He frowned, looking around.
'What do you think?' he asked Saphira.
'Even though he is annoying, I don't think that he's lying,' she answered. Eragon nodded, by gently probing the other's thoughts, he could tell that he was telling the truth.
"So, where is this... Q?" Eragon asked. "Maybe we can help you out of your problem." Saphira growled slightly, and turned to Eragon.
'I'm going hunting. You can stay and talk to the annoying two-leg,' she muttered, flying off.

I sat down cross-legged on a fallen log and leaned back, not taking my eyes from the dragon until she was out of sight. Then I turned back to the guy, and shrugged almost nonchalantly. "I have no idea. To be honest, I only just got here a few hours ago, and I never actually saw Q. However, something tells me that we're not going to find him unless he wants to be found." I took a deep breath as I looked around, inspecting my surroundings. "It's getting kinda dark. I believe some guy mentioned a town somewhere nearby, but I got kinda sidetracked. Any way your dragon friend could find where it is? I bet there's somewhere we could spend the night, even though I don't have any cash and somehow I doubt any money you have is in the form of bank notes."

I stayed with my back pressed against the same tree, staring into the woods. Vanha had been right about one thing: we couldn't just spend the rest of our lives running from Q. I'd never been a submissive person, though under the current circumstances I'd always been under the mindset that it would probably be more beneficial to lie low and not attract attention to myself. Perhaps there was a way to subdue him. But we couldn't kill him. Without him, chances were we would never be able to get off this cursed planet. I wanted to feel the icy wind lifting me into the sky and the sunlight on my back and the snow in my face. And if he could be persuaded to tell me how his powers worked... This was an opportunity to make Anyar a better place. It was also a good way to get myself killed.
I sighed and slid into a sitting position, looking up at the sky. I couldn't shake the thought of hopeless this all was. I let out a quiet laugh which quickly turned into a strangled sob. I wondered how far I could go before giving up. It was almost difficult to believe that somehow, I of all people had ended up here. I was nothing special. I wasn't strong or powerful or a skilled fighter or even tough in any way like Tsuke, Vanha, Pauline, and Nomicon. I had more scientific knowledge, but if Q really brought us here to amuse himself, he could've found someone better. Everyone else was handling it so much better than I was, but it seemed that everyone else here had seen action before, been in difficult situations where they had to fight for their lives. I'd been on a starship- but there was no longer much danger to that. I wasn't used to this level of stress, both mentally and physically.
I needed sleep.
With a shaky deep breath, I got up and began to walk in the direction that I hoped the town lay in. It was still possible there could be something there to help me- weapons, food, tools, a door to lock behind me when I went to sleep.
