Cedarstar's expression quickly switched from amused to stern. "I know being an apprentice is exciting and all but your time will come. Very soon." He told them reassuringly, Cedarstar had just wished the kits mother could be there to see the ceremony but he knew she'd be watching from Silverpelt. "Your father has his reasons for worrying, cut him some slack you two." He now had to figure out who would mentor the two,he didn't want to try and play favorites with anyone so he knew he had to make this decision carefully.

The tom felt bad for making it seem as if he was getting onto the kits, but in a way he was. They weren't really thinking about why their father was so worrisome. Cedar understood though, he just hopes he never has to go through that. Losing a mate before their time should be up sounded awful to him.
