meet rosalie gunnhild, a reserved young woman who is rather shy and a bit of a closed book. despite keeping to herself where personal matters are concerned, rosalie has a heart of gold and is completely selfless, always putting others first and constantly being drawn to those in distress; she'll drop everything she's doing to help a friend. bright and cheerful, she's sweet and gentle, priding herself on acting like a true lady despite her low ranking among the kingdom's residents- she's the daughter of a seamstress and not much else. now, her kind and soft nature often proves to be a problem as she lets others take advantage of her way too much, she's too submissive and forgiving for her own good and rarely learns from her mistakes where others are concerned. naive and hopelessly romantic, rosalie is considered to be an attractive young woman and consequently attracts herself a bit of attention, some of which is sort of unwanted- as i mentioned previously, she's shy. because of her habit of falling head over heels too easily, rosalie will misunderstand flirting and charming as something more genuine even if it isn't, leading to her getting hurt. she may be twenty four, but she often acts as if she's still growing up. she's not a total wet blanket, though, as rosie can be witty and has quite the sassy streak.

xxxCold and broken-hearted, Jude is a difficult man to get to know well. He's been around long enough
that nothing beautiful lasts in this world. Jude grew up with his father only, as his mother died when
he was very young. He was taught in his father's trade of blacksmithing, so he's always been handy
with a tool. When Jude was a young man, he was enrolled in the king's army at first as a craftsman,
then as a fighter. He was stationed in a small village as a guard when he met his first love. She was
the daughter of a wealthy merchant, but despite his lack of rank or wealth, she agreed to marry him.
Alas, it was not to be. When Jude asked permission from her father, he immediately refused, outraged
that such a lowborn commoner would have the nerve to ask for his rich daughter. She was later engaged
to a lord and Jude never had contact with her again. He was mocked by his fellow guards and those of
the village, to the point that he almost killed the merchant in blind anger. Jude was swiftly removed from
the army and sent home. He became a quiet, yet bitter person and moved out into the country to keep a
farm. His farm lies rather close to the castle and supplies the court with food, but Jude tries to avoid the
royals as much as he can. They often remind him of the higher lord who stole his true love, and he fears
that he might find love where he should not once again if he lingers in that which he does not belong.
