The Pumpkin Pie is amazing and delicious! It's definitely one of the most active diaries right now.

I've been planning on making a new diary! Unlike the other, I've actually... *drumbeat* planned! I haven't decided on a name for the diary and the characters, and I need some help on the diary in general.
Here's what the plot currently looks like.

We have our world of animals - mainly dogs and wolves. Every one of them has a power - whether it's shooting fire from your paws or shapeshifting into a plant, everyone has one power (or none - this is very rare). Elemental powers are the rarest (to have double elements is even rarer) and normally are passed down from generation to generation, though sometimes it doesn't pass on. There are other powers, too - it's close to impossible to have two dogs with the same power (not including elementals). I haven't built too much on the world, and I'm not that good at world building, so would anyone mind helping out?

We have our high school, of course. There are 'no cliques', according to the Queen Bee - there are just ranks. Rank 1 is the highest, and includes all the elementals. Rank 2 are the 'normals' and includes all the dogs who either please the Queen Bee, or have a power that's actually useful. Rank 3 includes everyone who the Queen Bee doesn't like, or has a useless power/doesn't have a power at all.

Of course, we have our author - a sarcastic kid (I'm planning on making them female, but would anyone disagree with this?) who just likes to complain about everything. They have the power to break the fourth wall and speak to anyone outside it, but only they can hear and talk to anyone outside the fourth wall. The Queen Bee believes they don't actually have a power at all, seeing that it's not physical or anything, and drops them in Rank 3.

We have author's friend #1 - a beautiful girl with a very 'innocent' feel to her. However, she hates being 'babied' (teachers not giving her detention and stuff) and is actually a rebel. I plan on giving her a scene where she jumps around screaming "JUST GIVE ME DETENTION ALREADY!". She's reckless, a daredevil and quick tempered. When she puts her paw in the shape of a gun (two 'finger's out, thumb pointing upwards), she can shoot random objects out of her paw. By random, I do mean random - she doesn't know what objects will shoot out. The objects can be from a lizard to a piano.

We have author's friend #2 - erm, I haven't figured out anything for that yet. Should they be a female or male? How should they act? What power should they have?

Of course, we have the Queen Beetle. She calls everyone 'darling' and 'dear' and says ranks are not cliques - she's not that self absorbed but she likes making herself look good.

Queen Bee follower #1 is a fangirl type who loves to geek out on games and anime. She’s mostly shy and obedient, but can be the chattermouth if you mention anything geeky. She would have been a lower rank if she didn’t have two elemental powers - light and wind.

Queen Bee follower #2 (none of them have names, alright? Does anyone have any suggestions?) is a ‘cool kid’ type who likes to text on her electronics during lessons. She’s always let off, though, seeing she’s one of the Queen Bee’s BBFs. She’s a rebel who likes to think for herself, but she’s very protective of her friends - especially the Queen Bee. She is an ice elemental and is the Queen Bee’s bodyguard. She tends to create spears out of the ice to scare away anyone the Queen Bee doesn’t like.

^^ Sounds cool! The power to break the fourth wall is a really interesting power. For elemental powers, are they very strong? Like even if they have elemental powers, what if it's really weak or something? Would they still be in Rank 1 of the school? Just asking C:

Well, I forgot to mention, but there are actually weak elemental powers, such as being able to heat up a room when embarrassed (fire) or something along those lines. That'll probably place them in Rank 2 or even 3.
The average or strong elementals are placed in Rank 1.

I could definitely help you on the worldbuilding, if you'd like - just PM me? For a few ideas:

-Write a little about the differences between species. In your diaries, dogs seem to always be a little xenophobic? Skyler constantly expresses disdain toward cats, and IIRC in the Rawst Berry somebody expressed surprise over meeting a fox. Idk about that last one, though. Do wolves/other species have different powers from dogs? Are there ay stereotypes surrounding them?
-The basic geography of the country, and how elemental powers affect it. I think they might wind up being mild control freaks, with so many powered people running around - they might decide wild animals (as in the non-sapient ones) are too disruptive, and banish them all to one specific area, for example. That, or nature could be considered too sacred to disrupt.

#1: Snappy, gets angry easily, has anger issues. She's trying not to lash out at people but she's really failing, so she just gave up on that...

#2: Tells the most gruesome and awful things with a smiling face. knows how to read people very well

#3: Kind of clashes with #1's personality. Very sarcastic and gets really angry when people confuse him as a girl.

#4: Is really just sad. And seemingly boring. Yeah, this is the one I have to work on the most.

So, if you could help me out, that would be great! Thank you so much!

Uh. Maybe you could have #4 have one or two specific interests that they're really passionate about? For example, maybe they get excited whenever people mention the Fair Folk, or wood carving. It'd be a breath of fresh air, I guess, if an otherwise drab character suddenly displays happiness. And of course, give them a reason to be sad - like, they see all those little things people do as personal attacks against them, or they were forced to move from their home and hate wherever they live now. Of course, I'm guessing you already had that part figured out.

In general, a lot of my characters are just cobbled-together pieces of real people - I think of somebody I'm close to and their persona. Then, I take some of their traits and stick them onto my characters. For example: I like dragons, so I guess this character effing loves them. Kakak's good at drawing anime, and so is this guy. It helps me come up with ideas more quickly (especially since they aren't actually my ideas P:) and makes characters seem more... real, as opposed to personified stereotypes.

Or if you're too lazy, use Springhole's generators. I also had a list of character traits, but it's for my own use, so it's kinda incoherent.
