I am shamefully one of those who have aging horses and an almost inability to do anything with them. My problems lie in the fact that I could not be active for several key months so therefore lost many opportunities. I've been slowly trying to get re-involved but it feels like a slow and painful process. I have a couple of beautiful horses that never got to see much of the light of day - and I would love a remedy for that. There's just no way to make up that time - in training, showing, events. And so I feel like a sitting duck. I really enjoyed the active adopts from earlier months where a creative and friendly competitive atmosphere was encouraged, and I feel the imports aren't what I need to get my stable active again - it's too store bought at the moment (I do understand the incredible value that's added by having the specific breed/stats for breeding and some showing purposes).
Of course, I stick by this Sim - it's superb and outstanding - and am always trying to be active in someway (usually just lurking, watching the threads and horses); giving suggestions; adding to discussions. Even without actively encouraging the sim along, I still try to keep up-to-date with the going ons and will continue to do so for the lifetime of RVEC.
Any possible nudges in the 'right' direction would be greatly appreciated to get back on track - My goal for my gameplay in this sim is to train and show hunters/jumpers especially warmblood types. I've been in serious need to get my act together and code my farm page - me and digital art don't work out so well, but I do have all these plans and sketches all over the place.
As always, Thank you Sydney for running an epic sim and building a realm for horse enthusiasts and creative minds to enjoy beautiful artwork and ooh & aww over stats.

I so appreciate your feedback, OutFoxed -- I wasn't sure that competition adoptions were still popular, but I clearly need to bring them back! <3 My struggle is knowing what everyone likes -- how does doing "type" weeks sound? Where one week I would release only Warmblood horses, the next only reiners, the next only pintos, etc. -- that sort of thing, so that once someone suggests it I can expand the request and make them available to everyone. Does that sound fair? I feel bad to keep guessing at popular breeds and leaving out people who just aren't looking for that sort of horse! ^^'

How about running a few different overall competitions, like one for all western disciplines - each horse gets scored on their individual discipline e.g. the ones entered in cutting get marks for that, and the ones entered in reining get marks for that, etc, and then whoever gets the most marks from thei discipline wins the overall western comp. It means you can run a comp with less actual entries becasue they are all lumped together. If one of the individual disciplines within in has a lot of entries you could also have prizes for that when it suits, but when there isn't enough something will still be going on. For the other ones you could maybe put dressage, jumping, cross country, and eventing into one 'english' comp, and then have the others clumped together too.
Let me know if I'm making any sense or if it seems plausible cx

Oh you're definitely making sense! ^^ I just don't know... It isn't so realistic and isn't fair for the horses who are phenomenal within their discipline but may not be stellar against other horses in their discipline, you know? I'd love to get these shows up and running for the monetary aspect of it, because I know things are really expensive here ^^' Would it be too much to take up a separate thread for each discipline? I'm worried that that's the only way to organize them, unless we set up a specific "entry duration" for each discipline in which only horses of that discipline could enter and after which only horses of another discipline could enter?
I'm also probably going to make a few mass rescues so that we can get a few more horses into the field c:
