HanniBun: Nonon is really cute; I love her soft pinks! Her hat reminds me of the song "Black Parade" by MCR cx And the pixel that you drew looks gorgeous!
I have to agree with you that fan characters from lesser-known series and games (even ones that I've never heard of before) are my favorite, because it's cool to see someone take a less popular idea and get so into it and make an original spin off of it. c: And Castiel is really cute!

HP Fan: Cute crayon anthros of your kiddos, especially that one of Tibbers!

hnai: Your fan characters are gorgeous! To be honest, you're one of my 'character rolemodels.' The character community can get nasty, money-hungry, and unkind. You are one of the people that remind me that there are others out there that try to write for their characters and draw them and care for them instead of just using them as another source of income. My hopes are that one day, all of my characters will be as well-developed as your own. c: I've passed lots of time stalking your character site, reading through your character's information and admiring their galleries c:

What types of posts here on CAAA catch your attention? Long posts, short posts, posts with more texts or images?Longer posts usually catch my attention more. I tend to skip over short advertisement posts unless I am specifically looking to buy characters/art at the moment. I love big dumps of art and seeing art that people made of their own characters. I tend to respond to anyone who comments on my own things (it's the best way to start a conversation and make a friend, honestly.) I sometimes comment on people's posts who answer questions as well, because I feel more inclined to interact with someone who is an active participant.
Why is it that most artists like to draw art for others but seem to always want others to draw art of their own characters? Why do you prefer to not draw art for yourself? I like having a variety of styles expressed throughout my character's art! I find that different artists can capture my characters in different ways, and everyone's style varies vastly from my own, so I like collecting lots of different art! I also draw only as an occasional hobby (with a commission here and there) because I lack confidence in my ability to draw with a mouse and only use the CS Oekaki/ChibiPaint, so it's refreshing to get art from others as well. Some of my characters, I honestly cannot capture that well in my own art.
And for Theme Week #1...

For me, a fan character is typically a character set in the world of another author's creation. However, I know that many people base their fan characters directly off of another fictional character, like the Winchester brothers, Hannibal, or Iron Man. I personally find these sort of characters to be unoriginal, because you have a much more difficult time trying to distinguish
your fan character from
everyone else's. When you base your character off of another fictional character, you run into one key problem: there are only so many ways to portray the same personality. The few fan characters I have exist as a way to get more out of a fictional world I have fallen in love with. Once a TV series has ended or an author has written their last novel, your love for their creative genius doesn't die... but the plot they've created does. That's why fan characters exist; to keep the worlds alive with new and original characters!
My most frequently used fan character is definitely Merida Fallow, who is set in the world of Gena Showalter's
White Rabbit Chronicles (Alice in Zombieland and all of the following books):

I just really loved the idea of zombie slayers that Showalter created, and when the series took a hiatus, I wanted a way to keep connected.
Blue is a Pokemon fan character, obviously a Pikachu. I know, I know... cliche, right? I used to have a Mew, a Furfrou, and a trainer, but I fell out of connection with them.

Blue actually used to be a regular wolf design, but when I adopted him from the Symphony Character Adoption Agency, I turned him into a Pikachu. I personally think he's the cutest Pokemon around ;v;
Fletch Mertens is a Lava Lamp Dog based on Adventure Time! She's so cute that I couldn't help but adopt her!

And lastly is Randall/Freddy, who is a whippet designed by Bottle. He actually is based directly on the character Randall from Monsters University, but I completely changed the personality to include literally no similarities. ^^
