Taming Entry; I flew over to hobblegrunt island today just to see how they where doing after the dragon hunter attck. The seemed fine but Hiccup requested for me to do something, protect a nest. I flew around the island looking for the nest, but all the hobblegrunts looked the same. All purple, green, and blue. Then i found it, it was the only hobblegrunt nest with a pink hobblegrunt female. He wanted me to protect them because the babies are all different colors than purple, green, or blue.

Few Weeks Later

The babies hatched! Oh my gosh i never knew baby dragons when they hatched loved the first viking they see! I have about 4 attached to my legs right now! Lets see, the colors of the dragons. Well, yellow, pink, lime green, neon blue, purple, red, and orange! But i saw another egg. I asked why the mother was done watching it. Hiccup said because its either idle or she doesn't want to sit for another week. So i took the egg into my arms. Then i flew home. When i got to Berk, i put Rose in her stall. Then i took the egg to my hut. Where i made a fire for it to warm it. The egg moved a bit. Then after a while, BOOM! Crack, crack, BOOM. The egg exploded! I forgot to say that. Out came a little baby, female, albino, hobblegrunt! I shrieked in happiness at the new baby! It was so freaking adorable! She came up licked my face, then ran right out of the hut! She plopped down onto the grass and was warmed by the daylight. When i tried to get her to come inside she hissed and ran. I was naming her Daylight.

One Month Later

Oh gosh its been a month!? Well sorry had to catch up training Daylight. She is a teen dragon now! Well i trained her every so often but I've been teaching her to fly and eat. Also battle type things, but Rose and Aurora do that. She loves all the dragons on Berk, and she has met some hobblegrunt friends! When i handed her a fish for dinner she took it and ran to the stalls. She met with Rose, tore the fish in half, then gave one to her and Aurora. I went back to the hut with Day and was going to teach her to eat her own food. So i took a fish (cooked) and ate it. Then i gave Day a fish, she did the same. But before you know it, she found my stash of fish. Silly dragon. So i had to go fishing. After that i find Day fast asleep right under my bed! I laughed at that. Then went to bed also.

One Year Later

Day is an adult now! I taught her to fly with me but not quite on her own yet. I kinda do it like with a fish. I threw the fish over the side of the cliff. Then Day jumped after it. She flew for about 5 seconds then feel. Rose was with me so she dove and caught her. I brought her to Hiccup to see what was wrong. He told me it was her wing. The wing looked fine but when i saw it closer, it was bent and out of place. I rushed to the workshop with Day right behind me. I went right to a work bench and started on a cast. One to help her fly of course! It took me long enough to make it but when it was done it fit her perfectly. She flapped and purred. I knew she would like it! I made it with white leather, wool, and metal.

Well its been a few weeks and i took of Days cast. She seems better and can fly! I went for a few test runs with her for a while before i let her on her own. I decided it was time to fly back to hobblegrunt island so Day could meet her kind. So we flew off! When we got there Day rushed over to the pink hobblegrunt. They rubbed heads and purred! I guess Day knew this was her mother! I chuckled. Then a yellow male came up, Days father! They all purred! I decided to name the pink one Sunset and the yellow one Sunlight. I called for Day and she ran over. I gave her a few fish but instead of eating them she gave them to her parents! I laughed at her. "She never learns!" I said smiling!

It's been about twenty-four hours since I had tamed my first dragon. Kiduttaa the terrible terror. Has a nice ring to it if I do say so myself. It's rather early in the morning and I really want to explore again. I have been listening about the village and apparently a new harem of Hobblegrunts has made themselves a home close by. Much closer, than Kiduttaa was. However, this doesn't surprise me, their species is naturally inquisitive, meaning they are more than likely to set up camp closer to our village. Despite their size, I just couldn't help myself but think I should take a look and maybe even tame one of them. The thought brought a small smile to face as I cast my glance upon a sleeping form by the dying fire embers. I sat myself down as the table, a small slice of bread, some cooked fish and a cup of water. I had to keep my strength up if I am to become a mighty dragon tamer. Although I still had a long way to go before I earn that title. Looking around as I ate, my satchel was hanging by the door and ready for me to snatch and grab. I was considering in taking Kiduttaa with me, it would be our first adventure together. Even after only a short period of time together, I couldn't help but feel we had a special connection considering she was my first tame.

Looking out of the small window, the sun was just beginning to peak over the ocean horizon. I knew I had to leave soon if I were to have a chance at even taming on of the new Hobblegrunts. Especially since they were a hot topic about the place. Whistling sharply, Kidutta bounced up, gave a short yawn and stretch before running towards my side. Casting my eyes downward, my left hand tapped my shoulder. "Up." I told her clearly, her wings fluttering up as she landed herself on my shoulder. Her claws dug into my shoulder and into my back, it was a little uncomfortable to say the least. Anyway, bolting out of the door, I slung my satchel on the opposite shoulder. Kiduttaa's claws causing a sharp pain as she clung on for balance, my speed picking up as I headed towards the fish barrels. Fish seemed to be the way to go, however, I did stop by to collect some eels and some raw meat. Couldn't be too prepared. Kiduttaa was sure to keep her eyes locked on the food as the gave her one of the many fish I had stuffed into my satchel.

I've been searching for a few hours now in the last place the Hobblegrunts were seen. So I thought I would take a break to write in my trusty taming journal. Breathing a sigh, Kiduttaa sat patiently next to me, resting her head on my legs, her eyes slowly drifting shut. I was close behind if I was being honest. However, a snap in the distance caused the little terrible terror and myself to jump up in surprise. Squinting my eyes, I could see a figure moving within the shadows and by the sounds of it, so did Kiduttaa as a tiny growl emanated from her small frame. "It's okay." I cooed, not only to Kiduttaa but to the shadow in the forest. Reaching slowly into my satchel, I pulled out a piece of raw meat before throwing it towards the shadow.

Suddenly it burst forward. Jumping back in fright, Kiduttaa tilted her head in curiosity, taking a few steps forward as she did so. With eyes wide, I was looking at a pure white Hobblegrunt. It's pink eyes blinking as it's head tilted. I had never seen a pure white dragon before, surely this had to be some kind of rarity? I questioned silently, my brows knitting in some confusion as I continued to stare at it. As if sensing the tension, the Hobblegrunt changed it's colour to a vibrant blue. The colour producing a calming effect in Kiduttaa. Noticing this, I smiled gently. This dragon was a chromatophore or a colour changer and in doing so induced a certain mood into the dragons it confronted. Taking mental notes, I smiled gently as it tilted it's head curiosity evident in its body posture.

A few moments past with the staring, gauging each other. Although, it seemed to become comfortable as it picked up the meat with ease and swallowed it whole. Giving a gentle chuckle, I reached into my satchel and took some more out. Throwing it gently to the ground, allowing it to consume as much as it wanted. Of course, I soon ran out so I tried the eels. The Hobblegrunt took a few sniffs of it before shaking it's head in discontent. Okay... maybe I should stop with the eels. None of the dragons seemed interested in them as far as I was concerned. Shrugging my shoulders, I opened my bag for some fish. Kiduttaa of course was immediately interested, however, I fed the Hobblegrunt first before giving my dragon her share. The time that it took the Hobblegrunt to eat the fish, I had presumed it to be male, taking in his size and musculature. Now all I had to do was think of a name.

It's seems I may have gotten a little distracted whilst looking at this beauty. I have decided to call him Nimbus. Like the cloud Cumulonimbus because of his colouration. Fish is also his favourite food, however, I am thinking about keeping it as a treat for them. Fish is rather expensive when trading in my village. Meat on the other hand is by far much cheaper and a more abundant supply.Although, I'm still in the forest, playing small games with the Hobblegrunt. His changing colour is memorising to little Kiduttaa. It looks like they are getting along better than I thought. Seems I may be taking this one home with me to. I couldn't help but smile at the thought, only my second outing and I have my first not only colour changing but a flyer. That means I'll be able to scour the land for less abundant species of dragon and those which aren't as inquisitive or extroverted.

"Come on you two." I called, as Kidutta climbed up on my shoulder. Nimbus walking at a steady pace behind me. His nose pressing into my back every so often, just remind me that he was there. Shaking my head gently, I walked back to the village. I could keep Kiduttaa in my home, but Nimbus was far too big. Giving a sad smile, I led Nimbus into the stables. "Sorry buddy, your too big." I told him, rubbing the scales along his nose. A few curious eyes glancing in my direction. It seemed I was the first to come back with Hobblegrunt. A sense of pride filled me as I closed up the stall. Quickly making sure he had water inside. Some stable hands would feed him later. "Come on Kiduttaa, I need some more food and a nap." A cheeky grin parting her mouth, a chirp echoing from her. I chuckled heartily before heading back to my home.
