My high school sweetheart was a furry. In fact, he's the one who got me into the fandom.

My current boyfriend is more accepting, but indifferent. I'll go "Oh, what do you think of this picture?" And he goes "It's another cat-person". *Shrugs* I've seen worse reactions.

Doubt he would go to a con with me though, not that he would object to me going (Unless I stayed overnight, that probably wouldn't go over well)

Hmm, I have a question involving quad-anthros.
Do like... cat girls count? Out of curiousity.

My friends mostly do the same thing. I wear my collar and their like, "Oh, yay, I think?"

Wow. I feel ignored. And Zigzag I'm not sure, every one has a different view of what a furry is I guess.

Sorreh for not Replying Blu, I went and looked at that place and the art there is amazing! *snuggles* You're the best for finding it :D

And I'd say catgirls/neko people do count, as they are human with a touch of animal/ an animal with a dollop of human in them. Maybe ask Bongo though, maybe it's just me who classes them as anthro/furry things.

Does anyone here watch "My Strange Addiction"? I've decided to watch the Fursuit one and I was wondering if anyone wanted to talk about it, perhaps through PM if it isn't real popular here.

When drawing anthro I tend to study the human anatomy. I just got a new book for my birthday that's kind of based around anthropomorphic creatures called "Freaks!!" by Steve Miller. It should help me plenty.

I agree with Pan, you want to look into both human anatomy and the anatomy of the animal you are combining as well. You can mix it really as you want, and there are many different combinations. (Such as the difference between plantigrade and digigrade footing)
I was going to google it for you, but I don't know any good site ratings so you're best bet is to just google the footing differences. That's probably my favorite art tidbit for anthros :3

As far as I know they do. When they first became popular it was really a fine line, but they seem much more mainstream (Not sure if that is the right word) now then they used to be. They aren't as widely recognised as furry as full anthro characters are, but I've seen them used as 'fursonas' and the like and been perfectly accepted.

That however is just my two cents. Maybe you want a third opinion?

Regarding whether catgirls count as anthros- I believe they have the potential to be, but it all relies on what the artist intends, really. If someone makes something, intending for it to be a part of the fandom? It's furry. If someone makes something, and doesn't intend for it to be a part of the fandom? Not furry.
I think that this also counts for fully anthro drawings. If you make it intending for it to be furry, then it is. Make it, not intending for it to be furry? It's simply an anthro, not related to the furry fandom one bit.
But I dunno, that's just my opinion, really. I think the same for the whole "I only like ____ part of the fandom, am I still a furry?" question. If you want to be involved in it, go right ahead, but you don't have to.
..Sorry if I repeated myself a lot there, kinda tired haha C:
