Welcome to Deerchies (singular: Deerchie)! A species by Cat Noir., lines by Bean_Cake!

A Deerchie is part lion, part deer. They are omnivores, but eat mostly plants. You can find antlers on a Deerchie most of the time, but it is very rare that they don't have them. Their manes come in a variety of styles, some more wacky than others. Very rare Deerchies have wings, and no antlers. Deerchies live in herds with others. They are very social, and can get along with all kinds of species. Deerchies can be any sexuality or gender, and because of some strange magic, any pair can reproduce, regardless of gender or sex! It is very rare for a Deerchie to be mean, since most are so friendly. Dark colored Deerchies are common. Brightly colored ones are not common, but they are more common than single colored Deerchies. ALL Deerchies have a spot somewhere on them. None is left without a spot. If they don't have a spot they aren't a Deerchie!

General rules
1. All CS rules apply.
2. All adoptables rules apply.
3. Do not take someone else's Deerchie!
4. Be nice to each other! No one likes a meany!
5. Don't complain if you don't win a contest. There are always other times!
6. DO. NOT. BE. BIASED. (More information below!)
7. Do not steal the species!
8. Deerchies are allowed to be traded for currency or other adoptables, as long as your Deerchie has been owned by you for AT LEAST 2 WEEKS.
9. You may not gift, trade, or sell your Deerchie if you have not owned it for at least 2 weeks.
10. There are no amout of Deerchies you can own, but try not to adopt to many!
11. Do not spam! Marking and bumping the thread is okay though!
12. Have fun!

Artist Rules
1. Try to stay active!
2. Let me know if you are going to be gone for a while.
3. If you are planning to make a very rare Deerchie please PM me first.
4. If you want to do a big number please PM me so it is reserved for you! (50, 100, 150, etc.)
5. You must be able to use oekaki! Sorry!
6. You are allowed to have unlimited customs, HOWEVER, you must make at the very least 10 adoptables between customs. I would prefer if you did 15 or more in between. You may have 3 rare customs, and the rest must be uncommon or below.
7. You may NOT have a very rare Deerchie as your custom unless given special permission by myself.
*NEW* 8. The topic title for each Deerchie should follow this format: "Deerchie #__"
*NEW* 9. When a winner is chosen, remove the 'adopt' sign, correct the gender, and edit your original post to include the winning form. Also, strike through your code select instead of simply deleting it. For examples, look at any of my adopts.
*NEW* 10. Please do not mess with the shading or lineart colouring at all.
11. Read the bias policy please!

Moderator rules
1. Try to stay active!
2. Let me know if you are going to be gone for a while.
3. If you are not sure how to answer someone's question PM me.
4. If you think someone is being rude take care of it then PM me immediately.
5. Keep spammers away! Marking and bumping is fine, but anything other than that is a no no!
6. Bump the thread if you feel it is needed.
7. You are allowed 3 customs. One can be rare.
8. Read the bias policy! Just because someone is your friend they are not immune to the rules!

Guest Artist rules
1. Try to stay active!
2. Let me know if you are going to be gone for a while.
3. You are allowed to make 3 Deerchies, up to uncommon.
4. You have a month to make them!
5. Judging can not be longer than a month from when the contest ended.
6. Impress me contests are okay! But try to stick with simple ones. If you can't think of one, go for it!
7. If you are offered a full artist position you are free to decline.
8. Guest artists may not make customs.
9. You are allowed 1 common custom. (This will be made by another artist unless you are given special permission from me to make your own.)
10. Read the bias policy please!

Bias Policy!
Here at Deerchies, we are very serious and strict about people being biased towards others. This is here to keep everything fair and keep away from drama. We in no way are saying that you are biased, but this is here to keep biased actions from happening.
(You do not have to read this but it is helpful if you do!)
1. It is pretty easy to tell if you are being biased. So don't try it.
2. Judges must choose the form that they think deserved to win, not their friend.
!Disclaimer! If the form that deserved to win is one of your friends, that is okay!
3. If you are seen being biased we have the right to fire you from the species staff. We won't fire you right away, but you will need a pretty good argument! (and don't think that we don't like you, because we do!)
(Remember, we are not implying that you are biased! We just want to keep things fair for everyone!)

Here are some notes for you while I actually write them out better:

Eyes:
Have no pupils or eye whites, but they can see just fine
Can see colors pink, red, green, blue, and black and white

Diet:
They can eat most plants
Eat small animals and bugs
Mice, rabbits, and worms mostly
Depending on the Deerchie, they either prefer plants or meat
ALL DEERCHIES HAVE SPOTS

Build:
Thin legs and light body, helps then run up to 30 mph
Range in height from 14.1 hh to 18 hh from hoof to antler tip. (Generally close to 17.1 hh)
Antlers are rarely not there
A doe or a buck or anything in between can have antlers
Manes come in a variety of shapes (Some rarer than others)

Mates:
They can have any sexuality or gender
Some strange magic that they have can make babies, but that is the only magic that exists

Behavior
Each Deerchie has a unique personality
Deerchies can speak English, or any language for that matter, but they mostly speak in their own
They are nocturnal (awake at night, sleep during the day)
