This is based off of The movie/books of The Mortal Instruments, if you have never watched or read the books heres a little info you'll need to know. A girl (Clary) has had her memory erased of her being born of the shadow hunter world by a powerful warlock, she grew her with her best friend with a normal human/mundane life until one day on her birthday her mother goes missing, but more like kidnapped by a guy (Valentine), who is actually her father, she starts to remember things and learns of her being a shadow hunter, shadow hunters are people who protect the human world from demons or downworlders are they are called. Downworlders are Werewolfs, Vampires, Elfs, Demons who can Shapeshift into anybody or anything and then there are Warlocks/Witchs who are downworlders too. But then there are Angels and Shadowhunters who protect Mundanes (Humans). The downworlders are only after one thing "The Mortal Cup" but not all of them are bad just like not all shadowhunters are not all wanting to protect humans/mundanes, some shadowhunters are bad too.
