About River Bears
River bears are bear/alligator hybrids. They hatch from eggs at a small size of only 2 pounds but when full grown, males can reach up 1400 pounds.
They live in areas such as the wilderness of Canada and Alaska, near rivers, forests, and mountains. Though they live in very cold regions, River Bears love to stay warm.
They are great swimmers and love spending their time in rivers and lakes. They can stay under water for very long amounts of time without needing to come up for breath. Their favorite foods are fish and other types of sea food, but they also enjoy snacking on berries.
Their fur is slick and smooth like the fur of an otter, which helps them with swimming and helps them dry off quickly when out of the water. They have scales that run down the top of their head, all the way to the tip of their tails.
