"Can I have a parrot?" Lilly joked as she closed the front door behind her.

He looked at her "no." He said sternly

"Why? Are you scared of parrots too?" Lilly asked and crossed her arms.

Clarissa came back to the cat room as she heard Owen call her name. "I hope she'll be okay. I have Clayton's number...I'll call him," she said, getting out her phone but then thinking twice about it. "No. Wait. Let's not call him. If we can handle this by ourselves we might get a raise or you a full time job. We can handle it. First let me move the few cats that are in here over to the vet room. That way they will stop pestering Hope," she said, swooping down to grab two male cats. One went calmly and flopped over in her arms but the other one was a different story. He hissed and put scratch marks in Clarissa's arm, which almost immediately started bleeding. She sighed and walked over to the vet room, trying to hide the scratches. It was time for her to get more cats and she couldn't be worried about herself. She slowly grabbed Faith and lifted her up, hoping the cat wouldn't put up a fight.

"No, they are smelly and annoying." He laughed grabbing a bottle of water

"Like you." Lilly replied and laughed.

Owen was worried but if Clarissa thought they could do this on their own he was willing to try. "0k but if things seem like we can't anymore go call him?" He tried to sooth Hope but she didn't want anything to do with eother of them and he had some nasty scratched on his hand from trying."

Faith was not about to leave her friends side and backed up closer to Hope hissing and fighting against Clarissa.

Owen looked at what was happening and how Hope was reacting to Faith's behaviour too. "Maybe the little black cat should stay? The two are very close and she has had kittens before according to Clayton. .. Maybe she just wants to help too?"

Lilly patted his shoulder.
