Hey all! I've been in a sketchy mood, and have discovered a new style I'd like to keep using/practice

I've decided to maybe take a few traditional sketch headshot commissions?? If there are any takers that is...
They wouldn't be done tonight, but more likely some other time this week/ this coming weekend

Long post ahead that is literally all about my thoughts on plumerian ears

I'm sort of struggling to draw plume ears, so I'm curious how do you guys draw them? And are there any plume anatomy references that anyone has drawn?

@the writer - i usually start off with 2 circles, sorta like this! it helps me to get the general shape down.

Okay so I wanted to briefly revisit this. As far as the process goes I do one pretty much identical to fright so I'm not going to talk about that too much. Instead, I really wanted to say that references are your friends.

Since we know that plumerians are a fox-leopard hybrid of some sort I usually take aspects of both. Their range of motion for the ears is basically identical so you don't need to worry if a fox's ear positions would be different than a leopard's, but obviously shape and size is where they are different. Personally I take the leopard's ear shape and the fox's ear-to-head ratio and combine them. I add stylized fluff too that I will explain.

So that's my two bits. All in all, there is no wrong way to draw their ears since it is a fictitious species. So just have fun with it and make them as pointy, simplified, detailed, etc. as you want! ^^ I hope this at least helped a little.
