StormClan lives in a luscious forest, their camp in the heart of it. Camp is surrounded by thorn bushes and brambles, giving it well protection. The camp is easy to defend, yet hard to attack. Predators don't normally find it that easily and it's well hidden. The camp is unlike any other Clan, and very original. The entrance to their camp is a waterfall, which leads to a large cave system underground. Their dens are all caves, but all individually different and unique, just like the cats in StormClan. The leader's den is the first den that appears in camp. It's a large hollow cave with a small waterfall draping over the entrance for privacy. Lichen and moss hangs over the front and on the sides of the cave as well. A leader leads a Clan and is well-respected by their clan-mates. The leader sleeps in the sanctuary of that den, which connects to high rock. High rock is the place where Swiftstar holds announcements and ceremonies at. The leader stands on top of the rock while the deputy sits at the foot, and the rest of the Clan that's obligated to join sits in the clearing. Whenever there is a Clan meeting or ceremony, Swiftstar will call, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the high rock for a Clan meeting!" Kits occasionally participate in the thrilling event, but generally they stay in the nursery. The nursery is where the queens and kits of the Clan stay. Queens are she-cats expecting or nursing kits, and kits are newborn cats of the Clan. Normally kits range from the ages of 0-6 moons. Sometimes their apprenticeship is pushed back as a form of punishment, such as sneaking out of camp. StormClan will fight like the whole of TigerClan to keep their queens and kits safe. The nursery is the second largest cave in camp, with moss growing in the back of the den and several cracks and dents in the floor for nests. Once kits reach six moons (months) of age, they are promoted to become apprentices. They then move to the apprentice's den, which is another cave den. Apprentices are normally from the range of 6-12 moons of age, and they are in training to become a warrior. Some take the path of a medicine cat and become medicine cat apprentice, knowing they are forbidden to have kits and fall in love. It's two large boulders that collided together a long time ago under the wrath of one of the Clan's ancestors. It was the second leader of the Clan, Cinderstar. She was evil and taking over the Clan, and StarClan showed that as a sign that she was not the right leader. That's a story for a different time, however. A large pool of water is next to the den, but the entrance to the den is a small sandy clearing. Trees and bushes grow next to the den and large leaves block out the entry of the den for privacy. It's forbidding and dark inside of the den, but sunlight seeps through the den's ceiling, sending shafts of sunlight onto the den floor. The den is a long wide cave, one of the largest dens in StormClan's camp. The end leads to another tunneling system, which is actually the sparkling cave. Inside of the sparkling cave is the moon pool. The moon pool is a pool of water that the cats touch their noses to in order to share dreams with their warrior ancestors. The medicine cats of the Clan go there every half moon (two weeks) to share tongues with their warrior ancestors. The medicine cats of the Clan are Fadedecho and Beetlenose. They sleep in the medicine cat den together and share a nest. The medicine cat den is a large cave underground. Light shines down it in the day, but at night its pitch dark. They have grown accustomed to working in the dark, however. To enter the medicine cat den, there's a steep cliff that leads to the bottom. Large boulders and a ton of moss grows on the bottom of the floor. There are plenty of cracks to store herbs in, as well as some cobwebs. This is the largest den in camp. There are multiple nests used for sick cats, and another section for the injured. They don't want the sick cats to spread their sickness to the injured. The medicine cats of the Clan evidently take care of the sick and injured, and they are forbidden to have kits. However, (in case you are new here's something important to know), the medicine cats of the Clan have fallen in love and gave birth to kits. Their kits are Silverkit, Gingerkit, Whitekit, and Flowerkit. The kits don't know about this yet, but some cats in the Clan do including the leader, Swiftstar. The kits were adopted by Deerwing. Next is the warrior's den. Warriors are above twelve moons (sometimes younger if they become an early warrior) and hunt and fight for the Clan. The warrior's den an underground cave, much like the medicine cat den. Except, the entrance is a bit different. It's a long tunnel that leads to the den which then leads to a pool of water. Past the pool of water is the warrior's den, which is another cave. The warrior and the deputy (Rowanheart) of the Clan sleep there. By the pool of water, there are many bushes and plants. They block the entrance to the warrior's den, keeping it well hidden. The elder's den is different from all of the other dens. There's a pool of water blocking the entrance that they must cross in order to reach the den. There are some stepping rocks, though, so they are able to cross easier. Lastly, there's the prisoner's den. The prisoner's den is much like the apprentice's den, but way less comfortable. It's two colliding rocks that form a den. It's very enclosed and the prisoner's often feel trapped because of this. The rocky hard floor is uncomfortable to sleep on as well, and rain often leaks through the ceiling. The warriors of the Clan aren't bothered to make nests or fix the ceiling because Swiftstar believes prisoners should suffer, and the Clan agrees. Overall, their camp is very unique and rather different from any other Clan.
OUTSIDE OF STORMCLAN'S CAMP:
Outside of their camp lies a dense forest full of oak and pine trees. It's much like ThunderClan's territory but with a glimpse of ShadowClan's, RiverClan's, and even WindClan's. At the edge of their territory is a beach, where twolegs often visit. The twolegs only visit the beach during Green-leaf and New-leaf, when the seasons are warmer. StormClan tries to avoid the beach as much as possible but from time to time they visit it, sometimes to even fish. In the distance is a very large volcano, that could erupt at any moment. The Clan just thinks of it as a mountain, and has no idea that it's actually not. At the other edge of their territory is twolegplace, which is where twolegs and house cats live. The house cats are referred to as kittypets, and the houses are referred to as twoleg nests. Sometimes the medicine cats of the Clan visit there to retrieve herbs that can not be found in the rest of their territory, such as cat mint. There are many predators in twolegplace and they try to stay clear of their path. There's twolegs, kittypets, loners, rogues, outcasts, rats, and dogs. Sometimes even foxes, badgers, and other predators roam twolegplace, but it's not very common. Twolegs are another word for humans. Right next to twolegplace is tree-cut place, which is where the twolegs cut their trees. It's really bad for the environment and makes the ground shake, so be careful! It leaves deep gullies in the earth, which often fill up with yucky rain water and leave the ground muddy and slippery, which is dangerous. Another one of their borders are the mountains. The mountains are huge and far away, and they hardly ever go to them. The mountains are where the tribes live and other Clans that are unknown of and yet to be discovered. Another one of their borders is a large vast meadow. The meadow is where mentors and apprentices often train. If they do happen to fall, they won't get injured as easily as in the forest since the ground is softer. There are tunnels/underground cave systems that are underneath their entire territory, which also connects to their camp. They sometimes hunt in them and send border patrols in them as well. There are many predators such as badgers and foxes in the tunnels, so they have to be very cautious. Plus, when it rains, there's a high chance that the tunnels could flood. At the edge of the meadow, there is horse-place. Horse-place is where the twolegs keep their horses and other farm animals. The twolegs live in a twoleg nest a bit away from the horse-place. Sometimes, mice can be found there. They only really hunt there when they're desperate for prey, such as in the harsh times of Leaf-bare. The horses are nothing to be afraid of, but they should be careful due to the fact that they have very strong legs and can easily crush a warrior, let alone an apprentice. There's an outlook rock in the middle of the meadow. Mentors make their apprentices look past and describe what they see. At the other edge of the meadow, there's an abandoned twoleg nest. A lot of mice roam the nest, which helps the Clan during Leaf-bare. Loners, rogues, and kittypets are often nearby it so they have to patrol it often, as well as horse-place. A large river runs through the forest along with many streams and brooks. The river was once a lake but the water dried up as a sign that a previous leader (Lakestar) should not be leader. It's now a gorge, but the rest of the river remained. The gorge and river are separated by a large beaver den, along with many borders and branches. There's nothing to worry about, for it has stayed that way for countless seasons and could never break. Elders and senior warriors brag about leaping across the gorge in their youth, but of course those are just tales. There's a tale about Lakestar too, and that he fell off of the gorge or was even pushed off by a StarClan spirit. Apprentices are forbidden to get too close to the edge, for fear that they will fall into the nearby river or fall to the hard rocky floor. Right next to the river are sunningrocks, which is a nice place to relax during Green-leaf. Inside of the gorge, many bushes and trees grow, giving a good hunting place as well as training place. Nearby the river are some marshes, which water animals can often be found in (such as fish, water voles, water birds, etc.). Past the marshes lays snakerocks. Snakerocks are very dangerous. There are many dens filled with predators such as foxes, badgers, and dogs, sometimes even coyotes and wolves. Snakes lie between the many boulders and smaller rocks, some even poisonous and fatal. Apprentices and their mentors only go there for challenges, and often watch out for snakes such as adders. A great oak tree lies past the territory. The great oak was where StormClan once had gatherings with the other Clans. They would meet every full moon (at the end of each month) and share and discuss what was currently happening with their Clan. The leaders would sit among the sturdy large branches and the deputies of the Clans would sit at the foot of the tree. The rest of the cats would sit in the clearing and listen to what they had to say. Not much of the Clan went, for fear that others would attack. Some warriors of each Clan went as well as some apprentices, some elders, and some queens. If the queens were about go give birth or nursing, they most likely wouldn't go. Apprentices were rewarded with the privilege to go to the gathering, so when they were mischievous they were forbidden to go. On that one night of the moon, the Clans were to be at peace. If not, StarClan would send a sign to show that the gathering should be held to an end. Sometimes it was lightning it the sky, other times it was clouds covering the moon. In the day, the Clans were allowed to be non-peaceful toward each other as well as afterwards. (The gathering thread is here. Currently StormClan does not have any active neighbors, but if you are interested in being the Clan's neighbor, shoot me a PM. Only if its an active role-play though. Past Clans weren't and that is why they are removed!) In order to reach the great oak, StormClan has to cross the thunderpath/road. There's a tunnel underneath it that only StormClan knows of, and they use that to their advantage. The great oak is sheltered at an island. The Clan has to swim across a long length of water in order to reach it. Currently, there are no stepping stones or even a fallen down tree to use to cross, so only the strongest cats are allowed to go on the trip. A lightning tree is at the gathering place. It symbolizes that the Clans must work together to survive. This is still a work in progress and might be for some time.
