Lia shrugged. She decided that it wouldn't be worth replying to Talyr's comment on decades...
"What else do you want to talk about?" In all honesty, she didn't really feel like having a discussion about bands in the seventies...

"Don't know. My mind's half-way dead. I can't think properly. I'm tired, but I know I won't be able to fall back to sleep once I get up." Talyr replied, then looked at the ceiling. "I never noticed how plain this room was..."

Lia blinked. How awake was he...? Might this be a chance of escape? Her mind whirred with possibilities, until she noticed that,
a) It was still very, very dark out. If she managed to get outside, and into the woods, her chances of finding the cottage before Talyr found her were slim.
b)Talyr said that he would probably be awake fully if he stood up again. Damn.
c) The door was locked.
"It's not that bad..." she replied, looking around.

"It's too bare for my tastes. It needs color. And that bed spread isn't helping at all, it being a pastel, and now faded, yellow. It was brighter when we bought it." He said, then rubbed his eyes.

"Hmm..." Lia responded, studying the bedspread. Really, she hadn't noticed.
"It would be cool, if the roof was painted to match the night sky. Then, you could use lines to show the constellations." she commented, flopping down so that she was facing the ceiling, and waving her arms as she spoke.

"Yes, but that would be a lot of work. Even I couldn't do that, and I'm a relatively good artist." Talyr said while shaking his head lightly. He closed his eyes once again, though he wasn't asleep. He was just thinking right now.

"True, true." Lia replied, and sat back up.
"What time is it..." she looked dozily at the clock.

"When I came in, it was a little past midnight. It's probably later now." Talyr said, still not opening his eyes. His voice was flat, like he was near sleeping. "I'd say near one..."

"One lone witch set to death, by way of the hanging tree. One lone man, calls to his love, calls to her on the hanging tree..." Lia said drowsily, almost unaware that she had said it.
"Wow...did I say that out loud? I'm sorry. It's a very depressing scene." she continued when she realized that she had, indeed, said it.

Talyr partially opened his eyes, then shrugged. "Oh well. There are more depressing things in the world." He said, then closed his eyes once again. "Many things that are more depressing."
