petalfall smiled and watched kestrelflight follow her towards the crowfood path. maybe he would finally like her? if not she would have to get rid of the leader herself and she had more than a few ways to do that.

sweetpaw smiled. "thanks," she said with a mouth full of squirrel fur. she dug a hole and buried the squirrel in it.

"otterpaw, i'm sorry to say but these cats that they want us to kill have already died. they have already lived their lives so if we have to, to stay alive we need to get rid of them," mapleclaw said, the last words quieter than the rest.

"well we could go catch the border," runningtail suggested.

Kestrelflight glanced back at the tabby she-cat, slowing to allow her to catch up. "I hope we catch a vole or too." He mewed. Voles were his favorite besides mice. The tabby twitched his ears, wondering whether Skystar would want to share one with him later. He hoped so.

Aspentail waited paitently for his apprentice to finish burying her prey before continuning on. A blackbird hopped along the ground, searching for found. He stalked carefully closer before leaping at the bird, claws snagging on it's wing. He pinned it's wing to the ground and delivered the killing bite.

Otterpaw stared at her mentor, appalled. "But they're supposed to be in Starclan! They're supposed to watch over living cats! Starclan cats are supposed to live in peace and happiness. They don't deserve to have that destroyed!" She shook her head. "And the warrior code! 'An honorable warrior does not need to kill a cat to win their battles' We- I can't kill any cat!" Otterpaw was horrified that Mapleclaw would say something like this.

Lichenflower nodded. "Sure, come on!" The tortoishell walked beside him, her eyes bright with contentment.

petalfall quickly caught up with kestrelflight. "i'm sure we will," she said with a smile that hid her inside feelings. was this all about getting prey for him to share with skystar? she really hoped no.

sweetpaw watched her mentor kill a blackbird, a pretty good sized on too. "good each, aspentail!" she said excitedly then said, out of the blue, "do you have weird dreams?"

mapleclaw looked away and closed her eyes, small tears spilling from them. she couldn't bare to tell otterpaw the truth. she turned back to her apprentice, crying. "otterpaw, I'm sorry to break it to you but we've already gone against the warrior code by training with evil cats in dark forest! no matter if we kill were already going to the dark forest so it doesn't matter!"

runningtail smiled then flicked his long tail. "alright!" he said excitedly running towards the farthest border.

Kestrelflight nodded, every once in a while sniffing the air for prey. It didn't take long for the tom to discover the trail of a rabbit. The tabby grinned and dropped into a hunting crouch, his gaze locked on the thin pelt of the rabbit.

Aspentail buried his blackbird before looking at Sweetpaw. "Strange dreams? As in what?" He asked, keeping his face carefully expressionless. He didn't want her thinking there was something wrong. "Strange dreams where cats can fly?"

Otterpaw wanted to believe Mapleclaw was simply playing a joke on her but tears in her eyes forced her to believe the truth. "Blood said he was helping me become a better warrior." She protested, but it was a half-hearted attempt. The night's events were proof of his evilness.

Lichenflower followed him, her tail streaking out behind her as she ran. The tortoishell was beginning to realize how much she enjoyed being with the tom.

petalfall watched as kestrelflight found a rabbit, she wanted to watch but she smelt a prey of her own. a vole! now they could share kestrelflight's favorite prey! she saw it but then saw it was on the other side of the crowfood path, were moonclan use to reside before most of them were killed by twolegs and sickness. she looked to see that the crowfood path had way less, if any monsters on it today so she decide to race across to get the prey.

sweetpaw shook her head then looked away. "no, never mind," she sighed.

mapleclaw shook her head. "they are lying to us, they just want to use us to fight," she growled.

runningtail saw something ahead. a cat! he pulled himself a stop then his lips rolled up as he showed his teeth like a dog. "what are you doing on sunclan territory?" he asked the cat.

The tabby prepared to pounce but his tail accidentally brushed some dry grasses. Their soft rustling alerted his prey to his presence and the rabbit took off. Kestrelflight bounded after it but it escaped in it's burrow. Turning, his eyes widened when he saw Petalfall crossing the thunderpath.

Aspentail sat down, looking curiously at her. "What's bothering you Sweetpaw? I'm your mentor, you can tell me anything."

Otterpaw felt her fur bristle, part in fur and partly with anger. "Fight? Fight who?" She asked, pausing when the realization hit her. "You mean they want us to fight Sunclan."

Lichenflower narrowed her eyes warily at the strange cat, her claws unsheathed. Hopefully this wouldn't end badly but the tortoishell wanted to be ready incase this strange cat wanted a fight.

petalfall easily made it to the other side and saw the small vole, walking along. she crouched and moved towards it but before she could her paws were swept out from under her and a cat had her pinned down belly up. the cat's teeth bared like a dog as it spat, "hunting on moonclan territory? i don't think so!"

sweetpaw's tail flicked uneasily as she gazed at her paws. "it's nothing, really," she said.

mapleclaw nodded. "i'm guessing so, that or starclan," she said. "but we have to go along with it, remember what happened to birdbeak?" she asked. birdbeak was the single cat to come from moonclan but was quickly killed when he disobeyed orders.

the cat's eyes widened to the size of a monster's. "i'm sorry, i didn't know this was territory, i'm looking for somewhere to give birth to my kits," the now, obvious she-cat. runningtail looked to lichenflower. "we have to get her to camp!" he said.

Kestrelflight's fur bristled and he streaked across the thunderpath, barely avoiding getting hit by a monster. "Leave her alone!" He growled, running straight at the cat in an attempt to frighten him away from Petalfall.

Aspentail narrowed his eyes sternly at his apprentice and then nodded. "Alright then. Let's continue hunting then."

Otterpaw shuddered, her eyes widening. She hadn't seen Birdbeak's death but Blood had told her about it. "I hate it there."

Lichenflower's eyes softened. She remembered how frightened she'd been when she'd given birth. She nodded at Runningtail with full agreement and looked at the cat. "Would you like to come with us to our camp? We have a medicine cat who can help you give birth. She's very nice and it'll be safer to be at our camp then out here."

the moonclan cat looked up at kestrelflight but before he could to it another cat jumped out and pinned him down. "it would be smart of both of you to stay on your own territory," the new cat growled.

sweetpaw nodded, though she wished her mentor knew what she meant, she just needed someone to talk to.

mapleclaw sighed. "we will never escape it though, so for now we just have to accept it and be good actors," she said.

runningtail watched as the cat nodded. "yes, please," she said then runningtail could see the pain on her face. "we must hurry," he said.

Kestrelflight hissed furiously, his eyes blazing. The tabby struggled to escaped, hissing, "Let us go! We'll shred you!"

Aspentail looked closely at her, worried. Bluemoon's prophecy worried him. He hoped she wouldn't get herself into trouble.

Otterpaw nodded, her eyes dark and grim. The tabby rarely was in such a mood. Usually she was much happier. Trying to forget about the Dark Forest, she looked at Mapleclaw, speaking in a forced cheery voice in an effort to lift both their spirits. "What were we going to do today?"

"Run ahead and tell Bluemoon, I'll help her to camp." Lichenflower told him. She looked at the cat, walkig close to her incase the queen needed support. "I'm Lichenflower and that's Runningtail. Is this your first litter? Don't worry, you and your kits will be cared for." The tortoishell assured her.
