Amusement sparked in her eyes at his words. She listened intently, a smug smile creeping along her face, though she didn't say a word. His defiant look made her chuckle. "Really?" She asked, "Not gonna lie, but I can't quite see you as the 'kittypet' type." She curled her tail around her body. "Did I hear you say future mate? You are seriously going to be pushed around by a she-cat?" She chuckled, "I certainly can't see it."

The brown tabby's ears flattened against his head as he heard the amusement in Dewpaw's voice. The fact that she felt so smug about what he had said made him feel rather emasculate. Cedarpaw sat up with an indignant look on his face as he tried to defend his pride. ''I was a kittypet when I was young, and I could be one again if I chose to do so. What twoleg wouldn't want to have me living with them,'' he mewed arrogantly as he licked his chest fur. ''Yes, I said future mate. Being in a relationship is about compromise, and if she's going to be the mother of my kits, then I'll listen to what she says,'' Cedarpaw said matter-of-factly.

Her ears flicked as she gazed up at the tom, slightly confused at his reaction. She also was rather surprised to hear that he used to be a kittypet. "I'm not saying you couldn't, that's your choice." She sat up to meet his gaze. "I'm only saying that I can't see you being a kittypet. You seem so strong and independent, it just comes as a surprise to me that you'd let yourself be controlled by someone else. After all, you did seem to get agitated from being ordered around" She let out a huff of air. "You're also the father of your own kits; you have a right.." She trailed off, realizing that she was just running her mouth.

The brown tabby let out a small mrowww of laughter as he relaxed, laying his head on his paws once again. ''You think that the twolegs control their kittypets? No way, the cats are the ones who use them. You get free food, and all you have to do is make sure that you visit their house once or twice a day,'' he rambled on in a quiet, low tone, so that no one else in the clearing wouldn't be able to hear what he was saying. Cedarpaw knew that he'd get yelled at if one of the other cats heard him talking about the luxuries of being a kittypet. Although, being a clan cat did have its perks. His ears pricked forward as he continued to speak. ''Yeah, but the queens are the ones who get stuck in the nursery with the kits,'' Cedarpaw mewed softly.

She wrinkled her nose in disgust as he mentioned the food twolegs put out. "Gross, twoleg food. Why would you want to return for those rabbit pellets." She paused, then returned to her comfortable position from before. She shrugged, "I guess that'll be me then. I could see myself being that she-cat that orders her mate around." She joked lightly, her tail tip flicking slightly. "But to be honest, I really can't see you as being that cat that would get food from someone else, or would let another cat order him around. You seem to proud to let that happen; it surprises me I guess."

"Your not innocent!" Hawkpaw said rolling her eyes. "Not purely." Falconpaw agreed. "Let's go find someone to hunt with." She added. Hawkpaw only rolled her eyes. The apprentices scanned the camp.
