Rider; Evil Muffin Overlord; Just call me Oliver!
Name; Pumpkin Patch
Gender; Male
Species; Hideous Zippleback
Taming Entry; Day 1
I found a dragon! It took quite a lot of work to track him to his lair, but I believe it will be worth it, as long as I'm able to tame him. I'm going to try not to spook him too much... One head's already caught a glimpse of me, so I think that's enough for now.
Day 2
I've returned to his lair. He hasn't seen me yet, but I can definitely see him... Like a pumpkin patch, he is! Both heads look drenched in orange, like they've just been eating a creature with orange blood. The other head, not the same as yesterday, has seen me. It looks suspicious, and headbutts the other to get it's attention. I think I'll call the left one Pumpkin, and the right one Patch, to keep them separated. Anyway, Pumpkin seems terribly suspicious of me. Patch looked over for a moment, then returned to whatever he was doing; I can't quite see what exactly that is right now. Pumpkin is going to be the harder head to win over, I can see that already. With this info, I leave again. No need to rush, right?
Day 3
Today, I plan to approach the dragon! A basket of fish on my back, all my weapons left behind, and an eel in my back up bag (just in case; I'm planning on leaving it behind a rock so I don't scare him away). As I poke my head up from behind a rock, I see Pumpkin already alert. He spots me, and hisses, sparks flying from his mouth. I put my hands up in an obvious gesture of peace, and slowly, very slowly, reach behind myself to the basket. I pull out a fish blindly, hoping it's going to be something tasty. I toss it his way. Patch looks up blearily, and I realize he had been asleep. However, he seems very interested in the tasty snack, and gobbles it right up. A good sign! I needed Pumpkin's approval, however, before I could get any closer. I toss another fish, this time aiming it closer to Pumpkin. No good - Patch takes this one as well, although Pumpkin does try to get it away from the other head. I realize that I'll need to give them a few, to make sure that the distrusting head will get one as well. I do that, and Pumpkin, reluctantly, digs in. With that success, I move a little closer, around the rock, just to see what the dragon would do. Patch nods his head, then looks around lazily. Pumpkin nods, but keeps a close eye on me. Now that Pumpkin isn't likely to bite my hand off, I need to find a way to keep Patch's attention. Putting a hand to my mouth, I try to whistle, but the fish stench throws me off; I gag, breaking eye contact with Pumpkin. I look up again quickly, but both heads are looking away now. This is getting frustrating... I'm taking a break to write this, but I don't want to give up, not yet. Alright! I'm gonna try again!
~~~
I go back, head held high, with a fish in each hand. Both heads look over at me, but once again, Patch is uninterested. I step closer, and Pumpkin hisses, but no sparks fly; that's always a good sign. I put out one hand out, closer to Pumpkin as if beckoning the dragon closer. He starts to move, but seems conflicted. I put the other hand out, and make a loud noise; not a shout, just a general sound. Patch looks up, and I make sure he can see the fish. He inches closer, but I don't move. The whole dragon to walk forward, all eyes intent on the fish in my hands. As soon as it's just a few feet in front of me, I drop the fish, and dash around to jump on top of his back. Both Pumpkin and Patch are feasting on the fish when I get on, and neither seem to mind me being there. "Fly!" I shout, feeling exhilarated in that moment. The dragon beats its wings, and we're off the ground. I had done it! I'm actually writing this a few days after the fact, since I had to get him measured for a harness, and let Pumpkin and Patch get used to the village, but now they sleep in the dragon pen to the side of my house. My first dragon tamed! And now, I sit here, wondering: what adventures will we be going on? I don't know. But they'll be fantastic, I'm sure.
Also, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM EATING ME
AND MY MINIONS!
Yes, we understand that we are muffins,
but we are not edible, we are evil!
Being eaten always takes away precious
time and resources, as well as degrades
our honor. So please, if you value your
life and your goodness as a person,
don't eat the muffins. Please. For
your sake, and ours.
