about the user >> my username is balto. - a not-so-active member due to recent events that have occurred in the community, but I still hang around to watch what happens within the community. I am the current owner of 60 rpws of my own - and although now they wont be seen as much, I love each and every one of them the same, and as much as I can, even if I can't be too active with them. I am an artist and currently trying to really challenge myself with art and writing, one of these forms included with extended personalities and stories and all the such. My form won't be very pretty, but due to me not being able to access the internet all that lately, you could say the simple coding was thrown in last minute.
Enough rambling, lets move onto the form! I hope you enjoy it, despite it being a huge wall of text since the headshot of art is all I had time for.

--

about the wolf >> I have decided that for my form, this rpw would be given the name of Mackenzie - a name that can be heard, although its not really too often compared to the majority of names. I don't know why I went with this name - perhaps because it is a intersex name, it can be used for both genders, and while I do see that the majority of users trying have made the character lean on the more feminine side, I decided that with this guy, mine would go more...both ways, so I had to find a fitting name, and Mackenzie seemed to be that name, especially with the character I have planned, for some reason. Of course, as I've already mentioned, this wolf doesn't lean so far on the feminine side - I see them more as bigender, although this wolf is dmab, they go by he/him and she/her pronouns, or even they/them, but they do prefer more masculine pronouns, and from where this wolf comes from anyway, he doesn't understand the concept of gender, it was never explained to his as the knowledge was never held within his family line, and although he is learning from a friend, he is still rather unsure, but doesn't really care. Mackenzie is a young wolf, only around twenty-three years of age, and acts much more mature then what he actually is. He is demisexual and demiromantic, so he is really open to anyone, although it is the same as gender, he doesn't understand the concept of it all and doesn't understand how some wolves can only choose one certain gender.

--

personality >> Mackenzie, in his own few words, is a rather loyal wolf - he lives by his word, he protects his friends and makes sure to do his best and never let them down, even if it does seem easier. For his more soft-looking appearance they do seem fragile, and in reality they are, but he is brave, stands up for what is right, and would never back down from a fight, even if his life was in risk. He doesn't let anyone mess with his friends, no matter how long he has known them for - they are all close to his heart, and it is in his blood to protect, to stand up, and to fight for those who he considers his friends. His friends consist usually of his tribe, and with them by his side, he goes foreword with no fear, knowing that he is doing what is best for the tribe, what would be the best outcome for them in the end, and if that outcome could happen.
He is a rather fragile wolf - he was born weak, to say the least, and he has trained and become stronger, but his bones still remain soft. In terms of personality, its the complete opposite, he often does get things said about him, but do you think that he lets it happen willingly, that he can't do anything? He can - he has had plenty of chances, but he has never taken the chance, the strike, he has never tried to stop it, because if he did, he would stoop to a lower level, and after all he has been taught, that is the last thing he wants to happen - he wants to seem stronger, he will ignore, maybe even snap back if it continues, although he will only ever do it once, he really looks at it as more of a learning curve then anything else, learning different behaviours of different wolves, it is rather interesting for someone such as himself, who has never lived in the city life.
Mackenzie is one of few words - his speech isn't the best, as the majority of the tribe, as he has never really needed another way to communicate apart from signals. He has learnt how to speak, teaching himself and getting taught by his friend, Flower, but he doesn't make full sentences sometimes - he has gotten to a point, however, where he only misses one or two words, and it seems it will be that way. As long as others can understand him, and he, in turn, can understand them, then he doesn't really care - as long as the point gets across, he likes to say, then all is well and its all in a good days work. Words are hard to be said during important tasks, anyway, such as hunting. If you talk the prey will hear you and run, and you'll lose not only a meal for yourself, but a meal for your family, and while the whole tribe is his family, to him, he would never want to let them down, so he keeps as few words coming from him as possible.
He is an idealist - if you need ideas, come to him, if you have ideas, go come to him, and even if you have no clue what you're doing, some to him. He may not speak much but he will help in times of need - ideas, to help the tribe become better and stronger are his strong point, but he can be a rather good supporter if needed - he will try to make you follow your ideas if that is what you want, if that is the way your path is heading. He is never the one to really turn down ideas, just to listen and help, if its putting that idea into effect and making it happen, or helping them improve the idea because he managed to find flaws within, or the flaws themselves were pointed out by the wolf who had the idea. And although he doesn't support ideas being similar and being from two different wolves, he does try to make them understand and change it, so the outcome for each is different and unique.
This guy is also a rather stubborn wolf - not taking no for an answer, and if his heart is set to it, he will do it. He doesn't really tend to listen to many others - really only his friends, which seem to consist of only Flower and another wolf or two. He never accepts being ordered around, and if you try to be bossy around him then he'll just plainly ignore you, no matter how much you try to get his attention. While this makes him rather narrow-minded and with a short temper that can snap, it also helps him, because he never steps down from any challenge - he is much too stubborn to do that, and he is not the one to have his pride ruined. This makes him a good tribe member - to protect and help the tribe at all costs, and while him being stubborn can be considered a con, in the end, the path it helps him follow turns out to be for the better, and well, besides, not everyone can be perfect and nice all the time anyway.
Even for the wolf that speaks few words, even with him being in a tribe, Mackenzie can be seen by most to be a rather intelligent fellow. Sure, even with his knowledge of only the tribe he lives within, he doesn't know much about the outside world, how much harder it would be, or the challenges he would face if he weren't to be where he is now, when it comes to providing for the tribe and helping them, he is always seen as the one making the plans along with his friend. He can figure out a way to give them the best chance of getting the best outcome, which in the end, is what they want and what they are doing it for. If it comes to hunting, when they find their prey, he'll point out the best places to attack from, to cut the weak off from their group, and even how to get past the defense system of the strong and protective, to get the weak and old they are guarding. He makes these plans to protect them, but at the same time, help them and make them win.

--

history >> Mackenzie was born into a large tribe - a town, almost like it. He was born with his loving mother, his not-so-loving father, and his older sisters - four of them. This was the family's first son, and what the mother was hoping for...although no sister was too pleased about this.
As a young pup, he was often the subject to their teasing, their mean words, while his father 'trained' him - took his out and tried to beat the weakness out of him, which ended up making it worse. The pup was fragile, breaking bones easily, and sometimes he would come home to his mother with broken bones after his father or sisters had been a little too rough.
Apart from his mother, he did have a friend when he was young, and even today they remain friends - Flower. She had been abandoned, but taken in by the lead hunter of the tribe, and so when he met her, he thought her to be rather strange - not having her biological parents, but he deemed her nice enough, and the two, after a few days, quickly bonded and became friends.
Not many other wolves in the tribe liked him - even when he became a teenager and began his training, some didn't accept him, like his father and sisters, but he had learnt to not give up because of them - so despite them, he kept going, following his orders, even if it was more then the average apprentice.
Towards the end of his training, at the age of fifteen, a large argument had gone over the tribe - their territory was too small to hold so many wolves, and so they had come down to two choices - to leave, or to stay. Of course, the tribe was rather split on the choice, and the tribe elders and leader had no idea which direction to go, for they were split on the choices themselves.
That was, of course, until Mackenzie's mother rose about them - she declared they could no longer live in harmony, and that maybe the best thing for them to do, was to split. This caused an uproar within the large tribe - but the elders listened to her words, and decided she was right - so each member of the tribe would decide what they wanted to do - to stay or to go - by casting stones.
Two piles of stones were made that day, and decided which wolves would stay, and which would leave. Of course, the majority of the adults, including his father and sisters, decided to stay. But others, like Flower, the elders, most of the apprentices and Mackenzie's mother herself decided to go - into the vast world and find their own territory. Mackenzie too was one of those to go, and according to the wolves who stayed, even family members, it was good that they left - for it 'separated the strong from the week'.
But their journey was not easy, many lost their lives during the years travel, including some friends Mackenzie had made. The harsh weather, exhaustion and lack of food made it almost impossible to keep going - but they did, for a solid year.
And it paid off, for they found a forest rich with game, supplies, areas to make their camp, and although the forest came with predators, like all forests did, they managed to stay out of their way for the most part, and do even now. When they first arrived, they held vigil for those who had lost their lives, as well as promoted ready apprentices to full members of the new tribe. The day after, they had to decide a leader.
None of the adults, however, wanted to take that role - Flower's adopted mother, and Mackenzie's mother were the two top choices, but neither wanted the role, for they were happy as they were - so of course, they chose their own children.
Leadership had never been something to think about for Mackenzie, but here he was now, competeting with Flower - in the end of their challenges and tasks they had to take, Flower had won. Mackenzie wasn't sad, he never wanted to be the leader, and now while he was more respected by the tribe, he did become her second in command, unoffically, as he did help if she needed it, and that continues even today.
However, after the leader was decided, his mother decided to leave - this place was nice, but she had taken rather fondly to the travel, even with the fallen, and left the tribe soon after they arrived. Of course, this did upset her son, who had almost no trace of where she was going, or no clue to if she would survive out there, but he never dwelled on it, for he couldn't let himself and the tribe down with his feelings.
He stayed strong.

--

relationship with flower >> Flower is his tribemate, his best friend, and now, his tribe leader. He follows under her rule, and since they have known each other for so long, he understands her more then most others. They seem to have a connection as friends, a bond much stronger then most, although it doesn't go more then friendship. Mackenzie has been there for her rough times, and she has been there for his, they have supported each other, and if he were to admit it, Mackenzie would say that in the end, Flower had saved him from a most horrible fate, for she had picked him up when no one else would. And so he is forever loyal to her, and most protective over her, he will not let anyone harm her if he can help it, and if someone does harm her for no reason he will make sure that wolf pays the price for what he has done - if it be one way or another, he would get his revenge for her.

relationship with sasuke >> Sasuke is the adopted brother of Flower, and although he has only met the wolf once for a mission they needed him for, he can clearly say he dislikes him. The rest of his family is fine - he just finds Sasuke to be a jerk, to put it simple. Sure, they have only had the one meeting, and even then they only spoke a few words before he let him be, but he knows there is something that he can't like about that wolf, something telling him, his instinct, on not to trust him, and so he follows that instinct and doesn't trust the darker wolf - the same for his brother Itachi, he can just feel some sort of dark energy flow from the two brothers, and so he knows to keep his distance from them - but if Flower had been speaking to them, he would make sure to hang around, because while he believes they wouldn't do anything, he can never be too careful, especially when it concerns the tribe.

relationship with family (parents and older sisters) >> Mackenzie's relationship with his family is rather...strained. Out of all six of them, his mother would have to be his favourite - she was his comfort, the wolf he more followed and looked up to, the one who helped him be who he is today. She was the wolf who did that, while he has rather opposite opinions on his father and four sisters. His father was rather harsh, cold, and mean to him when he was young, despite being his own son - he hated how he was weak and fragile, and almost try to knock it out of the young wolf. Mackenzie's older sisters were around this enviroment, and in the end, turned out like their father, harsh and cold to their brother, sibling bullying but a lot worse. The father never told the daughters off - it was always mother's job to make them leave him alone to his own things. But they rarely ever stopped - now he has no connect to any of them, not even his mother.

--

why do i want this wolf Well, to be honest, when he was first released I didn't - I knew they would have tough competition for them, and I was already trying for a christmas wolf, so I decided to wait, and limit myself down to the amount of tryouts I have. But once I found out who was doing my ss wolf, Flower, and once I saw that little preview headshot, a character idea instantly sprang into my head - I had decided she would wear a radio tracking collar, and that she would be the leader of a small tribe. And as I kept looking back at this guy, I thought it would be a good idea to make some of my own rpws apart of the tribe, which would be easy if any of my wolves were blank slates. However, as I kept thinking about it - despite his appearance, the character I had in mind suited this guy, to be part of the tribe, close friends with the leader, it sounded great in my mind, and gives a rather not-very-used idea for the form. Of course, I did fall in love with his design, but it was that character concept I had which helped me connect first, and this wolf seemed to fit the bill, so after a few days I decided to try, making me end up where we currently stand now, at the end of my form.

I'm so sorry about my slowness on judging this, everyone. I just want to say this: I loose motivation to judge comps when people PM me and bump the thread a bit. Some of which before a month and one PM was sent to me not even a week after judging is closed. I understand if it's been over a month, but a week or so? All I ask is that you please be patient! :> Thanks.

I know it's no excuse, but I have a life outside of CS and I'm really struggling and this was one of the last things I needed to worry about. I don't want to go into detail, so please don't ask or anything of that sort. Still, I sincerely apologize for the delay on judging. ;v;

First off, I just wanted to point out that although I enjoyed your form, ❁WallFlower❁, you have been disqualified. :< You had edited your form way after this was closed for judging. I know for sure that there was no website there when I had closed for judging. You even said "I spent a good 30 minutes revamping everything to make it better" when you last edited on January 7th. January 7th. I know you worked hard, but it's only fair to everyone else. I had begun to judge multiple times (yet never completed, obviously) and you had edited your form about two weeks after I closed the contest. It's just not fair to those who followed my post of this being closed. I'm sure others wanted to edit their forms when I closed this contest, but I had closed it and you weren't supposed to edit your forms further. My apologies! I'm sorry if you were under the wrong impression, but I can't do anything about that as it was out my control. I'm just being fair. ;D;

I'd also like to give a shout out to Firedancer77. Once again, you came very close! However, I couldn't help but feel something was lacking from your form. I felt like how you gave the traits and then put them into a paragraph didn't really... satisfy me? I guess that's a way to say it. I would have liked it if you had the traits more as an overview and then go into more depth about her personality -- not using the same exact traits as what you had already outlined. I would've liked to have seen you use different words and not just tell me a phrase or sentence about it. More elaboration would have been nice. I don't really need to have the personality traits and then you just the exact words put them into sentences. I know you did explain a little bit, but I would have liked to have seen a character with more depth. However, I did enjoy your history for her. Although a bit cliche, I thought the retrograde amnesia was interesting part to her character. I would offer you a RU, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to for this event and either way, I'm really not up to it right now. I have a lot on my plate and I have growths/NBs/whatever to finish as well.

Without further ado, I'd like to congratulate baltinator 3000! Even though I found the big blocks of texts a little difficult to read your form, I could definitely tell the quality is there. I loved the elaboration on his personality and you developed him very well in just your form. I enjoyed his backstory very much as well.

Also, if you don't have anything nice to say, please don't say it. :>

He stayed strong.

relationship with flower >> Flower is his tribemate, his best friend, and now, his tribe leader.

But they rarely ever stopped - now he has no connect to any of them, not even his mother.

why do i want this wolf Well, to be honest, when he was first released I didn't - I knew they would have tough competition for them, and I was already trying for a christmas wolf, so I decided to wait, and limit myself down to the amount of tryouts I have.

One of these days a-coming, I'm gonna take that boy's crown

Cause I am, I am a little wicked
I am, I am
Hands red, hands red just like he said

I am a little wicked

No one calls you honey when you're sitting on a throne
