i really dont think chara is evil at all. obviously in the genocide run they do some nasty stuff, but it's pretty heavily hinted that you awaken/get possesed by chara in any run, hence landing on their grave in the ruins & their narrations. when asriel died after he absorbed chara's soul, chara's soul was destroyed too. if flowey lost his compassion from being soulless then so did chara - this is probably why they didnt regret killing the entire underground.

I could agree no less. It seems like a nice theory, and all, too. I am more of an observant person when it comes to theories, and what I can find on hintings to see if they are true or not. There are theories that seem that are incorrect, like my riverperson and gaster one, or other bad ones that i I made up.

yeah, true. actually one of my favorite theories is that sans is human, even though there are huge holes in it & seems unlikely.
continuing on with my chara theory, it becomes easier to sympathize with the genocide ending once you understand the relationship of asriel & chara. [transparent again] in true pacifist, we learn that chara hates humanity, and found a loving home among monsters. assuming that chara loves the dreemurrs as their own family, it's safe to guess that their plan to kill themselves, have asriel take their soul, and go to the surface to "collect" (by killing) six more human souls and break the barrier is because they want to free the monsters from their underground prison. however, once their plan starts being executed, asriel backs out of it, resulting in both of their deaths, a loss of hope, and several more years trapped underground. chara placed all their trust in asriel, whom they thought was their best friend, the only person who understood them, and they were almost betrayed. there's probably some bitter feelings between them.

i really think chara is such an interesting character and concept. i love analyzing them & their purpose in the story, and i think they're quite misunderstood.
