyre's gaze moved over to the tiger, cold and soulless, her red aura deepening in hue and consistency; now more like blood. Her maw slowly opened, stretching as far as the bone hinges would allow, her bleached white fangs bared in challenge. A deep rumbling noise came from her mouth, a deathly snarl that was her roar.

Sierra cast her eyes over to Otava, seeing him glaring at them with a amused flick of her white tail. Then she returned to Razi abruptly when he spoke again. He listened to his now hushed tone and her eyes were dead serious now. "There's been a lot of bad spells lately," She replied, her whole body now tense. "I've been getting these weird dreams, like visions everyday. It's more than what I usually have. Before these ones came, I hadn't had one in so long. Somethings coming, and I intend to find out." Her ears pricked up suddenly and her senses when ballistic. "Speak of the devil." She cursed, knowing that what she was sensing was undoubtedly a few Bones. Her eyes prowled the clearing, alert and she cast a glance to where she'd last seen Tikaani. The usual shock coursed through her body whenever she knew a Bone was nearby and it was like she had been shocked with lightening. Unbearable. She stood up quietly, her senses sending painful spasms through her body. "Razi, get back to camp. Now. Warn everyone. Get ready for anything. They're here now." Then without another word she jumped over a nearby log, and ran along the shadows to where Tikaani was now. She looked up in the tree, quickly jumping up and climbing onto a thick branch several meters away from the other Seer. She watched Tegue carefully before she had another spasm and there was a faint image in her mind. She climbed over picked up the yearling and put him on a lower branch, making it easier and a lot faster for him to get back to the camp now.

"Hurry, we have to go." She told the other Seer in all seriousness. Then she climbed back down, jumping down once she was low enough and looked around, staying hidden. She knew there were tigers fighting the Bones and they had to get there quickly. Then she heard another tiger, asking where they were. She turned and saw Azta. The Seer looked from the male tiger to this one before growling softly. "This way." She said, looking towards Azta, indicating for her to follow. Nodding to Tikaani, she turned and ran towards the commotion. She came to a halt, crouching low, now in sight of the fight, waiting for the others to come quickly. Her fur rustled when she heard another roar from nearby. She extended her claws from beneath her shiny black armor, digging them into the earth beneath them, her muscles feeling like a wound up rubber band.

Azta
Image

Sierra came up near Azta, and Azta turned to listen to her. She nodded, and turned to follow the other tiger. Her tail waved out behind her as she ran through the forest, just a few feet behin Sierra. Every so often more screams and roars echoed, reminding them of the ever-present danger. Was it one Bone, or more? Azta couldn't tell for sure, but she might get more of an idea from the auras.

Azta focused more deeply on her senses, particulairly the ones that were unique to armoured tigers, the Bone sense. It tugged pulled, almost like it was grating on her heart. And it was getting stronger, meaning they were getting closer. Suddenly it softened considerably, as soon as Azta and Sierra were within eyesight of it, if there had been a clear path. She glanced around to make sure no one else could creep up behind them, trying very hard to ignore the flickering shadows caused by her eyes. Beside her, Sierra crouched and tensed, ready to spring. Azta copied her, only her ready stance was slightly different. Her back was slightly straighter, and she closed her eyes for a few seconds. Because of the slight handicap given from her eyes, she tuned in even more to her other senses. She fought and hunted almost completely on smell and sound, which made up for her sight. If she closed her eyes, she couldn't anticiapte or hesitate, she just acted. She breathed in and out, carefully and slowly, drawing in every scent she could. Then she focused on sound, and heard the other roar.

As quietly as she could, she whispered to Sierra softly. "Errol needs help, but that new Bone will need more work to take down. If we go in now, we could either go in and together attack the new one, and risk leaving Errol to get even more injured, or we could go one at the tapir and one at the cat, and risk one of us getting injured by the cat. Are more tigers coming soon?"
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it's not."
