this is what he will look like in a few years or so, he's still a baby (5 months) so he looks more like a panama currently. Now i know some amazons tend to get a bad rep (they get very hormonal and moody, like a teenager, stupid sexual maturity) but if maintained properly these guys are said to be absolute clowns and show offs!

Oh wow they're so beautiful!!! We have some at our store that we take in from people who don't want them and they are ALWAYS hormonal and aggressive. I'd rather get bit by a macaw than an amazon XD But I hope he is good to you!!

How long have you had them?: I got him on Boxing day, so under a Month.
What brings you to the bird chat?: Right now I want advise. I'm trying to get him to trust me. He'll come onto my hand if I have seeds in it, and I haven't given him any food that day. I want to be able to play with him, but I need a treat that he likes. How do I know what he likes? I've tried putting apple, banana, grape, sultana and sunflower seeds on my hand with the other seeds that he likes, but he just ignored them. I want to have some kind of treat to give him. I also want him to trust me, and to be able to play with him, but he'll only come onto my hand if I feed him. What should I do?

@Spanner, he's still new in the environment and still new to you, so just give it time. It could take a month it could take a year for a bird to finally trust you depending on how you handle it and when. Food is a great motivator to your bird, but don't starve it into seeking your hand for food, still give it enough food in its bowl at all times. Millet Spray is great for smaller birds and they love it! I can get my Lovie to do any new task with some help from Millet! Also, take it slow for sure. You don't want to rush things and get off on a bad foot, if you see he isn't comfortable try to stop what you're doing and try again later(:
