Echostone nodded eagerly. "Sure!" He exclaimed. "Let's also refresh the border as well."

Dawnstar smiled meekly. "Great. Could you take Goldenpaw and Foxpelt on a border patrol. Make sure the rouge Clan isn't intruding."

she dipped her head and padded towards the border, laying low.

he dipped his head. "sure, however, goldenpaw left on a hunt with aspenleaf and eden. i'm not sure when they will be back." he meowed, flicking his ear. he looked up at dawnstar idly, something sparking in the back of his mind. why was he looking at her like that? he... he had a mate, she died! he loved... he didn't love applefrost. he had to move on. applefrost was dead and gone, and he had to deal with it.

Shadeclaw padded a bit ahead of the younger warrior, but not before mewing over his shoulder to the mollies, "We are going to the border; we'll be back shortly." The sinewy tom then turned back to the task of investigation the border, his tail lowering as his head did. "Don't worry; we're going to be out here awhile. And it's not like you can't hunt on the border if your dying too," the senior warrior said to Smallpool with an amused purr. Ah, these younger warriors, with so much energy and zest for hunting! However, his yellow eyes narrowed as the faint scent of a fox, and the stronger scent of many cats way to close to the border. He'd have to report this to Dawnstar immediately. Shadeclaw took his time to rub his chin on the bark and occasionally scratch it up, remarking the border effectively.

Hawkpaw saw movement in the corner of her eye. Turning, the petite molly's inquisitive teal eyes remained locked on Robinear's lips as she spoke. Lip reading was simply a way of life for her, and luckily, Robinear wasn't a particularly fast speaker, so she deciphered the faint, garbled words quite efficiently. "Yes. I am looking for Buckgorge." As the young molly spoke, she kneaded the ground in anticipation. She wanted to get out of this camp, to practice battle training and hunt, but her mentor was nowhere to be found. It was beginning to annoy the rather impatient molly. "Have you seen him?"

Echostone followed, his heart skipping a beat. Everytime, when he was in SunsetClan, whenever he looked at Shiningstar, when she was Applefrost, and Stonewhisker, jealousy had raged in him. Now he could finally treat her like she should have been treated when she was mates with Stonewhisker.

Dawnstar looked at him inquisitively. "Oh, alright," She said, but she didn't remember telling the cats to take the patrol. "I will tag along, then."

her eyes seemed to dim as she smelled the sunsetclan scent. she slowed down, hearing pawsteps. "shhh..." she said quietly, her ears perking.

he dipped his head and nodded. he began to pad out of camp with foxpelt once he had fetched the warrior.

SmallPool shook his head. "No I'm fine, I can just hunt later." he said rather cheerfully to ShadeClaw. SmallPool noticed the scent of the non- sunset clan cats. He wrinkled his nose slightly when he then noticed the fox scent. "Geez these cats must be pretty bold or ignorant to walk that close to our border..." he mumbled under his breath. It was still loud enough for ShadeClaw to hear but sounded like mumbling to anything else close by. He rubbed up against a bush leaving his and sunset clan's scent on it. "Do you think the cats are still here or were just here earlier?" he asked ShadeClaw quietly.

Echostone crept forwards, his belly brushing the ground. The strong scent of SunsetValn began to take over.

Dawnstar looked around the camp, then shrugged. She followed Stonewhisker.

her eyes narrowed as she approached the other cats. once they were in sight she let out a snarl. "what are you doing on waveclan territory?!"

he gasped as he saw a shecat and tom standing before him. something was familiar in the gaze of her green eyes. "a-applefrost?!"

Echostone weaved in front of Shiningstar. "We don't know who this Applefrost is," he spat out before I call the rest of my Clan." Hatred for SunsetClan burned in Echostone's blue eyes.

Dawnstar took a pace back. "Echostone?" She gasped, feeling as if she had lost her heartbeat. Applefrost was dead!
