Oh, and Chamomiles tend to grow best near water, I'm not sure if she told you that already or not, but she tends to leave out little details like that." She said, letting out a light mewl in farewell as she picked up the squirrel and making her way to camp, quickly speeding to a dash.

The tricolor cat quickly nudged the mint aside, retrieving the herbs and nuts and placing them in her maw before turning to camp and dashing as fast as she could, which wasn't very fast due to her short, slightly plumped frame. She bounded across the forest floor, placing her paws carefully before launching herself forward. She repeated this, more leaping forward than running as she was aware of the fact that she could travel more efficiently using this approach.

Rosepaw flicked his ears, hearing pawsteps. Glancing to the side he saw the medicine cat catching up to him. With a determined growl he raced forward faster, intent on winning. He was breathing hard and his small frame meant he couldn't make his paces as large as Littleheart's, but that wouldn't stop him from running as hard as he could. No, his poor sore muscles were going to stop him.

"Thanks, Copperpaw!" Emberpaw called, then changed direction to race toward the stream, where she found plenty of chamomile. "Yes!" She mewed, starting to pluck them one by one. She had to run several fox-lengths down the bank to get enough, but, mouth full and very pleased with herself, she began the long run back to camp.

She ran up to the water fall and padded down to the river side "Come on Smokestar, you take forreverrr" she meowed jokingly. Then swiped her paw in the water and picking out a fish.

"Some of us don't want to scare away all the prey animals before we get there." Smokestar teased back. She padded down to the bank near Stormberry and stared into the water, waiting for the proper moment to dip her paw in. Soon enough she had a silver fish flopping on the bank, which she killed with a swift blow. "Nothing's quite as relaxing as this." she sighed happily.

"The prey will always come back" Stormberry meowed then swiftly killed 3 more fish. " This is a lot of fun, i never go hunting that much anymore" she mumbled and splashed a little amount of water at Smokestar "that was the fish" she laughed

The stocky she-cat noticed the ginger tabby, Rosepaw, ahead of her. She was panting and slowed herself back to a normal running pace, allowing the apprentice to pull farther ahead before she returned to her original bounding stride. She repeated this, staying close behind, but never passing the younger tom.

The calico dropped her measly catch into the fresh-kill pile before stretching and walking over to the Apprentices' den, laying just outside of the entrance as the sun bathed her spotted coat generously. She noted that the medicine cat, Littleheart, and the other apprentices were still gone and exhaled deeply before lowering her head and closing her eyes, dozing comfortably in the sunlight.

"Oh, I'm sure it was." Smokestar replied, grinning. When her next fish came along, she scooped it up so it hit the bank next to Stormberry, spraying the other queen. "Sorry, that was the fish." she repeated as she killed the fish and left it with her other. "But more seriously, if you'd rather be put on more hunting patrols than border, say something to me or Darkheart, whichever of us is assigning patrols."

Rosepaw was confused. He should have been losing, shouldn't he? He thought about it for a moment, then looked back at LIttleheart with a questioning, slightly indignant look. "Aa ioo ehing ee in?" He meowed incoherently around his mouthful of herbs, slowing to avoid hitting any trees as he looked back at Littleheart.

Emberpaw was going full-pelt, but unbeknownst to her she was farther from camp than her competitors. She simply kept on running, determined to make it a close race even if she couldn't win. And if she could...! She was so used to Rosepaw beating her the thought rarely crossed her mind. She didn't mind losing to him, but she wouldn't mind winning for once either, and it would really put him in his place.

Littlepaw noticed Rosepaw going at a slower pace and looking back at her, which she took as an opportunity to make it look like she was actually trying to beat he Apprentice, and quickly sped up to her bounding pace. She passed the Apprentice and playfully kicked up grass as she leapt, then, getting a few fox-lengths ahead before slowing once again, putting on a facade of being exhausted as she allowed the ginger tabby to pull ahead once more.
