With a huge smile on her face, Jenny ran up to greet her friend. It had felt like ages since the two had last seen each other, despite the fact that it had really only been a couple months, with frequent owls sent between them all summer. Jenny felt like the best part of going back to school in September was seeing her friends again.

" I didn't see you on the train! Where were you? Oh, I'm so glad to see you again! "

"Jen!" Calico switched her flip-flops to her other hand as she one-arm hugged her best friend she hadn't seen all summer because Calico had visited family in The States. Owls were just not the same. Calico giggled sheepishly, "I missed the train, so I had to use The Knight Bus." She pulled away and dropped her flip-flops and scooted a foot into each. "Excited for our last year!?"

" Yeah! " she said, though with a slightly sad smile. " I'm sure going to miss this place, though... " Her bittersweet smile turned happier again as she thought of what the upcoming year would be like. " Let's make sure to make our last year the best year yet! "

Calico frowned, "It's gonna go so fast; It's a scary thought." Calico then smiled, "any plans for this year?" Calico knew she'd have to work hard so she could pass her N.E.W.Ts, but she also wanted to make the year fun with Jen so it would be a memorial last year. She looked up at the castle and started walking toward the Great Hall.

" Get the highest marks I can get, impress everyone, eventually become a teacher... " She grinned sheepishly. " What can I say? They put me in Ravenclaw for a reason. " With a good-natured laugh, she followed her friend toward the Great Hall.

The Gryffindor shook her head at her Ravenclaw friend, "yeah yeah yeah, well I, personally, am very happy of being a mighty lion! I think I fit it rather well. "You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart"" Calico laughed as she skipped in a circle, finally walking backwards so she could see and talk to Jen.

Once they reached the Great Hall, Jenny waved goodbye to Calico and made her way to the Ravenclaw table. As always, new students were sorted, food was served and eaten. Everyone then went quiet as Professor Dumbledore stood up to speak. Most of what he said was what he usually did, except for one curious part.

" I would like everyone to be aware of the fact that there have been multiple vampire attacks near Hogsmeade. Because of this, until further notice, there will be no trips allowed there. Do not worry, Hogwarts will be perfectly safe. "

There were many concerned murmurs in the crowd, but after Dumbledore's speech the happy chatter quickly resumed.
