Josie looked down at the stream.
"You brought me here, why?" She looked over to Devon.
"To catch some frogs, of course." He set his plastic pail down for a moment.
"Are you serious?" She was doubting him.He asked her to come with him, to
catch frogs?
"It's my favourite past-time. They are a lot of fun to catch. Of course, if
you're not up to the challenge.." He glanced sideways at her, smirking.
"Oh, I'm up to the challenge alright. I just didn't believe that you thought
that I couldn't catch frogs." She nervously looked at the stream. Truthfully,
she actually has never caught a frog in her life.
"Well, you don't exactly seem like the frog-catching type." He glanced at her.
"You sure you want to get your dress dirty?"
"Oh please, I garden in this dress. Everything washes out of it." She laughed.
"Well, there's a lot of mud here. Your paws will probably have mud stuck in
them for a week, at least."
"And that matters, how? Keep in mind a have a lot of flowers that I tend to
every day." She held up a paw, "and dirt never gets out."
"Ah, right." He started to head down the side of the stream. She took a
couple cautious steps, not wanting to slide down into embarrassment.
"What? Scared of falling?" He jumped down onto the very edge of the stream.
"Of course not. I wasn't expecting this stream to be so steep on the sides." She
leaped off of where she was and landed in the water.
"Close, but you need to be more careful than that. You'll scare the frogs away."
He began to walk a little down the stream, "All the frogs hang out down here
anyways."
He gestured ahead to where there was a bunch of cattails, "They love hiding in
the cattails."
She nodded. This didn't seem like a challenge. The frogs can't be that slippery
anyways.
Oh was she wrong.
She failed quite a few times, but once the frog jumped out of her paws into the
bucket."Well, you tried to grab my friend there."
He looked down into the bucket, "Yep. He always knows I let him go."
She sighed.
"So, you still want to continue?" He smirked.
"Okay, fine, you win this time." She shook her head, "Next time, it's seeing who
can make the best tie-dye T-Shirt."
He laughed, "Alright. I'd bet you'd win that one."
"I'd like to take a break."
"Sounds fine to me." He lead the way up the hill, stopping in a patch of wild
flowers. She grabbed one and looked at it.
"Guess what type of flower this is." She grinned.
"Um, daisy?"
"Wrong! Tuberous Begonia!" She laughed, "something else that I'm better at."
