[Balsam]

Verilli stared at the lab. Her heart rate quickened; she had no idea she'd be this nervous. She became quiet, messing with her X-Transceiver. That Chespin was waiting for her in there, and both she and it had waited long enough.

Hope nodded at the others, her grin that remained along the whole trip now gone. She pressed on the door, and it swung open. Inside seemed just like a Pokémon lab should, but more, well, empty. Suddenly, the Professor burst out a side door. "Sorry I'm late! I'm Professsor Acacia." He reached his hand out to shake, and Hope accepted. "I assume you guys are the new trainers?"

[beeb]

Before she knew it, the lab door was in front of her. Most of her friends had gotten there first. She gave them a smile and shifted impatiently.

Verilli laughed as the professor hurried through the door. He was much more amusing than expected. "I would suppose we are. I hope so, anyways! Nice to meet you, Professor."

Noticing that Liv finally caught up to them he gave her a smile. Hope had already burst into the building and he followed close behind. The place looked much bigger on the outside than it did inside. That was probably due to the fact that it was filled to the brim with random machinery and files."It's good to finally meet you sir." Sterling was a big fan of the professors, Birch being his idol, so this was an exciting experience for him. As much as he wanted to touch and study everything in the lab he contained himself.

The Professor wandered a bit before turning back to the group. "You look pretty excited, so I best not keep you waiting. I assume you want your Pokémon?" He went over the classic talk about how amazing and dangerous the Pokémon world could be just like all other professors do. Finally he led the group back to a long table, filled with Pokéballs. Each had a label with a Pokémon name on it. "I have to step out for a few minutes, you guys can debate your choices. Feel free to let them out and play with them!" He went back through the door he came from, leaving the group alone.

Verilli examined the Pokéballs. She knew it would have to be here; there was no way it wasn't. Bulbasaur, Charmander... The fledgling trainer thought, looking through. ... Tepig, Oshawott... Ah ha! With a large smile, Verilli picked up a Pokéball labeled 'Chespin'.

Hope picked through the Pokeballs and pulled out the one labeled 'Piplup'. She sent it out and looked at the small Pokémon. It excitedly hopped around.

She looked through the large selection of Pokémon. It has to be in her somewhere... Aha! She picked up the pokéball labeled 'Oshawott.' "May I?" She asked Professor Acacia. She was talking about letting the Pokémon out.

Verilli wasted no more time in letting the Chespin out of its Pokéball. She kneeled down to get a better look at it. "Hey, little bud." She held her hand out, and laughed as the Chespin put its paw in her hand. Jokingly, the two seemed to shake hands. "You and I are going to be partners... Is that alright with you?"
