TYPE OF QUESTION: English, Possibly?
YOUR QUESTION: So in one of my classes that I'm taking, we are reading Julius Caesar, Shakespeare. We have to make a book on the play, writing what happened and draw some pictures.
I don't do humans, like at all. So I decided that I'm going to turn them into animals. But I need help figuring our what animal should go to what character. This is what I have so far:
Julius: Lion
Brutus: Wolf
Cassius:
Antony:
Soothsayer:
Lucius:
Decius:
Those are the characters that I need them transferred into animals. I hope that made sense!! :)

How about they all become the same species, but simply take on the characteristics of the original characters? It may make your life a little easier there.
That's what I would do :3

Of course, failing that I can't help, having not read the book.

You could also look up characteristics animals usually have in stories, like lions being brave and noble and such. Maybe that helps with the decision.
I used to be online a lot here, but I became bored of this site and I don't like some of the rules here.
Now I'm pretty busy as well. You can still try to message me though, I might be online again now and then : )

I guess you solve it like this:
y= -1/2x-3
0=2x+y ->-2x
y= -2x
-2x= -1/2x-3 ->+1/2x
-1,5x= -3 ->/-1,5x
x= 2
y= -2*2
y= -4
and then you graph it, though I'm not sure if that is really what you need to do.

    In order to graph the system, you need to solve both for y. The first one is already done, so you need to do this for the second one, just isolate the y in one side: 2x + y = 0 <=> y = -2x

    Now you should get two points of each equation (p.e. x = 0 and x = 2) and draw the two; you should get something like this:

    Image

    So now you know the solution is (2, -4).

    I hope this helped you ^-^

    edit: sorry Naala, I didn't see your post while I was writing mine. I'm not sure either if it's meant to be graphed first in order to get the solution or if the graphing is just for the end to confirm or so... I guess that depends on what they usually do in classes c:

    Ninja'd, twice, but might as well leave this up - sorry, guys.

    Okay, first of all, you should have gone over the methods of substitution and elimination. If you haven't, substitution is pretty straightforward. Basically, you take the equation of the y-value (or the x-value) of your first equation, and insert it instead of the y (or x) in the second equation.

    So, you've got this -
    y = -1/2x - 3
    2x + y = 0
    ->
    2x + (-1/2x - 3) = 0

    Then, solve.
    2x - 1/2x - 3 = 0
    2x - 1/2x = 3
    1.5x = 3
    x = 2

    Since you now have the x-value, insert it into one of the equations you started off with to find the solution, or the intersection of the two lines.
    y = -1/2(2) - 3
    y = -1 - 3
    y = -4
    Therefore, your solution is (2, -4).

    (Not sure when you'd really need the graph, my class was taught to use graphs as rarely as possible, but that could just be a specificality for us.)

TYPE OF QUESTION: Physics
YOUR QUESTION: So I really suck at searching and I also tend to overlook things and I'm sure that there's a site out there that explains magnetism beautifully but I can't find any D: does anyone have any suggestions?

I would especially love something that explains why we can use Ampere's law when we do as well as details on when to use it (analogies with Gauss's law aren't making it click with me, for some reason).

Brownie points if you can also pull up something about electromagnetic induction, but I'm not asking about that for now because we started last week and I probably just need a month for it to sink in like most other physics topics lol

You can still answer this if you want, but I'm not looking for help anymore ^^ I think I got magnetism and electromagnetic induction pat down now!

    I'm not sure if this is exactly what's expected to be the answer but:
    - transferring energy as heat, two bodies at different temperatures need to have contact in order to change their internal energy; no contact, no energy transfer
    - transferring energy as radiation, the energy will be transmitted even in the vacuum and the two bodies don't need contact
    So what distinguishes the two is that heat needs a matter to flow from one body to another and radiation doesn't.
    I hope this helped you ^-^
