Foxstripe looked at Fernstar, about to stand to be called deputy. The second before she stood, she heard Coyotefur's name being called out. Her pale green eyes clouded with confusion. Wasn't Fernstar going to select her? Pain gripped her heart, twisting it in tangled knots. Anger seethed at her pelt, but she did not let anything except happiness show for Coyotefur. She knew she had to at least get an apprentice, though, right? As all the names were being called out, she was waiting to stand and touch noses with hers. But she did not even receive one of those. This time, she felt more sad then angry. She shook the water out of her eyes, and stormed out of camp after the ceremony, needing to be alone. She sat under an oak tree, laying her head on her paws and reliving everything that had just happened.

Bramblewhisker nodded, blushing softly under his heavy tabby pelt. "Yes, I suppose we will." He drew a paw over his ear, then tried to find Sparrowpaw. Once he did he touched his nose to Sparrowpaw's. "I shall make you the fiercest warrior this clan has ever seen."

Doveflight stood up "Shadowpaw" she called. "Come over here"

"Nah, actually, You are my first one. I just know that apprentices love battle training more so than they do hunting, and such. I was one at one point, so I would know." Echowhisker replied, with a flick of his tail. "It's pretty late, but who cares, I guess. We can go do a bit now, and then we can do a bit of both hunting and battle training tomorrow."

Fernstar watched the apprentice go before jumping down the Highledge to meet Coyotefur. "Are you pleased?" She asked with a smile. "I know you will do CloverClan well, I have no doubt that you will also be a fine leader." The fae imagined the tom going to the Mooncave to get his nine lives and name, and Fernstar giving him one of them. "If you don't mind, could you select some cats that don't seem too tired to go on the midnight patrol? Preferably not apprentices." Fernstar give an internal sigh as she realised that was his job now. He decided who did what. With a smile, she jumped back up the Highledge and disappeared into her den, the gentle fronds brushing behind her.


Threeleg looked at Snakemint. "Would you need me to come with you?" He asked his mentor, looking at him with his green eyes.


Juniperfrost nodded. "I'm glad to hear it. Now you go get something to eat and then go rest, you have a big day of training ahead." The warrior smiled, watching her go before turning to Bramblewhisker. "How would you feel if I asked if you'd like to come with me and Hailpaw tomorrow?" She asked in a friendly, inviting tone.


Sparrowpaw looked at Bramblewhisker with glittering green eyes. "Thanks Bramblewhisker! I'm sure you will!" He squeaked before blushing hard at his voice crack. "Sorry." The young tom laughed before looking over his shoulder at the quarrel between Doveflight and Shadowpaw. "I don't understand that fae sometimes." He whispered to himself.


Aquilo dipped his head. "Thanks, and alright." He mewed before picking up his mouse, turning and bounding away into the bushes, looking back only when she was out of sight. He was surprised she hadn't ripped his ears off. The grey tabby padded away before slowing. The tom settled down in the roots of an oak tree opposite a broken cobble path, biting into his meal with satisfaction.

Snakemint decided he needed the herbs
straight away, and padded into the forest. He was mid-forest
and started to dig around in the plants around him.
He popped up, horsetail in his mouth,
his eyes glowing happily.

Deerpaw reached camp,
exhausted by dragging the rabbit along. She collapsed,
the rabbit on the opposite side of camp from the
fresh-kill pile. She looked up, and started to wonder
where Cinderwhisker was.

Ivyclaw looked up in surprise as
Coyotefur called his name.
He rolled his eyes as he padded
up to the new deputy,
a little angry he wasn't chosen himself.
He shrugged it off before joining
Addertooth and Foxstripe.
He smiled as he looked to them.
"what kind of patrol is this?"
he asked, a little confused.

Fuzzy lay in the abandoned fox set,
and rolled onto her back. Her tail twitched
as a soft humming filled her ear,
but she knew she was close to a road
and thought it would be a monster.
She batted at the tip of her tail
while she waited to see if anything interesting
would happen.

Shadowpaw silently walked among the shadows, watching the medicine cat's every step.

HE felt someone was watching him,
and spotted some bright red berries
that look like death berries.
He went to shove them away
out of sight so nobody could eat them,
and felt woozy. He collapsed, his head
spinning. Darkness mingled with his vision
as a single breath escaped his lips.

OOC: Snakemint shall die!

Shadowpaw launched out of the darkness and charged at him. Making sure he was dead, the apprentice clawed his face, bit his neck, and stomped on him. "Oh, I wonder who did this."

and gasped for air.
As Shadowpaw attacked him,
he twitched. His chest shot into the air,
and his eyes filled with stars.
A starry she-cat approached him, and he purred
softly. "Welcome, my son. I'm sorry it had to end this way,"
the she-cat whispered, and a starry version of
Snakemint padded alongside her.
