That wouldn't work because I tried xd But the thing is Shes holding the pet and If I scare her /spray her/etc she would 1. Drop the pet and injure it or 2. Hold the pet TIGHTER ;-; So I really cant do anything about it except for doing the 'emergency procedure' (closing the door and telling her to let them go) which takes really long.

Just wanted to let everyone know I have opened a Novice trick dog Spark team, but it won't actually begin until June 1, as I am currently away from my dog due to school. Let me know if you want to join! :D

@DOS I am sorry that neighbor you ran into was being difficult. I know tons of people like that... I have a friend with an aggressive dog and she will have him leashed. She sees someone else and tries to leash him and they say, " Oh, it's okay my dog is friendly!" and then she is like, " Lol.... well mine isn't." Yet they continue to let their dog intrude in it's face. It really bothers me but sometimes you can't get to people. As for your little brother... accidents happen and hopefully your family understands that. My mom's Shih-Tzu snapped at my niece, his tooth scrapped up against her arm. She was like 1, and he was 8 I believe. He had already started developing arthritis and we told my sister to keep my niece away from him because he was starting to get grumpy. Well my niece slapped him in the face by accident and he snapped at her. Now that she is a lot older ( 6 ) She is no longer scared of him. But my older sister hates him and is awful to him. Sometimes we can't prevent things like that, but moving out will probably help you a lot. Are you able to do that?

Well, I am meeting up with my moms groomer today. She is going to be cleaning Izzy's glands and then also showing me how to groom Addy properly. It is so nice of her to do this. I can't wait for the summer when I actually get to work with her :)

^ On the subject of off leash dogs....
I took Mary for a nice, long walk today. Most of the dogs we came across were off leash and were called away or put on leash when we came closer, as I made sure to say that Mary isn't fond of other dogs and as we've only had her a week and a half we're not sure what her threshold is. One woman had a dalmatian and as soon as she saw us, he came bounding over and she was like "he's friendly!" and I was like "well mine isn't."

Her reply was "It'll be okay, because he's a boy and your's is a bitch."

Like, really? Dog aggression is dog aggression and I'd rather not test Mary's boundaries while it's just me with her. Thankfully, nothing happened, but he was definitely in her face and she was growling so much that it was vibrating up through the leash. She was clearly uncomfortable and I got out of there as soon as I could, but it really annoyed me :/

Yeah, I know this feeling. My Lara is afraid of other dogs, so when I see other dogs, I simply keep her on the leash. It's really annoying when somebody comes with their dog and it's off the leash and they say "don't worry, he's friendly and won't bite. Let them play together, take off the leash". Yeah, great. I keep my dog on a leash because of something. I told this person that my dog is aggressive, but they just didn't listen. Everything changed when Lara snarled at the dog and tried to bite it. I told them she's aggressive! It's really annoying when other people act as if they know your dog better than you do. And it makes my training with her a lot more difficult, because after something like that she's really nervous.

My sweet, loving, well-mannered seven month old boxer/husky mix puppy got hit by a car the night before last... please, please, please, if you drive, always look at the side of the road and don't speed.

Ajax got a fractured jaw and all of his front teeth knocked out, with the exception of one canine holding tight. He's lost so much of his puppy spirit but I've got my fingers crossed that as he gets better, his beautiful inner spirit will come back through.

This is one of the hardest experiences of my life. I couldn't move when it happened, couldn't breath. Thankfully he's home again, eating well and doing his best to drink despite his immense pain.

I reiterate... if you drive, please be careful.

So I started off the day going to visit that dog groomer. She taught me how to groom Addy. It was an amazing experience and she let me do it all on my own. She would turn the clippers off, show me what to do and then have me do it myself. So it's not perfect but she sure looks a heck of a lot better than she did before. She just looks more trimmed up and not as shaggy. She also taught me how to blend and all of that stuff, so I am super excited to continue working with her this summer.

And then the dogs and I walked to the park ( took about 30 minutes) and worked on Addy's "off-leash" walking. Basically just working on her recall and making sure she stays fairly close. She did a really amazing job!! Going on a hike tomorrow morning so I am hoping the same thing happens!!

And then when I got home I realized I forgot my keys inside the house. My mom locked up the house and was gone shopping for groceries... So worked on some stays in the front yard with distractions. Also got a couple of cute photos :)
