"So, how did it go?" The tom asked Beechpelt with a smile. Maybe she is joining Snowclan! He wasn't sure why, but the thought filled him with excitement. Maybe because she is my friend, or we are becoming friends.

Beechpelt looked at him and flicked her ears forward, smiling at him. "She's announcing my arrival tomorrow! She's letting me join!" Her green eyes glimmered with excitement and she was happy that he seemed to like her enough to continue talking to her. Maybe he liked her more than he let on?
