I watched buffy before I really got into merlin.... so yeah, it was unlikely I would ever take him seriously as a threatening character.
though I had a headcanon that uther is actually giles, he just went back in time to stop some of the magic that made the big bad from season 6 of buffy so powerful

Same, she was like there for a bit, but not really long enough to get to know much about her.

I think it was Morgause or Ygraine that I wanted more episodes of. Ygraine was dead, sure, but I kind of just wanted to know more about her. I'm not really sure.
