Welcome to the Calvar Breeder’s Association

Welcome, welcome! We here at the CBA always love to have new members. Please, feel free to look around and see if you want to adopt a calvar looking for a home, and perhaps, if you want to get involved, get registered with the CBA!
First off, what is a calvar? Equus calvarium, known as calvars to the general public, are a lab-bred canine-equine hybrid with an interesting twist; exposed skulls! Yes indeed, their heads are made of pure bone, full of teeth. They do have minimal flesh inside of these vessels to perform life functions, such as a tongue, brain, and heat-sensing “eyes” allowing the calvar to “see.” They also have long, thin tails and split hooves. Obviously, calvars are carnivorous, eating a diet of small mammals or, in domestication, a grain-free diet of chicken and beef. Their skulls are mainly a scare tactic, but they can be used as camouflage. While calvars usually travel alone, they may travel in so-called packs when resources wear thin. A large pack of calvars can take down a cow in a combined effort!
Calvars were created in laboratories as part of an extended experiment. While the objective was unknown, the creatures were released to the public after the scientists came to the conclusion that they are safe for experienced owners provided they are trained correctly.
Calvars stand between 14.3 and 17.3 hands, and weigh in the ballpark of 900-1150 pounds, being thin creatures. They can indeed be ridden, and the vast majority are used for combined tests and general English riding.
We here at the CBA adopt out calvars needing homes and host competitions and events to keep our community lively and happy. If there’s anything you need help with, feel free to contact our friendly staff members, but make sure to read through the species information first!
