Name:
Tanebi (which means Ember in Japanese)
eye pallate (keep it simple please):
his left eye is silver as a moon, and his right is as gold as the sun.
Why he doesn't have a tail:
Long ago when Tanebi was a young kitten in another owner's possession he found himself in trouble consently. He had gained many scratches and scars from the trouble he had always stumbled into, but nothing was as great as his story of how he lost his tail, and gained his name at the same time. Yes, originally he had no name, for his mother would never give him one. She'd always say 'Youngkit' when talking to him, or about him. So, Youngkit was his name for the longest time. Youngkit loved attention, but his mother would never give to him. So most of the time when he tried to get his mother's attention she would hiss:
"Youngkit! I have no time for this, go play somewhere else!"
And Youngkit would go out of his Owner's house and into the wild backyard. Now, most of the scratches around his paws came from him chasing mice around and scratching himself pretty badly. Yet, he bares a long scar across his muzzle which came from an encounter with a snake. The snake had used it's fangs to cut his muzzle, and Youngkit had used his claws to kill the snake. Ever since then he was terrified of snakes, but nothing else could subdue this kitten's curiosity!
One day thou, his curiousity will give him much more than a scar. He had went up to his mother calling out to her:
"Mother, mother!" He said as he bounced around her paws.
"Youngkit! Go bother someone else, or go into the awful backyard!" She hissed at him.
And so, Youngkit obeyed her. As he walked around in the backyard, chasing mice, and peering at bugs, he started to feel bored. What was the point of walking in the backyard that he had explored thousands of times before? He got an idea. What if, he found a hole in the fence he could squeeze through? It would help him greatly to find new things to play with! He leaped up and examined the fence, until he found a small mouse hole. Risky, but he could try. He tore through the fence expanding the hole just enough so he could escape. Yes! Success! He gleefully jumped out of the fence to see a forest. More like a dusty path with bushes and tall trees, but a forest to Youngkit no less.
The first thing Youngkit did was pat the gravel path, he had never felt gravel before and was intranced with it. He started kicking around pebbles and chasing small rocks he kicked. After twenty minutes though, he had enough, and moved on.
He walked down the pathway into the 'forest' excited about this new area, which was a playground in his eyes. He leaped into every bush, tackled every leaf, and chased anything that moved even the slightest. He ran deeper and deeper into the huge forest, and eventually found a huge creature sleeping.
He examined the creature leaping around it and sniffing it's shaggy brown tail. Then he went right up to its floppy ears and tugged on them. The creature awoke and it was none other than a dog. The dog snarled and rose to its feet towering over Youngkit.
"Idiotic cat! I'll kill you! You are nothing but an annoying flea!" The large Labrador barked more insults at Youngkit, just because he was a cat.
Youngkit hissed "At least I'm not a drooling snob like you!"
The dog snarled and drool splattered all over the ground. Youngkit raised his tail and arched his back; hissing. The Labador suddenly lunged at Youngkit grabbing his tail.
"Insolent cat! I'll kill you for that!"
There was a sickening crack, and blood spilled out where Youngkit's tail was connected to his body. Youngkit Mewed in pain and swung around to claw the dog's eyes. The hound yelped and threw Youngkit into the nearest bush, and ran away barking as blood dripped from his snout.
As soon as the yelping died away, Youngkit turned to look at his damaged tail. Yet, instead of a tail, there was a bleeding stump. He winced and didn't want to find out where the rest of his tail disappeared to. He needed to get home, and fast.
He turned to leave, but instead he met the eyes of a garden snake. He hissed and leaped backwards; claws unsheathed, but the snake only laughed.
"You are quite the
Tanebi aren't you?"
Youngkit tilted his head, "Tanebi? No, I'm Youngkit!"
The snake shook his head, "No
Tanebi means ember in Japanese," he then realized what Youngkit said, "What? Youngkit is hardly a name!"
Youngkit growled "no! It is a name!" He paused "is it?"
The snake laughed again, "no, it isn't from now on your name shall be
Tambi, go to your mother and tell her that!"
Tanebi nodded, just because he wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. He ran out of the bush all the way back to the backyard, and when his mother scolded him he said: "I don't care! I lost my tail, and gained a new name: Tanebi!" His mother yelled at Tanebi for talking back to her, and then his owner sent him off to the vet to fix his tail.
Even after that he ran into more trouble, but that's how he lost his tail.
