. Splotchy clouds coated the sky, but between the rushing waves of distant vapor, the moon would occasionally show itself. The dusky light fell over London like pools or oases, highlighting some spots and obscuring others. The park was still bathed in the shadow of oak trees and brick buildings, but a single gleam of moonlight outlined the distant buildings in a silhouette of silver. In this dusking cityscape, Severin and Estelle stood in a lone pool of utter darkness. As Estelle approached with arm extended, Severin reached out his hand to take hers. "I would be delighted to show you," he said, "besides, the night is always full of life in its own way. Though, it is not as brash as day, it prefers to be subtle."
His hands were icy cold, with the appearance of marble, cold, smooth, and ghostly pale. He slowly led her out of the park towards the street beyond, walking with poise and confident elegance. Even as the two left the verdant park and passed through the wrought iron gate, Severin never once looked back at Thomas's corpse nor the bushes behind it. Severin was delighted, having acquainted himself with Estelle. There was some charm to the thought of hunting together. How it could extend the possibilities of what he was capable of as well as being twice less expected. He found the notion to have a great deal of style, some respectable or particular pleasant quality. He was certainly pleased. He looked around, spotting not a single soul on the surrounding street. It was getting late and the mortal population grew weary. Severin turned his head towards Estelle, speaking in hushed voice.
"You have a great sense of style," he said, "I wouldn't have considered myself so clever to disguise them as suicides. It's tragic almost, and nearly is suicide to submit one's self to such a fate as being drained of blood. I have some sort of aura that both allures and repulses humans. They can sense my ill intent. It's a bizarre behavior, so when they trust me, I find it close to suicide. I think some part of them knows, but they are too far removed from instinct." William Pendragon

William followed closely behind Duraal, apologizing shyly as the stepped through the circle and sat himself beside Duraal.He sat hunched, obviously uncomfortable with the whole ordeal. He would grow eventually to be a little more bold, but now he was young and timid, and his confidence was as equally undeveloped as he was. He drummed his fingers on the bar, looking over the multitude of glass bottles of different sizes, shapes, and colors. He thought for a little while, eventually growing sick of his own timorous disposition. After a few moments, sitting in his awkward position, he spun around on the barstool and faced the young men, having mustered up the will to talk to them. "Now, was that really necessary?" he asked, politely, but likely not a wise choice considering the crowd. 'If you're not going to have a drink, there's little point in blocking anyone going to the bar."
One of the older and larger members of the rowdy group, spat at William, who yielded no response. He simply wiped the saliva off of his cheek onto a handkerchief, making his best effort to keep a calm facade. He refolded the white piece of fabric, placing it to his side. As he set the kerchief on the wooden bar, he noticed that the drool was tinged pink with blood. Once he had noticed the red stain, he casually held it in his hand nearest to Duraal, hoping to show her without making a scene. It was odd, and he certainly wanted her to know what he had found.

As Severin took hold of of her hand Estelle couldn't help but notice how cold it was, if it wasn't so articulated Estelle could've sworn that the hand that encased hers' was carved from the whitest marble. Taking a closer glance at his face Estelle was shocked at just how pale Severin appeared in the dark of the night, the only true colour was in his irises which held the colour of drying blood. Realizing that she'd been starring too long Estelle quickly moved her gaze to the path ahead of them as they exited the park and began heading down the street towards their destination. Now out of the cover of the trees the moonlight was more prominent despite the heavy clouds that rolled across the sky creating small pools of light that stretched across the road. To anyone not a part of the supernatural world this night may have seemed eerie, a sense of foreboding hanging in the cloudy sky and yet to Estelle it was perfectly normal. What did a supernatural being have to fear from the crooks and troublemakers that wandered the streets at this hour? Why even a slight and fragile looking creature like Estelle could easily dispatch the strongest of humans, truly the only thing to fear were other supernatural creatures but even that fear had vanished as she walked beside her newfound teacher. Feeling eyes on her Estelle turned to face Severin quietly taking in both his compliment and his thoughts on the victims. "thank you for the compliment," she murmured back, besides their voices the only other sound that carried through the street was the soft tapping of their shoes on the concrete. As for the rest of his comment Estelle took some time to think on it, each time she met her next victim Estelle always had a sense that they knew what was coming that they knew who she was and what she was planning to do. "Actually I often get a similar feeling," she confessed glancing up at the starless sky, "perhaps that is why I feel that framing it as a suicide is appropriate." she explained with a soft sigh. Thinking back she had begun to frame her kills as suicides after her mother left because for her mother efficiency was far more important than any 'theatrics' as her mother referred to it. Shaking the memories from her mind Estelle focused herself back on the present, "forgive my impertinence but one thing does intrigue me, if you hide away during the day what do you do to support yourself?" Estelle asked a slight from crossing her face.I'm sorry this took so long!}}

. "I don't mind your asking," Severin said. "My lodging for the night largely depends on circumstance, but my expenses are largely paid by some investments I've made over the course of my life. When one lives so long,proper storage of money can't be overlooked. However, it's always such a hassle to change my name, but every so many years I'm afraid it becomes necessary. Such is the method of banks. I maintain a false identity to keep my vampirism out of the public eye. Certain things are best unseen, and revealing myself also endangers others like me within the city. I suppose it's why I've gotten into so many fights with the young and newly turned vampires near Whitechapel. They can't even think of themselves, let alone anyone else. Perhaps, it is why I felt such a positive reaction to you. You're lucid, a necessity for living life with any meaning, unlike those uncouth vagabonds that call themselves vampires. Truly, they are an unsightly lot."
Severin sauntered along, assuming a leisurely but no less swaggering gait. He breathed in the night air deeply, taking in every stimulus that wafted through the air. Though not entirely pleasant in nature, the scent of the city contained subtleties of candles and cologne as the two neared the upper class neighborhood. The warm breeze filled his lungs as he intentfully respired, hoping to catch the delicate fragrance of human life. Humans, to him, had a distinct but subtle presence that was almost warm, as one can smell the heat of a stove or kettle to know that it is hot to the touch. He percepted very little as the doors were locked tight and every soul was locked away with it. Just as Severin had described, each door had a copious amount of locks, enough for at least three houses of the same size. As they passed a house still lit from within by blazing orange firelight, Severin smelled the scent of wine amidst the smoke. He smiled, as a thought crossed his mind.
"It's an odd thing to mention, but this scent brings it to mind" he said, "I have discovered that those who have recently drank wine often taste of it. Obviously, I cannot partake in such indulgences as human food, but it provides a rare opportunity. Tonight, I am not hungry, but I believed it to be a point of intrigue. Hence, my expensive tastes. I wasn't certain whether you have experienced it before, but it is worth a try."

Estelle listened intently to Severin's explanation for it had more bearing on her life than even Severin himself might have known. True she was not immortal and would someday fade into the endless sleep herself however compared to humans her lifespan and aging process were wildly different, when she turned eighty Estelle wouldn't look a day over twenty-five and on it would go until she'd lived to be well over a century old. Smiling at his compliment Estelle bowed her head softly "thank you, I suppose my mother was able to teach me quite a bit in the time we were together." she replied turning back to face the street. Making a mental note of all he had said Estelle wanted to dive deeper into how he created false identities but perhaps later. Now that they were in the correct neighbourhood Estelle took her time observing the massive sprawling domaines of the upperclass,what Severin had said about the locks was true and something that Estelle hadn't ever really payed any mind to in her day to day life. With power came paranoia as Estelle had always thought and it seemed that the plethora of locks on each door confirmed it. It seemed that the murders had led most of the higher class to abandon their lavish parties to shut themselves up in their homes. One house however was lit up with the warm light that more often than not signalled a party of some kind. It was then that Severin once again spoke causing Estelle to turn her face back towards him. Tilting her head ever so slightly Estelle felt a mischievous smile cross her face "monsieur, I do believe you're inviting me out for a drink," surprising even herself with her teasing tone, "Very well, the idea you've posed is an interesting one and I would be remiss to dismiss it." she said the mischief fading from her eyes only to be replaced by intrigue.

Severin smiled coyly in response. "Well," he said, "suppose that I do invite you out for a drink. Tomorrow night, perhaps? I have time enough as I'm sure you're aware of. If you ever name a time, I shall come." Severin gazed at the glowing panes of glass, wondering who might be inside. The warmth of the fire seemed almost inviting, but Severin quickly dismissed the temptation. He found it easy to sneak in to the usual party. Invitations were often so haphazard that none could catch his sudden appearance, no matter how odd. This was different however. The low burning fire indicated some sense of intimacy, the crowd would solely consist of the host's closest friends. It was hardly inconspicuous to make a showing. In addition, he was uncertain of his ability to be welcomed in. Then, a thought crossed his mind. He knew Estelle to be unlike a vampire and may have fewer weaknesses. If she could invite him into various buildings, then he would have little need to persuade wary humans. They could be useful to one another and prove a force to be reckoned with.
"It may seem a little unrefined," Severin said, "but have you ever showed up for something you were never invited to? There's some sort of charm to being the uninvited guest. If you look dapper enough, no one pays mind. I've done it a few times, just to see if I could. It's no great feat. It's astonishingly easy. It makes me wish they hadn't frightened themselves off. I do miss their lavish and bustling parties. One has to maintain the current fashion somehow. Perhaps one of my best choices was wearing more recent clothing. I've met vampires who only wear the attire of the century they were born into, but it's such an odd and blatant look. It is more respectable to blend in. Though of course, with a touch of individuality."
Severin paused a moment, thinking. "Estelle," he said, "I am tempted to spend the day out tomorrow. It's a rare thing for me, but I think that visiting a few of the cafes around the town would offer some news and potentially rumors. They're always good fun, so long as I can put up with the sunlight for a few hours. Besides, I may catch news of a coming dance or whatnot. Some entertainment for the evenings. I shall see if it's cloudy out. Wearing shades always draws too much attention. I am asked far too many questions as to why I wear them, as they are so rare. Usually, I can attribute it to some false disease or sensitivity. It suffices, but is still such a hassle."

Lynn made no move to react at the Kitsune's forgetfulness, patiently listening to as he finished his request. "Yes...I think I know the area you mean..." She quickly turned and started walking, intending for the traveller to follow. The route she took was not a normal one for her, since her companion wasn't capable of walking through solid objects. There was also the matter of avoiding places where she knew the detectives would frequent - although they may not look out of the ordinary, most detectives were able to sense when the supernatural were out of place.
The majority of the journey was in silence, the ghost not really knowing how to converse with another being as she had been alone for most of her time. As they neared the area, the lights got brighter and more and more people filled the streets. Lynette flinched, though slightly as not to attract unwanted attention, and kept to the darker edges of the streets. The ghost let out a sigh. This many people made her quite uncomfortable. Still, she had made a promise to help, so she tried her best not to show her discomfort to her companion.
"I apologise if the silence...disturbs you..." She suddenly stated to the Kitsune, even surprising herself. "Being as I am...I don't really find the point in conversing..." The pair were nearing what seemed to be a crowd of carriages. "A party..." Lynn turned to face the man behind her. "Perhaps...this is where you are meant to be? It seems...to be a...high key event." She quickly stepped into the shadow of a nearby building to avoid a group of ladies, as well as to lessen the feeling of weakness she was getting from being under lamplight for longer than she was used too. "If we could...may we rest, for a while?" She asked, hoping the strain in her voice was not too noticeable. The Kitsune seemed kind, she hoped he would understand that the light wasn't too healthy for her.

Hearing Severin's invitation Estelle couldn't help a light blush dusting her cheeks, in her twenty-three years no one had ever invited her out for a drink...at least not in this sort of context. She'd only ever joined either the family she was working for or her victims in a drink, as a governess Estelle tried to maintain an image of modesty and decorum; a governess with a history of scandal was hardly likely to retain her employment. "I shall keep that in mind." Estelle murmured following Severin's gaze to the window watching the lights flickering through the window. For a moment silence settled over the pair of creatures, not an awkward one to be sure but rather a peaceful one making Estelle just a little more comfortable in Severins' presence. The silence broken swiftly by Severin Estelle was a little startled by the question, the answer of course was very simple; no she had never come to a party uninvited unless you counted being dragged along by her employers to look after their children for the beginning of the evening. At the mention of fashion Estelle couldn't help but smile a little, as with many of London Estelle's occupation governed her wardrobe and though tonight she'd purposefully dressed plainly there were only one or two with a little more embellishment that could be fit for a party. Severin however appeared to be on the opposite end of the spectrum, his suit was finely tailored and the fabric was gorgeous and to top it all off he wore it with such confidence that Estelle was daily sure he could make rags seem fit for a king. Her name being called drew Estelle back to the present conversation, tomorrow? Smiling Estelle could see herself reflected clearly in Severin's maroon gaze "I must confess that this does sound like quite the adventure," she began, "in truth I have never gone to a party uninvited nor does my occupation warrant the latest trends in fashion but I am truly intrigued." With a slight nod of her head Estelle's smile twisted into one with more mischievous roots, "the children I look after are taking a trip to the country for a day or two with their parents and to cut costs they've decided to leave me behind." she explained her voice betraying the irritation she felt at the decision clearing her throat Estelle regained her composure, "this of course means I'll be free from tomorrow afternoon on."

"Oh, well let us consider it lucky then!" Severin exclaimed. "I should think you would enjoy a way to pass the time, and I am so accustomed to entertaining myself, it would be a pleasure to have a guest." Looking over Estelle's dark shining hair and soft yet distinct features. Though she carried herself with modesty (at least by Severin's standards), there was something remarkable about her. She was lithe, yet strong in build, which intrigued him greatly. Perhaps he hadn't seen it in her before, but now under the silvery moonlight, he became aware of her sheer beauty. To him, it was a beauty best fit for the night, not unlike his own. This gave Severin pause where words had found themselves. For a moment, he was quiet, admiring her form in the dusky light. It took him a moment to find his voice again. Though confident, he bore a sort of dignity that quieted him, feeling as though he must feel the words on his tongue before he spoke them, lest they present themselves awry. He began slowly. "I hope it isn't too forward," he said, letting each word linger with deliberation of thought, "but I've already said so many things tonight that have gone unspoken in so long. It feels out of place since I've so recently met you, and there's something marvelous about you that I just can't put to words. I just have to say_" He smiled briefly, before whispering, "you're absolutely beautiful." After having delivered the words, he bit his lip, suddenly seeming uncharacteristically shy. However, this quickly passed, and he regained a more solid composure and a less emotive countenance. "Sorry, that was awfully quick," he said, turning his gaze to the silver lined clouds above.
