Zalean (Zale) Carter | Age 17 | Male | Mutant | Student

Getting bored of staring out his window, he stood. He contemplated grabbing a jacket. It was autumn, the usual season for the beginning of the school year. So it was a little chilly outside. But he figured he didn't really need a jacket, being covered in fur and all. With a sigh, Zale stuck his hands in his pants pockets and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. He'd asked for a single dorm, not really wanting to share his room with anyone. He figured he'd go see who the new students were this year.

He looked over the top of his book to notice someone had sat across the table that stood in front of the couch. They had horns, from what he could actually see of them over the table. Marrow assumed the other was male. He was about to go back to reading whatever he was reading when the Faun asked what he was reading. He closed the book, using his finger as a bookmark, and looked at the front. It read Eldest (The second book in the Eragon series. It was the first fantasy book I spotted on my shelf, so I'm using that). "A book called Eldest," he said nonchalantly before reopening it and reading again.

He was becoming impatient. He'd been sitting on this bus for what seemed like forever. Though it'd only been three hours, it sure felt like years. He was excited to find out more about this school. He almost jumped out of his seat when the bus pulled up to the front of the school. He waited, tapping his foot, as the driver slowly opened the door. He walked quickly down the isle of the near empty bus. He gave a quick thanks to the driver before jumping off the bus and slinging his back over his shoulders. He was awestruck at the size and beauty of the academy.

Surrexit (Surr) | 16 | Male | Sorcerer

Surr stood outside on the steps watching the buses pull up. He saw a new student jump excitedly off of one of the buses. He watched while the new student looked at the school, laughing a little to himself. He was much the same on his first day, so it was funny seeing the same behavior in someone else.
Hello yes I art stuff. I don't really want any pets except for rares and dragons, but they aren't for free. I do overpay for rares and higher and dragons, but I don't really want any other pets other than those.

the number six followed antheia trough her entire life. she was the sixth sibling, born at six am, six minutes and thirty-six seconds; her mother was in six car accidents ever since her birth and her uncle had six scars on his left hand from an assault. their house number was sixty-six, and on an alphabetical list of kids in her kindergarten class, she was sixth. it was her sixth birthday when her family abandoned her and father giacomo - the priest that took care of her - died on the sixth of june, at six pm. six, six, six. it was always six; the devil's number, the cursed number, the unlucky number, the number of death and tragedy,... call it whatever you want, but one thing is sure - six was definitively not antheia's lucky number.

that is one of the main reasons antheia was currently standing in the middle of the housing wing's hall, mouth gaping wide open and eyes widened to the size of saucers, staring at the intricately decorated mahogany door in front of her. no, she wasn't marveling at the detailed woodwork of the door (although that was pretty amazing too) nor was she waiting for a fly to fly into her mouth. after a couple of seconds of being frozen and staring at the door like an idiot, she groaned and massaged her temples.

a small silver-plated plate was placed smack dab in the middle of the door, with a cursive number engraved on it. six.

a sigh escaped her lips as her gaze returned to said door, silently praying that her eyes were just playing tricks on her and hat the number would change or disappear if she rubbed her eyes and looked at it again. no such luck, though. the number was still deeply engraved into the plate, and antheia felt as if she was doomed. completely, utterly doomed.

antheia even considered making a quick trip to the school's administration and asking for a change of rooms - any room, as long as it did not have the number six in it. the number already brought so much misery to her life and she did not want it to ruin even more of it. and yet, would the school administration actually pass her request if she submitted it without reason? would they believe that her life was terrible just because of one measly number? no, they probably wouldn't. she could try convincing them that being repulsed by the number six was just an angel thing, but antheia knew that they wouldn't even nibble that kind of bullcrap bait.

perhaps she could say that the room wasn't suitable for alfie? glancing sideways at the great pyrenees laying down next to her luggage, she sighed and shook her head. that wouldn't work either - they specifically gave her a large room that was optimized for large pets. dammit.

she gave one last glance at the door before finally opening it, pulling her luggage along with her and alfie following after her. antheia closed the door behind her and looked around the room; it was rather plain and simple, but large enough for her liking and with all the necessaries she needed for dorm life. she dragged her luggage to the side of her bed and sat down on it, a frown tugging at the corners of her lips. she didn't like this. she didn't like this at all.

she had no other choice though. changing rooms was out of the question.

"guess i'll have to deal with it, huh," she muttered as she stood up from her bed and took the leash that was tied around one of the suitcase's handles and clipped it onto alfie's collar. if she absolutely had to stay in this room, then it would be the best if she spent more time of her school life out of it than inside of it. and what better way to waste time than taking alfie out for a walk? who knows, maybe she'll even make some friends or acquaintances on her first day here.

and so, she exited the room with alfie's leash in one hand and her keys in the other. locking the door behind her, she shoved said keys in one of her pockets and started walking towards the stairs.

alfie, however, had something else in mind.

antheia gently tugged onto his leash once, twice before looking at the dog. she crouched down to his level and gently scratched the underside of his mandibulla. "what's wrong, boy?"

at the question, alfie whined and turned away from the stairs, sniffing the air and tugging away from antheia.

"what even..." she mumbled under her breath before she stood up and gently tugged back again. "c'mon boy, let's go."

however, alfie wasn't paying attention to the girl at all and was rather focused on... whatever was located at the other end of the hall. he grew restless, whining and yipping towards the other end of the hall before he started pulling towards it. hard.

now, antheia wasn't expecting this. alfie was usually rather mousey and preferred to stay quiet and submissive, so whatever caught his interest must've been really good, because he pulled so hard the leash slipped out of antheia's hand.

"alfie, hey-- NO!! ALFIE, BASTA QUESTO MOMENTO!!"

and there he was, a blur of white, running away from antheia and towards the unknown. a curse of strings escaped the angel's mouth before she started running after him. damn it. what a way to start the first day.

            "ALFIE! STOP!"

and he did. not in front of her, though. but in front of a rather... furry... dark blue... humanoid-ish creature...?

antheia did not notice him at first though - she was so focused on chasing her dog, and only after she stopped for a few seconds did she notice the male. his entire body was a navy blue color, covered by thick, short fur that looked rather soft to the touch. his face resembled some kind of feline creature, and there was a long, slender tail gently waving from side to side behind him. and yet, even with all of the fur, he still had quite a lot of hair sitting on top of his head, a shade darker than the rest of his body. he was... rather interesting and unique, so to say. antheia made a mental note that she should get used to students like these.

what snapped her out of her daze was alfie barking at the male and happily walking over to him, laying down on his feet and rolling over onto his back, as if he was asking for tummy rubs. in any other situation antheia would coo and fawn at her own dog, but this time she sheepishly rubbed the back of her head and chuckled.

"heh, sorry about alfie. he's been acting a little bit weird since we came here, but i assume it's probably because of the new environment. he seems to like you tho, which is unusual. he's never this outgoing," she said and held out her hand to the mutant - of course, not the one with the leash in it. "antheia boccini, by the way. nice to meet you!"

[ Zale's fur is actually dark purple, not navy blue. His hair is closer to navy blue than anything. ]

Walking down the hall towards the staircase, the last thing he expected, actually completely unexpected, was for a dog to come barking and running after him. He didn't even notice the dog until it actually barked. His shoulders tensed when the dog got closer, and didn't relax even when it stopped. He looked up just as an angel chased after the dog, also coming to a stop before him. The tip of his pointed tail was moving side to side in short motions, like a cat's tail when showing agitation or frustration. Zale didn't know what to think of the dog or the angel who was now offering him her hand. He glanced at it, but didn't reach to shake it. He didn't really do touching. "Zalean, pleased to meet you as well. Your dog is cool. What's his name?" he asked, trying to start a small conversation.

Surrexit (Surr) | 16 | Male | Sorcerer

Surr walked up to the new student. "Hello there." He adjusted his hood before holding out his hand. "My name's Surrexit, but you can just call me Surr. Welcome to the school." He grinned, studying his face.

The young woman had tucked herself away in the corner of the library, a small stack of paperbacks on the round table in front of her with her most recent read grasped in her fingers and held up her face, grey eyes traveling quickly across the inky scrawls of words. She crossed one leg over the other underneath the table and leaned back slightly, the chair tipping back a bit precariously as she continued to read. She probably had to go back to her dorm soon, do some cleaning and organizing for the new year, though that could wait for now, she had no inclincation to go back into that stuffy room when there was an open place like this to take solace in.
