Damn, I joined in laaaate 09, though I knew about the site for some months before that. Really wish I had joined then.
Tbh I don't even remember any layout besides the really old, original green one with Avian hanging up in the vines on the far side of the screen and the wooden panels for site links under her. Couldn't even tell you what the rest of the site looked like. I think the adopts page was different, like we didn't have any growths shown and just an adult pic of a random grown pet. And the horses were vastly different and not near as nice looking.

I remember the cats before they got the new lineart change and they were known as just "Warrior Cats". Before that the sitting cats were a special event lineart. I remember Malk's original linearts. Remember when we could still adopt just Owls and Spiders. I remember the Nick Pet's sections to adopt.

That's what I remember as well! :]

I'm not even remotely an oldie, but if I were I'd probably be one of those people with 100 sunjewels XD If I see something I like, I get it. A LOT of it. XD (Then again I also would have been 6 so... XD)

All them youngins better sit down so we can tell them the grand tales of the Olden Days
...Or rather, the horrors of not having groups. Or a wishlist feature. Or an easy trade system. Or the ability to adopt multiple pets at a time. Waiting multiple hours for an Easter banner. The fear when Tess had the cruelty to let us adopt two Grinners when there was six outcomes. The debate over whether or not there should be a re-release again in 2009. That one incident involving this litter.

I joined CS because I thought it'd be a fun little distraction from Howrse that I could occasionally go on when everything else bores me.
I quit Howrse in late 09 but here I am, still playing on CS :'3

Aha I know this wasn't too long ago, but I remember how upset everyone got when they had to change the linearts of all of the ponies and horses from 2010 and earlier. The lineart change with the foxes was kind of upsetting, I loved the old lines, but I also like the new ones.

Anyone remember how a ton of us sorted our pets like packs of pets? Can't remember if people also sorted them like that in their actual CS groups, but it was definitely like that in the threads we posted with our pets. Healers, fighters, alphas, betas, rival packs, ally packs, all that good stuff.

i remember, that was so cute haha.
I completely forgot about the old fox lines, but now I searched it up and miss them again they were adorable. Same with the varieties in horse lines, I remember fighting so hard to keep the old lines and was so sad when it changed I think I quit cs for a lil bit honestly.
Still remember waking up everyday at 6 am so I'd have an hour on cs before I'd have to get ready for school.

I believe I joined in December 2008 and then forgot my password, the old accounts deleted now it was like bob my friend or something as the username omg. Only thing I remember about that account was I had 10 of my favourite rare dog. rip

also remember crying because I had the very rare grapesfrom my brother time to rock and then I gave them away and he got so angry... I regret everything I don't on this website from 2008-2013

It wasn't super long ago, but I remember when I started on CS, (April 2011 I believe, I had an account that I lost the password to before this.) everyone wanted to trade pets up the list. Now I find it difficult to trade my list pets down fairly and it seems nobody really wants to trade up, even for Toxics.

I joined in early 2010 but I remember the very first actual rare pet I ever had was the 08 tiger advent rat I traded it for a purple grinner and the grinner for art of my 1st oc.( Neon purples and neon green what was younger me thinking?) But I knew that I wanted the black and yellow dog with the radiation symbol on it (a yellow toxic) no clue how valuable it was no clue what the rares list was and then looking it up and thinking I'm never going to get one well it took 5 years but I have one now! I also joined a few clubs and such but I remember the users more than anything else so polite and generous they really made me feel welcome here and nowi recently came back from a semi hiatus and seeing the many of the same users still here still being polite and generous and helping newer users I think what amazing people!
