[x]--The calico watched her apprentice hunt from a few paces away. She wanted to be close enough to observe how he stalked the mouse and pounced onto it, but far enough to not interfere with what he was doing. Her gaze followed him as he moved, as she nodded to herself upon noticing he was doing rather well. She watched as he lunged towards the small creature, wincing as she noticed from the moment his paws left the ground that he had miscalculated his jump. She walked a few pawsteps closer to him when he went on his side, watching as he turned towards her with an ashamed look clearly visible on his features. "

You did very well, Jaggedpaw," she mewed soothingly to her apprentice. "You scented and snuck up to that mouse perfectly," she praised him, "and the only thing I saw that went wrong was the jump." Raising her head, she quickly took in the scent of the air to get a general idea of how many mice were left in the area. There seemed to be a pretty decent amount; surely, they'd be able to find another one with ease. "...now that you know what you've done incorrectly," she began, facing her apprentice once more, "you'll know what to improve for next time. After all, we learn from our mistakes." She paused for a moment, as though she were considering what to do or say next before speaking once more. "Would you like to practice your jumping a bit before trying again?" she asked, her ears flicking a bit as she spoke. "Or would you like to try again on your own? Whatever you do, I will be fine with it."

The apprentice watched as Kitty lifted her tail up, a surge of surprise coming over him as he put two and two together and realized she was the one who'd caught the bird. He decided not to say anything about it, however, and was glad she would at least give it to the clan. "It'd be great if you can take that back," he meowed. "I was... supposed to be hunting right now, so..." he said awkwardly, before noticing she was struggling to take her collar off. "Hey, I could... try to help you take that off," he offered.

Grizzly blinked calmly as the strange forest cat began to speak once again after wrapping his twisted foot with something. The gray tabby watched as Dawn patrol left then nodded slowly, before eyeing the Tallrock that stood tall and proud above her den. She had chosen her deputy and she felt good about this one. Greystar slipped out of her den and leaped up onto the giant stone before yowling loudly "Let all cats old enough to climb the Great Pine gather beneath the tallrock to hear my words!" She called, now waiting for her clammates to gather.
