Hello! I'm ~Silver, a proud owner of 3 dolls currently that I all love and cherish deeply in my heart. I welcome you to my form for adopt 103, or aka the fallen angel and I hope that you enjoy reading what I have put together for these 2!

I will warn you ahead of time though that the history of these 2 is the longest and most well-thought out story that I have ever written. I tried to put some images in it so you may not get too bored by it and so that you can have something to look at while reading and enjoying the story of these 2.

Anyways I'll let you continue learning about the history of this angel and bird.

Mason Rodwell:
"The "true" holy one"

Image

Name: Mason Rodwell
Known as: Mason
Origin: French
Meaning: Stone worker, brick layer
Gender: Male
Sexuality: unknown
Age: Appears 24 but has no true age

Personality:

Mason is a very mysterious and curious doll
to say the very least. He's often found
roaming around the Dollhouse with a
mistified look on his face- a look that tells
everyone that he is in his own world with
Thomas inside of it with him. Mason's a very
dependent doll who often uses Thomas for
support for just about anything. If he came
in contact with a doll, though, he would
begin to need them in his life as well. He's
dependent only because the Dollhouse
confuses him greatly and it overwhelms the
former angel. Mason's often confused and
looks like a lost child when him and Thomas
are outside of their little "home." Since he
was an angel who had fallen, he wasn't
used to the changed in the world that he
had missed and is now trying to catch up
with society. This is why he is dependent
and confused a lot and requires Thomas
and other dolls to help guide him around.
When talking to him though, you can tell
that he's very cautious with his words. This
is because he was cursed to only tell the
truth to everyone. When Mason first fell,
that's all he did and he realized that the
truth was too much for some dolls to take.
It greatly made Mason upset and he decided
that it was better to just be quiet unless
someone sincerely wants to just have a
normal conversation. He's very nice and
friendly though, despite his sadistic looks.
Around his best friends he's very creative
and loves to express himself in his home.
He's also very loyal to those that he may
look up to- loyal to the point that he would
do anything for them within a second.
Mason's much more bubbly around his
friends and likes to try to go on adventures
with them. To their dismay, though, he is
very childish and ends up getting them stuck
in all kinds of situations. Because of his
childish behavior, it brings his friends closer
to him in the end. Mason's also well known to
be the "guardian doll" over the dolls in the
dollhouse because he cares for every single
one of them individually in his own little way
and if any of them were to be harmed or get hurt,
he would always be there to protect them.
In return, the dolls decided that they would help
him in his slow quest to adjust himself to his
surroundings. Overall, Mason is a soft child in an
adult doll.
Thomas
"The hidden guardian"

Image

Name: Thomas
Origin: Aramic
Meaning: Twin
Gender: Male
Sexuality: none
Age: Undetermind
Came from: Mason's feather when he fell.

Personality:

Unlike Mason, Thomas is often looked at as an
aggressive and hateful shadow who only loves
his doll at first glance. This is because Thomas
personally saw what Mason went through and
how broken and hurt he was at first when he
fell onto Earth. He’s protective of Mason and
is usually found on his shoulder or wing
puffing himself up to look really scary. Once
Mason warms up to someone, (which really
isn't that hard) Thomas likes to get
everyone’s attention by flapping in front of
their faces to try to make them laugh.
Around other shadows, he likes to playfully
peck them or even give them little rides on
his back since he tends to be a little bit
bigger than a majority of the shadows.
Thomas also likes to take things from the
other dolls and then fly off with their
belongings so that they will chase him. He's
quite silly and even a bit of a jokester
around dolls. Lately though he's taken up
to be a messenger for those who live far
away since the Dollhouse is big and Thomas
has learned some secret shortcuts
throughout the majestic house. He may not
seem like someone you would trust, but if
you earn the bird's respect then he will give
the same respect right back to you. This
shadow often wears 2 masks and usually
makes it well known that he does, for with
most people he gets along wit he is goofy
and like himself but if he doesn't like you,
he will become very serious and will give
you the "death glare" as he likes to call it.
This usually just involves him watching you
nonstop with slitted eyes until you go away
or until you confront the bird about it. It's
usually much more wise (and less
troublesome) to just get on the bird's
and Mason's good side, or else you'll be
dealing with a bird that acts like an angry
then when some naughty boys start plucking
some feathers off of her butt, except that
this bird will give you the loudest and most
horrible screech ever known to hit your
eardrums.

Thomas usually brings out Mason’s “brighter” and more playful
side to him and can be found excitedly whispering to the bird
while using his hands to tell him a story that would only make
sense to Thomas. Because of him, he is thankful that he fell
from heaven because Thomas was worth it in his eyes and he
helped him accept the fact that the angels no longer wanted
him. Thomas likes the fact that Mason always lets him sit on
his shoulder or wings since he has 6 of them and he gets to
pick which one he gets to sit on. He often likes to hop from
wing to wing playfully just so Mason can’t find him. He also
likes quietly sitting on his lap while being petted and
reading a novel with him and then discussing what they
liked about the book. The best part of their relationship,
though, is flying. Though Mason doesn’t do it much,
Thomas can always find a way to convince Mason to go
flying with Thomas. They often have races and like to make
funny shapes and messages in the clouds and then watch
some doll’s reactions and laugh about it. Mason and Thomas
have only gotten in a few quarrels before but they usually
just bicker for a few minutes before they forgive each other
and go on with their lives. Overall, though, they have a
secret and special bond that they don't plan on sharing with
anyone else.

(short 'n sweet version)

I am writing this out now because the next 3 sections are Mason and Thomas's whole life story and it is quite long and you may not be able to pick up why Mason is demonic so I will explain it here.

He is demonic because he had "supposedly" caused hurricane Katrina on purpose by crying and working with the demons down on earth, which he wasn't. He was distracted by their negative behavior and the angels' because they looked suspicious to him and he had failed his job as an angel. But, Mason had no chance to explain his behalf of the story and therefore everyone believed he worked with Lucifer, or the Devil, to bring down the angels and earth so that the Devil may rise again.

The Little Soldier Boy

Postby Lepid » Fri Jan 08, 2016 9:55 am

I faintly remember the dream that I had that night. It changes you, really. Especially for a 12-year old boy who was left to take care of his mother and his 5 year old sister. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't mind taking care of my family. In fact, I feel like my father left me on purpose to prepare me for what was to come. I'll admit, it wasn't easy to support 2 women on my own but what other choice was there? I couldn't just let them die.. I cherished them and they were all that I had left in this world full of bloodshed and gunpowder.

Believe it or not, but I was just like any other 12 year old boy. I wanted to go play on the railroad tracks, climb up a tree, race my friends, and get in trouble. My dreams weren't any different, either. After falling asleep on the floor with a thin sheet over my body, I remember that it was very sunny outside. There was a faint breeze and the scene played out in my head as I continued to sleep. It was the summer of 1878. Wild buffalo ran across the plateau as the tall grass swayed to and fro. I had always dreamed of moving out West. It seemed to be much more peaceful there than here East. There was lots of undiscovered land, animals to be discovered, materials, and probably a lot of fun places for a boy like me to go play at. I was standing in the middle of that field lost and not knowing what to do next in my dream. Usually it was obvious by now but this time it seemed to not want to show me any signs of progressing through this story my mind was making up, so I lay there on the soft and rich ground for what felt like about 10 minutes or so before I heard a faint voice. At first I just ignored it and decided that it was just my imagination, but the voice grew louder, and louder, and louder until the ground was shaking. I quickly jumped up and saw my dad in the same attire he wore when he walked out that door. He was running towards me with his arms out. I grinned and held mine out too, waiting for him to scoop me up so I could hug him and tell him that I missed him more than anything. Something seemed... Not right though. He wasn't happy looking at all. He had a look of pure horror glued to his face and he had stains of blood on him. "Dad?" I said to him uneasily as I began to shift around. The scene around me slowly started to change as he finally reached me. He put his hands on my shoulders and held me tightly as he stared into my hazel eyes. "Mason boy!" He said to me urgently.. "You have to wake up! We're losing! If you don't get up then you'll be as good as-" But he never got to finish what he was saying, for the unmistakably sound of a gun going through flesh was heard. I watched in horror as he fell and the land turned to an ugly shade of red.

Boom! The blonde-headed boy jolted out of bed sweating and panting. That was the worst dream that he had ever had, he decided. Boom! Another gunshot was heard and he realized what the dream had now been about. Jumping out of the sheet, he ran into his mother's room where her and his sister slept peacefully. "Mom! Belle!" Mason yelled as he shook them wide awake. "Mason what is it? Are you okay" His mother asked him frantically. A bullet blasting through one of their windows seemed to answer all of her questions though, for she quickly picked up his sister and was packing up what few belongings they had. Mason went and sneaked up to one of the windows and saw a few hundred soldiers raiding their town and burning it. He felt his face go pale as fear started to sink into the young body. "Mason!" His mother yelled as she grabbed his hand and ran out the back door towards the small forest, where most of the villagers were fleeing to. He quickly ran with them, if not a bit faster than his mom. The sound of vicious dogs were heard behind them though and he well knew that they would be the canines' supper if they didn't climb now.

Mason stopped in his tracks and pointed at a sturdy tree full of branches. "Climb!" He yelled to his family as he ran over to it. The dogs were getting closer and already there were screams of pain and horror echoing through the air. Mason frantically helped his sister and mom get as high up and out of sight as they could get, and then he, too, started climbing as he heard the dogs snapping at his ankles. One of them managed to grab hold of his pants and were slowly starting to drag him down to his death. Mason desperately stuck his nails into the bark as he felt the dog slowly but surely, drag him down. Mason gritted his teeth as he squeezed his eyes shut and waited to fall and be torn to shreds, but it never happened. In fact, it was all quiet now. The eerie silence fell as he opened his eyes up and turned around.

"Well, well, well!" Mason saw somebody walking up to him with a grin plastered on his face. "What do we have here?" The man said as he ordered the dogs to sit down. Mason looked at him suspiciously and still clung to the tree. Something about this man wasn't right and he was beginning to feel uneasy again. "Get down, runt!" The man snapped at him. Surprised by his sudden change of tone, Mason jumped off of the tree and stared at the dogs that had just about torn him apart just mere seconds ago. Slowly he looked up at the small group of men. They all had soldier uniforms on them that were a beautiful crimson red with gold borders around the outlining of their clothes. The man in the center, though, had the nicest outfit and didn't look as worn or dirty as the others. Mason assumed that he was the one that had led this raid and nearly killed him. "We could use more of you.." The man grumbled as he looked at him with his cold, blue eyes. Mason felt a chill go all throughout him as he stared into his deadly gaze. "You're coming with us." He declared as he barked orders to some of the soldiers to surround the boy in case he tried to escape. Seeing as he had no other choice, he left with the men, not daring to look back in case he gave away his family's position.

I remember hearing rumors about young boys going into the army. Most of them were wild and hard to believe though, so I never paid attention to them. There were a few rumors of them being kidnapped though or being blackmailed to go into the army. I mean, we were at war here and the troops needed as many boys as they could get. My father had went in place for the both of us, for he was a retired solider and was highly valued. The worst part of me being taken away from everything that I knew though, was the fact that I had to watch it all burn down. Blood was being soaked up by the ground, bodies of people I once talked to and laughed with were now all gone. I only prayed that my mom and sister could go over to the next village safely and go from there.

Meanwhile, I was being taken to the place that my father had served at. The first few months were nothing but pain, blood, and injuries. They starved us all to death and we did nothing but train to go into the battlefield next to the grown us. It was a personal hell for us and it felt like anything but us fighting for our freedom. I found out that the man who had taken me was the general. Apparently he saw something in me that the younger boys didn't have. This was all just an excuse though to make me feel better about the whole situation. I gained friends, lost them, and gained them again until there was nobody left who was as experienced for a boy my age left except for me. Of course younger boys would come in, but they were scared little weaklings who had no chance in this war. By then I had given up on making friends and decided one day that we were all going to bust out of here.

The day arrived much sooner than what Mason had expected. Apparently someone had sent a telegraph that notified the army about someone coming over for a peace treaty. This would be his big chance to save everyone! He would sneak out and would run over to the other general and tell him what horrible things were happening to people like him! Then, he would take all of the kids and would send them home. Mason's plan was brilliant and he was confident. He waited until the nightshift guards had fallen asleep before sneaking out. Mason nervously but stealthily snuck up to the tent where there was murmurs of disagreement. He sat beside the tent for hours, silently listening to them before be built up the courage to go in there. "Well... Here goes nothing." Mason whispered to himself as he jumped in and startled everyone. "Sir!" Mason said desperately to the blue-coated general. "Please take us home with you! These monstrous people have killed thousands of innocent boys like me.. I'm the oldest one here and even I am slowly dying.. Please!" Mason's general wouldn't hear of it though, and he personally dragged him out and chained him up against a pole. "Think you're so special eh?" The general sneered in his face. "Humiliating me? Making ME look like the monster here? Well then. You'll get some special treatment tomorrow." The general snarled at him before he walked back inside the tent. Mason sat all night long, shivering. Not from the cold air that stung him, but from fear of what will happen now that he upset the general.

It all seemed too soon when the sun had begun to rise up and all of the soldiers were being called to go out to the field. Silently Mason watched them all file out there, staring at nothing. What are they all doing just sitting there? He thought to himself. Before he knew it, he was suddenly blindfolded and was being pushed around by some sharp objects that jabbed into his sides. "Ow!" Mason cried out. "What are you doing? Let me go!" He gritted his teeth as he felt the world loose gravity for a second before he hit the cold and hard ground. "Ugh.." Mason groaned before he felt himself being lifted. He swayed to and fro, just like the grass did in his dream as he heard the soft hum of the general talking. It took Mason a moment before he regained his hearing, and he felt himself start to shake as he paled. "... This boy has humiliated me and now he's going to get what he deserves." Mason heard the general yell at the top of his lungs. "This is an example of what will happen if you testify against me!" Mason heard the sound of a gun being loaded and then suddenly he felt the cool metal against his head. Mason trembled as he lifted his head up towards the sky and squeezed his eyes shut as tears started to roll off of his cheeks as a gunfire was heard.

That's all that I remember of my life on Earth... It ended too soon for me. And for what? I tried saving a few souls and tried to do the right thing. I eventually met those comrades again in another life though. I didn't think it would be at such a place as this though... I think we all had our doubts about it.. But apparently it was true, for as I woke up again, there was a silver stairway that led up into the sky.

The Ascendance

That was my life before turning into what I am now. Sometimes I miss living the simple life of a boy on Earth... But mostly I don't, and I accept who and what I am. So, how does a boy like me become one of the highest angels in heaven? I'm still not exactly sure to this day. I used to think that God was using me as a test or an example of what happens when a human becomes a strong angel. Now though, I'm still not sure to this day. I usually push that to the back of my mind though and let it pile up with the rest of the stuff I don't want to think about right now...

Mason's bright eyes fluttered open and he instantly threw his arm over his eyes. "Aargh! What is that?" Mason moaned at the bright light. "Am I dead?" He asked himself before he looked around. He was still at the military and was very confused. "Why are they looking at me like that? Hellooo?" Mason waved his arms around and even made a few funny faces at them before he noticed that he was taller than them. A stairway slowly made itself present as it came down towards him. "What?" Mason was getting a bit dizzy and his head was pounding very loudly. He quickly looked down to try to relax but his jaw dropped wide open and the pain in his head got worse. "I-I'm... Dead?" He squeaked.

He felt someone's hand rest on his shoulder. "There, there child." The beautiful and motherly voice sang to him. "Do not grieve, for it is done. A better life awaits you up the stairwell." Mason turned around and as a blurry figure disappeared into thin air. "Wait!" Mason cried out, but it was too late. Sighing, the boy stuffed his hands in his pockets and slowly walked up the long stairwell, not knowing what to expect.

People have always asked me, "What is it like in heaven, Mason?" I used to be unable to come up with an accurate answer for this, but after half of a century I finally came up with the perfect way to describe it. It isn't exactly the fluffy clouded kingdom that you would expect to see. In fact, Heaven is quite divided. Most of it is for the people though to make their own world and fantasy up with their other loved ones. The other.. Smaller sections are for us angels and from there it is a pyramid of symbolizing jobs and power. I'll admit, it's all too confusing for me to explain but I'll say that it isn't what you would expect. Yes, there were rules and guidelines and yes, there were punishments, not to the people, but to the angels. I now see it as an illusion.. And see that somebody's research on the angels were a bit off. Humans do make mistakes though but something that the angels really lacked was freedom and empathy. They also never made a mistake! I guess that was something I didn't clearly see when I spent my time up there...

Mason finally got up the steps and was panting as some giant doors in front of him opened up. Instantly he felt his tears from when he had died literally burn into little black tear-stains on his face for a moment before the pain went away. Suddenly A large angel flew up to him. "Mason is it?" The angel didn't wait for him to answer though. "Today's your lucky day! Come with me and don't get lost!" The angel suddenly was zooming off and Mason was running as fast as his legs could go just to keep the angel in sight. "Please.. Slow down! " Mason was gasping for air at this point and was wishing that he could go as fast as lightning. Just as he thought that, he was right beside the angel running as quick as him. Mason's eyes widened. "Great! You're already a pro in heaven haha! Come now! The boss wants to see you!" The energetic angel suddenly stopped and Mason ran straight into some heavy doors. Surprisingly enough, he didn't feel any pain. "Bet you don't miss pain, right?" The angel laughed before opening the door back up. "Well, I've gotta go send more messages out to people! I'll keep ya in touch kiddo and see how you're holding up." The angel winked at Mason before he was off again.

"Come in." A business-like voice sounded in the room. "I don't have all day to do this." Mason did as the angel said and slowly creeped into the room. "How did I run like lightning? Why don't I feel pain? What am I doing here? What's going-" Mason's questions were cut off by the angel turning around in his spinning chair and facing him. He had 9 large and powerful wings and he looked very serious. "I don't have time for your childish questions. You'll learn as you go around most of the parts of Heaven." The angel suppressed a quiet sigh. "Why He chose you, what He saw in you.. I have no clue." The powerful angel said as he shook his head. Mason frowned at him. "What?" He seemed to be using that word a lot recently. "Nothing." The angel said as he made a bright portal. "Hop in." He said as he gestured Mason towards the bright portal. "What does this do though? Can we slow this down?" Mason asked as he looked down it, uncertain if this was a wise thing to do. "No. We don't have time." The angel said as he pushed him into the portal.

It was the strangest thing I swear.. I didn't even feel any pain when I fell through that portal. It ended up literally being a loophole back to that office though. It wasn't like in those weird romance novels and it wasn't like some "holy" ritual at all. When I came back, though, my life had gotten so much more complicated.. I remember landing on my butt with 6 large-ass wings fluttering around everywhere. The strangest part of this though? I felt like they were a part of me. I had also gotten a silvery-gold halo, too. Apparently those have different colors according to "rank" is what they call them. I had a blue robe. It was exactly the color of my hoodie on earth, too, so it didn't make me feel that weird to wear a hoodie. After I had been "turned" into an angel, I had a ton of responsibilities. I was constantly zipping around checking in on everyone and all of this progress they were making while overseeing earth. Yes, earth. I had thought that I was finally away from that wretched place, but apparently they needed someone to watch it to see how the humans were doing. They needed someone who had experience with them and knew how they felt in order to produce ideas to help improve society down there. I had a really big responsibility on my shoulders.. But the idea finally came to me.

Mason zipped through the place quite quickly, or by now he and his wings had become one and he was much faster than the average angel since he had 3 sets of wings helping him out. Mason opened up the familiar doors and landed on the ground. The business angel looked up at him and was glaring at him a bit. “Mason. What are you doing here? I’m busy!” He said as he kept going through some papers. “Guardian angels.” Mason said a bit excitedly. “Guardian what?” He had the angel’s attention now. “Some of us can could down on earth disguised…” Mason explained. “And watch over those who we know would cause terror and hardship for everyone else. If we were constantly there then we could stop them whenever these events would occur.” Mason said as he searched the angel’s eyes for anything. They seemed quite concerned and thinking heavily. Mason recognized that look- it was the look of an angel whenever they were in contact with the big boss. Yes, that one. Though nobody has
ever met him, only this angel can talk to him telepathically. The angel blinked for a moment then turned to him. “Go. Set them up… And Mason?” He said as he stood up and made Mason look like a little angel next to him. “What?” Mason said as he looked up at the gigantic angel. “The boss wants you to go down, too. He wants you to be able to tell more of the angels how the job is done by the person overseeing all of this.” He said and snapped his fingers.

Usually when he snaps his fingers like that you appear outside of his doors, for he doesn’t really like others to visit him too long. But when he snapped his fingers at me.. I was falling to Earth! I hadn’t even had a chance to gather the angels that I wanted… To properly explain to them what their job was and how important it was to not screw up. I was drawing a lot of attention from the humans as well, for it was pitch black and I was a shooting comet with my 6 wings glows fiercely, making me look like some disorientated ball of fire. I had to disappear somehow or else my cover would be blown.

I still don’t know how to this day that I knew where I was going, but I just felt that I was going into a little girl’s house. I quickly remember the types of things my sister liked- or at least dreamed about having whenever I took care of her. She was like most girls. She liked clothes, and getting her hair done, and playing with the tooth fairy… That’s when it came to me! She had her favorite doll that she carried around with her everywhere. It would be the perfect decoy… I would be able to constantly watch her as her guardian angel without the girl even knowing it! And so, as I fell, I transformed myself into a doll. I made myself look like any other normal doll, actually.. For I remember loathing going to church, as I think most children around this girl’s age did and would grow bored to see an angel doll staring at her. Instead I chose my outfit I had always worn before going into the army. My lucky blue hoodie, my really old and worn out jeans, and my huge boots my dad had bought for me that were too big when I was 7 years old. The only thing that really stuck out was my charred tears and of course, my wings. But those refused to leave me and I thought that the girl would love to have a flying doll of some sort.

As Mason fell down onto earth, it was as if fate had chosen it to be that exact moment that the little girl was walking outside to go stargaze with her new telescope she had gotten. She carefully set it up and focused it on the bright light that was heading straight towards her. The little girl was frozen in horror and with a transfixed look of pure interest as the ball of light crashed down beside her. Mason was now considered lifeless except for his consciousness. So when the girl went over and picked him up, he prayed that she would like him so that way he could watch this girl… For whatever reason he was assigned to her. Mason didn’t even know what bad thing she would do in the future or when.. But he knew he was going to be there for her and keep an eye out for her.
It had been a success, though. The girl squealed and hugged Mason tightly as she spun around. “You just fell out of the sky! For me! I knew it!!!” She was excitedly running into her house and up the stairs.

“I wished… I wished for a new companion for my birthday today and you just CAME! And oh, you’re so gorgeous too! You’re like that one angel dude my older sister loves to read about… You know? Those sexy fallen angels who fall in love with a mortal?” Mason absolutely had no idea what she was going on about. He actually realized he had no clue what time period he was in, but he knew it was a strange one because there was a blinking clock, a lot of lights, and an actual heater along with a lot more weird inventions he had missed out on while being in heaven. So when she went on and on about these teenage novels he just felt confused but simply sat there and listened to the girl go on and on for hours. “Mom! Dad! Sis! Look!” The girl said as she hugged Mason and showed him off. “He fell from the sky and he’s my best friend!” Of course, nobody believed her but the girl didn’t care. She loved Mason so much and made her older sister jealous that she was beyond pleased with her gift.

Oddly enough, the girl never gave me a name like most girls did. She just referred to me as “the most beautiful doll,” but when she was directly talking to me, I found that she sometimes called me “Blondie…” I assumed that she nicknamed me this because of my dirty-blonde hair but I wasn’t so sure.

For the first few months, I think it was… She was completely normal. I had found out her name was Selena, she was an A-B honor roll. Whatever that was. She loved reading books, especially about the paranormal. Sometimes she would let me read the books, too, and I enjoyed them greatly and longed to read more but couldn’t because I had to watch out for her. After a while we had grown close together though….. Until I noticed something horrible.

I couldn’t believe that I didn’t notice that thing when I first came in, but I did somewhat believe that they were fake. Even if they were real, how the bloody hell was I supposed to know what it was?! It started when she came home one night all upset. She had been having a bad “school” day, I assumed it was a place she went to get her “grades” or whatever they were. I think that some of her friends had been bullying her or something, but nevertheless I saw it. There was a dark shape at the door that was watching her. At first I thought it was her shadow being projected from a long distance before I FELT it. The dark aura that was drifting into the room after both me and Selena. I don’t think Selena knew what it was.. But I did.

Demons come in all sorts of shapes, powers, and kinds. This one was more of a lurker.. One that fed on its prey by poisoning it with negative emotions and slowly eating away one’s innocence. It couldn’t fully go into the room though because of my “holiness” as the angels in heaven said. They told me that we are too bright and pure for those things to touch us, but they were wrong. No they did not touch me, but I felt as if Heaven was a bit corrupted.. I didn’t know if it was the negative energy that was affecting me or not but for once in my life I actually started to doubt the ways of Heaven and how things worked up there. I had a lot of time away from them though and as Selena started to get more affected by the demon.. The more I started thinking to myself about Heaven.

All of the angels up there, he had begun to realize, blindly followed the angel’s orders inside those big doors because he “supposedly” talk to God and was the only one able to. Mason highly doubted this. He thought that the angel said that just so he could have power over everyone.. But then why would he turn Mason into an angel? It didn’t make sense to him but he did know one thing- the angels blindly followed someone and didn’t have much of a mind, or, they weren’t allowed to. They all had to be the same, perfect angels. Except for him, the boss, and the messenger angel, of course. If they messed up or were unique in any way without authority, they kicked you out of heaven. Mason didn’t even know how much of a luxury he had until he had started giving advice to angels up there. They sensed that he was.. Different. Not because he had a different robe and more wings, but because he had been a human, something the angels didn’t understand. They also felt that they could trust him without him telling the boss about the things they said to him. It scared Mason, really, and he was hoping that with more angels being down on earth and around them more, they would, too, start acting like them and would change the ways up at Heaven.

Mason was so busy in his thoughts for weeks though that he had failed to notice Selena’s decrease in health. She was growing more hateful, calling her sister horrible names and insulting her parents. She had learned to manipulate them and her friends that visited occasionally whenever they came over. I started to see the people she hung around were affected by the negative energy as well, and the demons were influencing all of them. Her family was getting really concerned about her but they still looked at her as the old Selena, but I knew that they knew she had long left. She had even forgotten about me, but I didn’t care. I was just here to fulfill my duty. Those stupidly clever demons though…

It was probably Mason’s worst day that he could recall. He had been sitting on the same shelf for over a year now and was now collecting dust. Selena had stormed in and was yelling at the top of her lungs. “I’ll go out if I want to and I’ll wear what I want!” She slammed the door and started knocking things off of the shelf and breaking them. He couldn’t help but wince and feel his heart start to weaken and feel disappointed and heartbroken at the chaotic scene in front of them. He watched as her dad stormed in and dragged her out forcefully. He could barely make out the words of the 2, as Selena was screaming like a psychotic person now, her mom was crying, and her dad was yelling back. He did pick up a little bit of it though. “Send you to a mental institution to get you some help!” Her father was saying. Mason felt as if he had failed on Selena… It was that stupid demon that had distracted him from his duty! He should have glowed and distracted her from her problems and kept her optimistic… But he was so selfish.. So, so selfish he thought sadly to himself. He still had hope that he could fix all of this though. Maybe if he entered her dreams in his true form and talked to her…

But it never happened.

The demon had weakened Mason enough to finally enter the room and it tried to attack Mason since he couldn’t give away his position. Much to the demon’s horror, though, when it touched Mason the demon shrieked and burned. It saw that it wasn’t going to be able to get what it wanted physically, but mentally, he had Mason trapped and outsmarted. It slowly slithered to the window and spotted a baby on a cart. Then it did something horrifying. It caused the cart to move downhill and onto the middle of the road while its mother was busy talking on the phone. An oncoming semi was coming towards it and it was honking at it. The demon knew that Mason would have to choose between the girl and the baby, and it knew exactly what he was going to do.

Mason suddenly disappeared from sight and appeared in his angelic form with all 6 of his wings spread out protectively in front of the baby as he picked it up and shot straight into the air. He was so bright though that the semi jerked its car straight into Selena’s house. Mason had put the baby in its bed and glanced outside at the house next to him and saw the horrible sight.

The house cracked and suddenly, it all came down onto the ground. He could hear the screams of the family he had grown close to as their lives ended. If that wasn’t worse enough, the demon was silently snickering as he took their pure souls and ate them up right in front of Mason! He couldn’t help but start to cry right on the spot. Then.. Suddenly the semi blew up and destroyed most of the neighborhood in a large mass-exploding chain reaction. Mason suddenly disappeared and reappeared in Heaven.
I still cry over my massive failure that day.. I cry for those that I had accidentally caused to die and never ascend into Heaven but the most part, I cried because I had failed God, the one person who had given me a warm home and merely asked me to do 1 small thing for him, and I failed.

Rumors have said that when an angel weeps, a massive hurricane comes in shore. Those rumors I will confirm, are true. For I cried so much when I got up there that hurricane Katrina hit the United States and killed even more people. If that wasn’t worse enough, my boss was dragging me painfully by all of my wings and was screaming at the top of his lungs what a disgrace I was. He stuffed words into my mouth.. Said that “This is what happens when you get tempted by the Devil! You get in his clutches and then become a demon!” He also said I had secretly planned this but I was too innocent for God, for any of them except for that angel to see. He held a trial in front of everyone… The people, the angels, and I felt God looking down upon me as the angels shrieked and threw stuff at me. They told me I was a monster.. That I was a demon that now belonged to Lucifer. In the end, I had horribly lost the trial and was going to be sent down to Earth for all of eternity. But because I had caused so much death and had “become a traitor” as the higher angels said, I had to be punished.

They cursed me, so I could only tell the truth so that way I would never harm a soul again, they told me. And then.. That’s when they did it…

The angel that Mason had once worked for popped a large hole into the cloud that sent him back to Earth. He was sobbing at this point, on his knees trying to explain to him what he happened but they wouldn’t hear of it. The angel whacked him in the head with the staff to make him forget everything he had learned up in Heaven so that way he wouldn’t go around spilling it out to “the demons and stupid humans”. He didn’t want to leave Heaven, even though his mind was very fuzzy but he felt that it was the one place that had made him happy and really warm and fuzzy. “Please! Don’t do this! I don’t know who you are but please don’t kick me out!” Mason begged the angel but he wouldn’t hear of it. He tried to push Mason down and actually had to get quite a few angels to start shoving him. In one last attempt, he grabbed a lower angel’s robes and tore it off as he fell from Heaven.

Lost And Found

Mason silently fell with his eyes wide open as he watched the cloud disappear. He suddenly felt his wings starting to burn and felt his feathers slowly being plucked off one by one as his impact to hit earth grew stronger and stronger. He also smelled something different- burning wood. Lost in his haze, he looked at his wooden hands and watched as he shrunk down into the size of a doll. Mason only grew more and more confused and felt as if he was going to die from falling from whatever that place was.

He looked at the cloth in his hands though and remembered that it was an angel’s holy robes he had torn off. In a desperate attempt to remember that heaven and angels were real as well as who he really was, he quickly tore the cloth in 2 and wrapped it around his hands before his memory became too fuzzy.

Out of the blue he watched as one of his burnt feathers transformed into a bird. Mason’s eyes grew huge as the bird quickly flew over to him and grabbed him by the top of his hoodie. He should have felt himself choking to death from the little bird slowly breaking his fall, but he couldn’t, for he was now a doll and couldn’t feel things like that. Mason watched as he slowly landed on a pile of leaves though and blinked for a few minutes trying to remember what happened. “You were just a feather…” He mumbled as he looked at the bird blankly. The bird, in horror, jumped on his leg and pecked it. “Yes, and we are now going to take care of each other.” The bird said in a husky voice. “For those stupid angels kicked us out and for what?” The bird looked annoyed and scared Mason for a moment before he watched the bird sigh. “Birds can talk?” He frowned as his head swam all confused. “First though.. I need to take care of you. You’re in much worse shape than I am right now.” The bird said decisively. “We need to find us some shelter and I need to get your memory back so I can properly introduce myself to you, Mason.” The bird said.

Mason was such a wreck after he fell. He thought that I was a part of his wild imagination and that he was just simply a doll made from a romance teenage novel about a fallen angel! At least he had a small part of his memory still intact though. I started from there and started to build his memory back up, for I was silently there the entire time on his wings, watching, listening, and thinking to myself. It took about a full month before I saw a spark in his hazel eyes… And that was when I knew I was the happiest shadow on earth! He hugged me tightly and cried for hours. Both in relief and in grief, for he had lost his home but now had me for the rest of his life and he knew it, for he felt the special bond that we had.

Now let me tell you, Mason was resentful of the angels for the longest time and looked miserable. It took years for me to coax him into returning into his soft, loving nature. As time went on, he did calm down and started to act like a child. He told me of his previous life before he went up to Heaven, how he had served in the army against his will and how it felt. I think because of his age when he died, some of that childness stuck with him, but that’s all just a theory of mine about Mason. When he did relax, he became a lost child who had no clue where to go, for he said there were “too many bright and shiny things that he had never seen in his life.” He did try his best though and he did protect me and play with me all the time, but we both knew that we were restless and were yearning for something. He was yearning to read and learn more about the place he lived in, and I yearned to take off into the skies with Mason and explore new places with him! I wanted to create a legacy with the both of us. Him, a fallen angel who was now considered demonic by all holy means, and me. A griffin-like hawk that had come out of the ashes of a fallen feather. We were both determined and started researching together.

It wasn’t until we had ran into a doll that walked and talked just like Mason that we finally had a lead on something. “It’s the Dollhouse! How have you not heard of it?” A girl asked as she looked at Mason’s stupidly cute and lost smile on his face. “I guess I haven’t been here for long..” He said sheepishly as he nodded to the angel. “Do you know where it would be located at?” The bird, now known as Thomas, asked. He started the poor girl, for none of the shadows liked to show themselves to talk much, but it was normal for him to do it and he considered it rude if he didn’t show himself up. “Oh is this your shadow? He’s so sweet!” She said as she tried to pet his head. Thomas panicked and squawked at her before flying onto Mason’s wing and puffed himself up. “Sorry…” Mason sighed as he looked down. “He’s not used to other people…” He mumbled the excuse as he glanced up at the confused girl. “How about I just show you? I think you’d get lost anyways..” She smiled at them as she skipped down a long pavement. Thomas started madly whispering in Mason’s ear. “She thinks we’re stupid!” He hissed into Mason’s ear. “I could have found this.. This Dollhouse all by myself! Geesh!” The girl turned around and watched as the bird whispered to Mason and what sounded like a lot of funny noises and couldn’t help but giggle. “Well nevertheless your shadow is cute. What’s his name?” She asked politely. “Thomas.” The bird said flatly. “And I’m not cute… I’m deadly if I want to be.” He said seriously as he looked into her eyes. “Oh.. Sorry then.” She said as she turned back around and stood in front of a regular door. “Here it is sir! I hope you can find your way around and find yourself a home!” She sang as she skipped off.

Thomas couldn’t wait. He waddled down Mason’s arm and used his talons to open up the doors. Mason’s eyes grew big as he looked at all of the unique-looking dolls and shadows. Quite a few seemed to be looking at him as well, for he looked like some sort of god with 6 wings in their eyes. Mason stumbled in with Thomas and kept his head low as he made sure not to talk. “What’s your problem?” Thomas said overprotectively. “We’re new here! No need to be gossiping about us now move on!” He said grumpily as Mason wandered over to a corner of the house and sat down. He pulled his hood up and closed his eyes as he felt content.

“Mason…” Thomas whined as he rubbed his beak against his nose. Mason’s eyes opened up. “What if every one of these doors are taken. Then what?” Mason asked as he sighed. “I don’t know.. We’ll.. Make one?” He suggested. Someone overheard them and came over. This doll, Mason observed, looked like a lumberjack. “You can just walk in any door and make it your home, ya know.” He said in a gruff voice. “Mister….?” He asked the angel. “Mason. It’s just… Mason.” He said as he got up and looked at the big and bulky man and smiled at him. “Thank you…” He said as he walked off towards a door, more happy and confident.

Thomas started jumping from wing to wing as he got a good look at all of the dolls and some of the shadows that showed themselves. A few looked like any ordinary object and some looked like creatures he had never seen before! “You ready, Thomas?” Mason asked excitedly like a child as he bounced around a bit where he stood. “Yeah open up the door, you goof!” Thomas said playfully as Mason opened up the doors and stepped into his new home.

The Present

Postby Lepid » Fri Jan 08, 2016 10:30 am

Now Mason and Thomas have a place of their own. To their luck, they stumbled into a door that was blank. At first they thought this was a joke until Mason thought of something and it just… Appeared! So together, the 2 of them made their perfect world. It was full of mountains, lava, volcanos, beautiful forests and scary sandy dunes. They lived over in the peaceful forest though, where they made tons of books appear.

Image

Mason often spends his time learning and reading with Thomas always by his side, either reading with him or singing to himself as Mason would hug him and pet him preoccupied. After a while, though, Mason grew bored and now explores all over the Dollhouse! People often look up to him for advice and ask him about Heaven, though he often cringes and gets all shy and quiet, for it brings up very bad memories for him and he doesn’t like talking about it. He has told a few close friends though and they pity him. In fact, all the dolls do! They often help Mason and Thomas around, for Mason is like an overly large and confused child since he is in 2015 and he was briefly in 2006, and before that 1978! It was a big jump for him and he was very overwhelmed. He has better gotten used to it though but sometimes he still gets confused and uses things incorrectly like a toaster, an xbox, a tv, etc.

Image

Thomas often helps him though and has warmed up to everyone as well! Actually, the 2 have become very popular. To Thomas’s annoyance, though, it’s because of Mason’s “cute and confused innocence” and because he “acts so shy and childish sometimes.” Though some people love Thomas because he is goofy and very loving towards everyone, especially towards Mason.

They are found flying around a lot and giving some dolls some rides every now and then or helping them out on occasion! Mason and Thomas now sometimes show off to the dolls or simply like to get away from a good number of them, as it makes Mason have a headache sometimes from being once again, overwhelmed easily and it is a very soft spot that he likes to nap on while hugging Thomas. They have also decided to explore the land more that Mason and Thomas created. Mason and Thomas's favorite place, though, is walking through the volcanic lands.

Thomas tells Mason that it is like him walking through hell, but Mason doesn't care. He likes watching the flames jump and dance around him as him and Thomas dance in sync with the flames in the trees. They spend hours there at a time and usually when they are done Mason and Thomas are covered in ash and smoke!

The pair have been through a lot together, and are still making their “legacy” as Thomas puts it. He hopes that they can go to outer space some day and actually touch a star, or even somehow meet “God” as Mason puts it, though he doesn’t really know what to call him anymore.

About that, Mason has completely moved on and has decided that it wasn’t the angels fault, or his fault for falling. It was simply “destiny” as he calls it. He blames the business-like angel, for he is 100% sure that he was controlling all of the other angels and manipulating them so he could replace god and be more powerful than the rest of them. Mason also blames the evil in the world, but has long since gotten over that now too. Because he is fallen, though, most dolls consider him demonic since those rejected from heaven often immediately go to the Devil. Mason has refused this, though, and now lives a life that he and Thomas get to make up together. They both decided that they didn’t need to follow anyone’s rules, or be told what is right or wrong, for they can decide that for themselves and learn life lessons and correct their mistake if they make any. (Which, btw, they do a lot because of Mason’s childish nature sometimes. c’x)

Mason also decided to write a long novel about his whole life up to this point so that way he can reread what has happened. It is a way for him to never forget what he was, and it also helps show a few people who Mason really was because he walked into the Dollhouse.

There are quite a few pages left blank though because Mason plans on writing all of his adventures with Thomas and his new friends in that book as well, so that way their life can live on forever and be passed down to other dolls so they, too, can know about the woeful tale of Mason and Thomas.

Thank you!

Special thank you

I just wanted to thank you Finch for reading through all of those walls of text. I had never written so much in my life or have developed something so much as to this extent in the span of 2-3 weeks, especially one of those weeks of me getting my wisdom teeth taken out! Somehow I managed to get this done though a few days before it was due. I hope you enjoyed the art and backstory/history(s) of these guys. The winner may keep all of this art as well if they'd like. Good luck judging these forms, as I saw quite a bit of really creative and nice forms and concepts! ^^
